1 O Lord, rebuke me not in thy wrath: neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.

Senhor, não me repreendas no teu furor nem me disciplines na tua ira.

2 F or thine arrows stick fast in me, and thy hand presseth me sore.

Pois as tuas flechas me atravessaram, e a tua mão me atingiu.

3 T here is no soundness in my flesh because of thine anger; neither is there any rest in my bones because of my sin.

Por causa de tua ira, todo o meu corpo está doente; não há saúde nos meus ossos por causa do meu pecado.

4 F or mine iniquities are gone over mine head: as an heavy burden they are too heavy for me.

As minhas culpas me afogam; são como um fardo pesado e insuportável.

5 M y wounds stink and are corrupt because of my foolishness.

Minhas feridas cheiram mal e supuram por causa da minha insensatez.

6 I am troubled; I am bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long.

Estou encurvado e muitíssimo abatido; o dia todo saio vagueando e pranteando.

7 F or my loins are filled with a loathsome disease: and there is no soundness in my flesh.

Estou ardendo em febre; todo o meu corpo está doente.

8 I am feeble and sore broken: I have roared by reason of the disquietness of my heart.

Sinto-me muito fraco e totalmente esmagado; meu coração geme de angústia.

9 L ord, all my desire is before thee; and my groaning is not hid from thee.

Senhor, diante de ti estão todos os meus anseios; o meu suspiro não te é oculto.

10 M y heart panteth, my strength faileth me: as for the light of mine eyes, it also is gone from me.

Meu coração palpita, as forças me faltam; até a luz dos meus olhos se foi.

11 M y lovers and my friends stand aloof from my sore; and my kinsmen stand afar off.

Meus amigos e companheiros me evitam por causa da doença que me aflige; ficam longe de mim os meus vizinhos.

12 T hey also that seek after my life lay snares for me: and they that seek my hurt speak mischievous things, and imagine deceits all the day long.

Os que desejam matar-me preparam armadilhas, os que me querem prejudicar anunciam a minha ruína; passam o dia planejando traição.

13 B ut I, as a deaf man, heard not; and I was as a dumb man that openeth not his mouth.

Como um surdo, não ouço, como um mudo, não abro a boca.

14 T hus I was as a man that heareth not, and in whose mouth are no reproofs.

Fiz-me como quem não ouve, e em cuja boca não há resposta.

15 F or in thee, O Lord, do I hope: thou wilt hear, O Lord my God.

Senhor, em ti espero; tu me responderás, ó Senhor meu Deus!

16 F or I said, Hear me, lest otherwise they should rejoice over me: when my foot slippeth, they magnify themselves against me.

Pois eu disse: Não permitas que eles se divirtam à minha custa, nem triunfem sobre mim quando eu tropeçar.

17 F or I am ready to halt, and my sorrow is continually before me.

Estou a ponto de cair, e a minha dor está sempre comigo.

18 F or I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin.

Confesso a minha culpa; em angústia estou por causa do meu pecado.

19 B ut mine enemies are lively, and they are strong: and they that hate me wrongfully are multiplied.

Meus inimigos, porém, são muitos e poderosos; é grande o número dos que me odeiam sem motivo.

20 T hey also that render evil for good are mine adversaries; because I follow the thing that good is.

Os que me retribuem o bem com o mal caluniam-me porque é o bem que procuro.

21 F orsake me not, O Lord: O my God, be not far from me.

Senhor, não me abandones! Não fiques longe de mim, ó meu Deus!

22 M ake haste to help me, O Lord my salvation.

Apressa-te a ajudar-me, Senhor, meu Salvador!
