1 W hen he was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him.

Quando ele desceu do monte, grandes multidões o seguiram.

2 A nd, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.

Um leproso, aproximando-se, adorou-o de joelhos e disse: “Senhor, se quiseres, podes purificar-me!”

3 A nd Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

Jesus estendeu a mão, tocou nele e disse: “Quero. Seja purificado!” Imediatamente ele foi purificado da lepra.

4 A nd Jesus saith unto him, See thou tell no man; but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.

Em seguida Jesus lhe disse: “Olhe, não conte isso a ninguém. Mas vá mostrar-se ao sacerdote e apresente a oferta que Moisés ordenou, para que sirva de testemunho”. Um Centurião Demonstra Fé

5 A nd when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him,

Entrando Jesus em Cafarnaum, dirigiu-se a ele um centurião, pedindo-lhe ajuda.

6 A nd saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.

E disse: “Senhor, meu servo está em casa, paralítico, em terrível sofrimento”.

7 A nd Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him.

Jesus lhe disse: “Eu irei curá-lo”.

8 T he centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.

Respondeu o centurião: “Senhor, não mereço receber-te debaixo do meu teto. Mas dize apenas uma palavra, e o meu servo será curado.

9 F or I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.

Pois eu também sou homem sujeito à autoridade e com soldados sob o meu comando. Digo a um: Vá, e ele vai; e a outro: Venha, e ele vem. Digo a meu servo: Faça isto, e ele faz”.

10 W hen Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

Ao ouvir isso, Jesus admirou-se e disse aos que o seguiam: “Digo-lhes a verdade: Não encontrei em Israel ninguém com tamanha fé.

11 A nd I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.

Eu lhes digo que muitos virão do oriente e do ocidente, e se sentarão à mesa com Abraão, Isaque e Jacó no Reino dos céus.

12 B ut the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Mas os súditos do Reino serão lançados para fora, nas trevas, onde haverá choro e ranger de dentes”.

13 A nd Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.

Então Jesus disse ao centurião: “Vá! Como você creu, assim lhe acontecerá!” Na mesma hora o seu servo foi curado. O Poder de Jesus sobre os Demônios e as Doenças

14 A nd when Jesus was come into Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother laid, and sick of a fever.

Entrando Jesus na casa de Pedro, viu a sogra deste de cama, com febre.

15 A nd he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them.

Tomando-a pela mão, a febre a deixou, e ela se levantou e começou a servi-lo.

16 W hen the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick:

Ao anoitecer foram trazidos a ele muitos endemoninhados, e ele expulsou os espíritos com uma palavra e curou todos os doentes.

17 T hat it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.

E assim se cumpriu o que fora dito pelo profeta Isaías: “Ele tomou sobre si as nossas enfermidades e sobre si levou as nossas doenças”. Quão Difícil é Seguir Jesus!

18 N ow when Jesus saw great multitudes about him, he gave commandment to depart unto the other side.

Quando Jesus viu a multidão ao seu redor, deu ordens para que atravessassem para o outro lado do mar.

19 A nd a certain scribe came, and said unto him, Master, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.

Então, um mestre da lei aproximou-se e disse: “Mestre, eu te seguirei por onde quer que fores”.

20 A nd Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.

Jesus respondeu: “As raposas têm suas tocas e as aves do céu têm seus ninhos, mas o Filho do homem não tem onde repousar a cabeça”.

21 A nd another of his disciples said unto him, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.

Outro discípulo lhe disse: “Senhor, deixa-me ir primeiro sepultar meu pai”.

22 B ut Jesus said unto him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead.

Mas Jesus lhe disse: “Siga-me, e deixe que os mortos sepultem os seus próprios mortos”. Jesus Acalma a Tempestade

23 A nd when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him.

Entrando ele no barco, seus discípulos o seguiram.

24 A nd, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep.

De repente, uma violenta tempestade abateu-se sobre o mar, de forma que as ondas inundavam o barco. Jesus, porém, dormia.

25 A nd his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish.

Os discípulos foram acordá-lo, clamando: “Senhor, salva-nos! Vamos morrer!”

26 A nd he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.

Ele perguntou: “Por que vocês estão com tanto medo, homens de pequena fé?” Então ele se levantou e repreendeu os ventos e o mar, e fez-se completa bonança.

27 B ut the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!

Os homens ficaram perplexos e perguntaram: “Quem é este que até os ventos e o mar lhe obedecem?” A Cura de Dois Endemoninhados

28 A nd when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way.

Quando ele chegou ao outro lado, à região dos gadarenos, foram ao seu encontro dois endemoninhados, que vinham dos sepulcros. Eles eram tão violentos que ninguém podia passar por aquele caminho.

29 A nd, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?

Então eles gritaram: “Que queres conosco, Filho de Deus? Vieste aqui para nos atormentar antes do devido tempo?”

30 A nd there was a good way off from them an herd of many swine feeding.

A certa distância deles estava pastando uma grande manada de porcos.

31 S o the devils besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine.

Os demônios imploravam a Jesus: “Se nos expulsas, manda-nos entrar naquela manada de porcos”.

32 A nd he said unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the herd of swine: and, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters.

Ele lhes disse: “Vão!” Eles saíram e entraram nos porcos, e toda a manada atirou-se precipício abaixo, em direção ao mar, e morreu afogada.

33 A nd they that kept them fled, and went their ways into the city, and told every thing, and what was befallen to the possessed of the devils.

Os que cuidavam dos porcos fugiram, foram à cidade e contaram tudo, inclusive o que acontecera aos endemoninhados.

34 A nd, behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus: and when they saw him, they besought him that he would depart out of their coasts.

Toda a cidade saiu ao encontro de Jesus, e, quando o viram, suplicaram-lhe que saísse do território deles.
