1 E l Señor es mi luz y mi salvación; ¿a quién temeré? El Señor es la fortaleza de mi vida; ¿de quién tendré temor ?

Jehovah is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? Jehovah is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?

2 C uando los malhechores vinieron sobre mí para devorar mis carnes, ellos, mis adversarios y mis enemigos, tropezaron y cayeron.

When evil-doers came upon me to eat up my flesh, Even mine adversaries and my foes, they stumbled and fell.

3 A unque un ejército acampe contra mí, no temerá mi corazón; aunque en mi contra se levante guerra, a pesar de ello, estaré confiado.

Though a host should encamp against me, My heart shall not fear: Though war should rise against me, Even then will I be confident.

4 U na cosa he pedido al Señor, y ésa buscaré: que habite yo en la casa del Señor todos los días de mi vida, para contemplar la hermosura del Señor, y para meditar en su templo.

One thing have I asked of Jehovah, that will I seek after; That I may dwell in the house of Jehovah all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of Jehovah, And to inquire in his temple.

5 P orque en el día de la angustia me esconderá en su tabernáculo; en lo secreto de su tienda me ocultará; sobre una roca me pondrá en alto.

For in the day of trouble he will keep me secretly in his pavilion: In the covert of his tabernacle will he hide me; He will lift me up upon a rock.

6 E ntonces será levantada mi cabeza sobre mis enemigos que me cercan; y en su tienda ofreceré sacrificios con voces de júbilo; cantaré, sí, cantaré alabanzas al Señor.

And now shall my head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me. And I will offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto Jehovah.

7 E scucha, oh Señor, mi voz cuando clamo; ten piedad de mí, y respóndeme.

Hear, O Jehovah, when I cry with my voice: Have mercy also upon me, and answer me.

8 C uando dijiste: Buscad mi rostro, mi corazón te respondió: Tu rostro, Señor, buscaré.

When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; My heart said unto thee, Thy face, Jehovah, will I seek.

9 N o escondas tu rostro de mí; no rechaces con ira a tu siervo; tú has sido mi ayuda. No me abandones ni me desampares, oh Dios de mi salvación.

Hide not thy face from me; Put not thy servant away in anger: Thou hast been my help; Cast me not off, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.

10 P orque aunque mi padre y mi madre me hayan abandonado, el Señor me recogerá.

When my father and my mother forsake me, Then Jehovah will take me up.

11 S eñor, enséñame tu camino, y guíame por senda llana por causa de mis enemigos.

Teach me thy way, O Jehovah; And lead me in a plain path, Because of mine enemies.

12 N o me entregues a la voluntad de mis adversarios; porque testigos falsos se han levantado contra mí, y los que respiran violencia.

Deliver me not over unto the will of mine adversaries: For false witnesses are risen up against me, And such as breathe out cruelty.

13 H ubiera yo desmayado, si no hubiera creído que había de ver la bondad del Señor en la tierra de los vivientes.

I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of Jehovah In the land of the living.

14 E spera al Señor; esfuérzate y aliéntese tu corazón. Sí, espera al Señor.

Wait for Jehovah: Be strong, and let thy heart take courage; Yea, wait thou for Jehovah.
