1 D espués de esto, el Señor designó a otros setenta, y los envió de dos en dos delante de El, a toda ciudad y lugar adonde El había de ir.

Now after these things the Lord appointed seventy others, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself was about to come.

2 Y les decía: La mies es mucha, pero los obreros pocos; rogad, por tanto, al Señor de la mies que envíe obreros a su mies.

And he said unto them, The harvest indeed is plenteous, but the laborers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he send forth laborers into his harvest.

3 I d; mirad que os envío como corderos en medio de lobos.

Go your ways; behold, I send you forth as lambs in the midst of wolves.

4 N o llevéis bolsa, ni alforja, ni sandalias; y a nadie saludéis por el camino.

Carry no purse, no wallet, no shoes; and salute no man on the way.

5 E n cualquier casa que entréis, decid primero: “Paz a esta casa.”

And into whatsoever house ye shall enter, first say, Peace be to this house.

6 Y si hay allí un hijo de paz, vuestra paz reposará sobre él; pero si no, se volverá a vosotros.

And if a son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon him: but if not, it shall turn to you again.

7 P ermaneced entonces en esa casa, comiendo y bebiendo lo que os den; porque el obrero es digno de su salario. No os paséis de casa en casa.

And in that same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the laborer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.

8 E n cualquier ciudad donde entréis y os reciban, comed lo que os sirvan;

And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you:

9 s anad a los enfermos que haya en ella, y decidles: “Se ha acercado a vosotros el reino de Dios.”

and heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.

10 P ero en cualquier ciudad donde entréis, y no os reciban, salid a sus calles, y decid:

But into whatsoever city ye shall enter, and they receive you not, go out into the streets thereof and say,

11 “ Hasta el polvo de vuestra ciudad que se pega a nuestros pies, nos lo sacudimos en protesta contra vosotros; empero sabed esto: que el reino de Dios se ha acercado.”

Even the dust from your city, that cleaveth to our feet, we wipe off against you: nevertheless know this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh.

12 O s digo que en aquel día será más tolerable el castigo para Sodoma que para aquella ciudad.

I say unto you, it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city.

13 ¡ Ay de ti Corazín! ¡Ay de ti Betsaida! Porque si los milagros que se hicieron en vosotras hubieran sido hechos en Tiro y Sidón, hace tiempo que se hubieran arrepentido sentados en cilicio y ceniza.

Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which were done in you, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.

14 P or eso, en el juicio será más tolerable el castigo para Tiro y Sidón que para vosotras.

But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the judgment, than for you.

15 Y tú, Capernaúm, ¿acaso serás elevada hasta los cielos? ¡Hasta el Hades serás hundida!

And thou, Capernaum, shalt thou be exalted unto heaven? thou shalt be brought down unto Hades.

16 E l que a vosotros escucha, a mí me escucha, y el que a vosotros rechaza, a mí me rechaza; y el que a mí me rechaza, rechaza al que me envió. Regreso de los setenta

He that heareth you heareth me; and he that rejecteth you rejecteth me; and he that rejecteth me rejecteth him that sent me.

17 L os setenta regresaron con gozo, diciendo: Señor, hasta los demonios se nos sujetan en tu nombre.

And the seventy returned with joy, saying, Lord, even the demons are subject unto us in thy name.

18 Y El les dijo: Yo veía a Satanás caer del cielo como un rayo.

And he said unto them, I beheld Satan fallen as lightning from heaven.

19 M irad, os he dado autoridad para hollar sobre serpientes y escorpiones, y sobre todo el poder del enemigo, y nada os hará daño.

Behold, I have given you authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall in any wise hurt you.

20 S in embargo, no os regocijéis en esto, de que los espíritus se os sometan, sino regocijaos de que vuestros nombres están escritos en los cielos. Jesús se regocija

Nevertheless in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.

21 E n aquella misma hora El se regocijó mucho en el Espíritu Santo, y dijo: Te alabo, Padre, Señor del cielo y de la tierra, porque ocultaste estas cosas a sabios y a inteligentes, y las revelaste a niños. Sí, Padre, porque así fue de tu agrado.

In that same hour he rejoiced in the Holy Spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou didst hide these things from the wise and understanding, and didst reveal them unto babes: yea, Father; for so it was well-pleasing in thy sight.

22 T odas las cosas me han sido entregadas por mi Padre, y nadie sabe quién es el Hijo sino el Padre, ni quién es el Padre sino el Hijo, y aquel a quien el Hijo se lo quiera revelar.

All things have been delivered unto me of my Father: and no one knoweth who the Son is, save the Father; and who the Father is, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son willeth to reveal him.

23 Y volviéndose hacia los discípulos, les dijo aparte: Dichosos los ojos que ven lo que vosotros veis;

And turning to the disciples, he said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see:

24 p orque os digo que muchos profetas y reyes desearon ver lo que vosotros veis, y no lo vieron, y oír lo que vosotros oís, y no lo oyeron. Pregunta sobre la vida eterna

for I say unto you, that many prophets and kings desired to see the things which ye see, and saw them not; and to hear the things which ye hear, and heard them not.

25 Y he aquí, cierto intérprete de la ley se levantó, y para ponerle a prueba dijo: Maestro, ¿qué haré para heredar la vida eterna?

And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and made trial of him, saying, Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?

26 Y El le dijo: ¿Qué está escrito en la ley? ¿Qué lees en ella ?

And he said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?

27 R espondiendo él, dijo: Amaras al Señor tu Dios con todo tu corazon, y con toda tu alma, y con toda tu fuerza, y con toda tu mente; y a tu projimo como a ti mismo.

And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself.

28 E ntonces Jesús le dijo: Has respondido correctamente; haz esto y viviras.

And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.

29 P ero queriendo él justificarse a sí mismo, dijo a Jesús: ¿Y quién es mi prójimo? Parábola del buen samaritano

But he, desiring to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbor?

30 R espondiendo Jesús, dijo: Cierto hombre bajaba de Jerusalén a Jericó, y cayó en manos de salteadores, los cuales después de despojarlo y de darle golpes, se fueron, dejándolo medio muerto.

Jesus made answer and said, A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho; and he fell among robbers, who both stripped him and beat him, and departed, leaving him half dead.

31 P or casualidad cierto sacerdote bajaba por aquel camino, y cuando lo vio, pasó por el otro lado del camino.

And by chance a certain priest was going down that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.

32 D el mismo modo, también un levita, cuando llegó al lugar y lo vio, pasó por el otro lado del camino.

And in like manner a Levite also, when he came to the place, and saw him, passed by on the other side.

33 P ero cierto samaritano, que iba de viaje, llegó adonde él estaba; y cuando lo vio, tuvo compasión,

But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he was moved with compassion,

34 y acercándose, le vendó sus heridas, derramando aceite y vino sobre ellas; y poniéndolo sobre su propia cabalgadura, lo llevó a un mesón y lo cuidó.

and came to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring on them oil and wine; and he set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.

35 A l día siguiente, sacando dos denarios, se los dio al mesonero, y dijo: “Cuídalo, y todo lo demás que gastes, cuando yo regrese te lo pagaré.”

And on the morrow he took out two shillings, and gave them to the host, and said, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, I, when I come back again, will repay thee.

36 ¿ Cuál de estos tres piensas tú que demostró ser prójimo del que cayó en manos de los salteadores?

Which of these three, thinkest thou, proved neighbor unto him that fell among the robbers?

37 Y él dijo: El que tuvo misericordia de él. Y Jesús le dijo: Ve y haz tú lo mismo. Jesús visita a Marta y a María

And he said, He that showed mercy on him. And Jesus said unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.

38 M ientras iban ellos de camino, El entró en cierta aldea; y una mujer llamada Marta le recibió en su casa.

Now as they went on their way, he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.

39 Y ella tenía una hermana que se llamaba María, que sentada a los pies del Señor, escuchaba su palabra.

And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at the Lord's feet, and heard his word.

40 P ero Marta se preocupaba con todos los preparativos; y acercándose a El, le dijo: Señor, ¿no te importa que mi hermana me deje servir sola? Dile, pues, que me ayude.

But Martha was cumbered about much serving; and she came up to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister did leave me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.

41 R espondiendo el Señor, le dijo: Marta, Marta, tú estás preocupada y molesta por tantas cosas;

But the Lord answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art anxious and troubled about many things:

42 p ero una sola cosa es necesaria, y María ha escogido la parte buena, la cual no le será quitada.

but one thing is needful: for Mary hath chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
