2 T hou hast made the earth to tremble; thou hast broken it: heal the breaches thereof; for it shaketh.

Hai fatto tremare la terra, l’hai spaccata; risana le sue fratture, perché sta per crollare.

3 T hou hast shewed thy people hard things: thou hast made us to drink the wine of astonishment.

Hai fatto vedere al tuo popolo cose spiacevoli; ci hai dato da bere un vino che stordisce.

4 T hou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah.

Ma ora, tu hai dato a quelli che ti temono una bandiera, perché si alzino in favore della verità.

5 T hat thy beloved may be delivered; save with thy right hand, and hear me.

Salvaci con la tua destra e rispondici, perché quelli che ami siano liberati.

6 G od hath spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.

Dio ha parlato dal suo santuario: «Io trionferò, spartirò Sichem e misurerò la valle di Succot.

7 G ilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of mine head; Judah is my lawgiver;

Mio è Galaad, mio è Manasse, Efraim è l’elmo del mio capo, Giuda è il mio scettro.

8 M oab is my washpot; over Edom will I cast out my shoe: Philistia, triumph thou because of me.

Moab è il catino in cui mi lavo; sopra Edom getterò il mio sandalo; o Filistia, fammi acclamazioni!»

9 W ho will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom?

Chi mi condurrà nella città forte? Chi mi condurrà fino a Edom?

10 W ilt not thou, O God, which hadst cast us off? and thou, O God, which didst not go out with our armies?

Non sarai forse tu, o Dio, che ci hai respinti e non esci più, o Dio, con i nostri eserciti?

11 G ive us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.

Dacci aiuto per superare le difficoltà, poiché vano è il soccorso dell’uomo.

12 T hrough God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.

Con Dio noi faremo prodigi, egli schiaccerà i nostri nemici.
