1 Y vino la palabra del Señor de los ejércitos, diciendo:

And the word of Jehovah of hosts came to me, saying,

2 A sí dice el Señor de los ejércitos: “He celado a Sion con gran celo, sí, con gran furor la he celado.”

Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: I am jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I am jealous for her with great wrath.

3 A sí dice el Señor: “Volveré a Sion y en medio de Jerusalén moraré. Y Jerusalén se llamará Ciudad de la Verdad, y el monte del Señor de los ejércitos, Monte Santo.”

Thus saith Jehovah: I am returned unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called The city of truth; and the mountain of Jehovah of hosts, The holy mountain.

4 A sí dice el Señor de los ejércitos: “Aún se sentarán ancianos y ancianas en las calles de Jerusalén, cada uno con su bastón en la mano por causa de sus muchos días.

Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: There shall yet old men and old women dwell in the streets of Jerusalem, every man with his staff in his hand for very age.

5 “ Y las calles de la ciudad se llenarán de muchachos y muchachas que jugarán en sus calles.”

And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in the streets thereof.

6 A sí dice el Señor de los ejércitos: “Si en aquellos días esto parece muy difícil a los ojos del remanente de este pueblo, ¿será también muy difícil a mis ojos?” —declara el Señor de los ejércitos.

Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: If it be marvellous in the eyes of the remnant of this people in those days, should it also be marvellous in mine eyes? saith Jehovah of hosts.

7 A sí dice el Señor de los ejércitos: “He aquí, salvaré a mi pueblo de la tierra del oriente y de la tierra donde se pone el sol;

Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Behold, I will save my people from the east country, and from the west country;

8 y los traeré y habitarán en medio de Jerusalén; y ellos serán mi pueblo y yo seré su Dios en verdad y en justicia.”

and I will bring them, and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem; and they shall be my people, and I will be their God, in truth and in righteousness.

9 A sí dice el Señor de los ejércitos: “Sean fuertes vuestras manos, vosotros que escucháis en estos días estas palabras de la boca de los profetas, los cuales hablaron el día en que se pusieron los cimientos de la casa del Señor de los ejércitos para la reedificación del templo.

Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Let your hands be strong, ye that hear in these days these words from the mouth of the prophets that were in the day that the foundation of the house of Jehovah of hosts was laid, even the temple, that it might be built.

10 “ Porque antes de aquellos días no había paga para hombre ni paga para el ganado; y no había paz para el que salía o entraba a causa del enemigo, y yo puse a todos los hombres unos contra otros.

For before those days there was no hire for man, nor any hire for beast; neither was there any peace to him that went out or came in, because of the adversary: for I set all men every one against his neighbor.

11 “ Pero ahora yo no trataré al remanente de este pueblo como en los días pasados ” —declara el Señor de los ejércitos.

But now I will not be unto the remnant of this people as in the former days, saith Jehovah of hosts.

12 “ Porque habrá simiente de paz: la vid dará su fruto, la tierra dará su producto y los cielos darán su rocío; y haré que el remanente de este pueblo herede todas estas cosas.

For there shall be the seed of peace; the vine shall give its fruit, and the ground shall give its increase, and the heavens shall give their dew; and I will cause the remnant of this people to inherit all these things.

13 “ Y sucederá que como fuisteis maldición entre las naciones, casa de Judá y casa de Israel, así os salvaré para que seáis bendición. No temáis, mas sean fuertes vuestras manos.”

And it shall come to pass that, as ye were a curse among the nations, O house of Judah and house of Israel, so will I save you, and ye shall be a blessing. Fear not, but let your hands be strong.

14 P orque así dice el Señor de los ejércitos: “Tal como me propuse haceros mal cuando vuestros padres me hicieron enojar” —dice el Señor de los ejércitos— “y no me he arrepentido,

For thus saith Jehovah of hosts: As I thought to do evil unto you, when your fathers provoked me to wrath, saith Jehovah of hosts, and I repented not;

15 a sí me he propuesto en estos días volver a hacer bien a Jerusalén y a la casa de Judá. ¡No temáis!

so again have I thought in these days to do good unto Jerusalem and to the house of Judah: fear ye not.

16 “ Estas son las cosas que debéis hacer: decid la verdad unos a otros, juzgad con verdad y con juicio de paz en vuestras puertas,

These are the things that ye shall do: speak ye every man the truth with his neighbor; execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates;

17 n o traméis en vuestro corazón el mal uno contra otro, ni améis el juramento falso; porque todas estas cosas son las que odio ” —declara el Señor.

and let none of you devise evil in your hearts against his neighbor; and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith Jehovah.

18 E ntonces la palabra del Señor de los ejércitos vino a mí, diciendo:

And the word of Jehovah of hosts came unto me, saying,

19 A sí dice el Señor de los ejércitos: “El ayuno del cuarto mes, el ayuno del quinto, el ayuno del séptimo y el ayuno del décimo se convertirán para la casa de Judá en gozo, alegría y fiestas alegres. Amad, pues, la verdad y la paz.”

Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: The fast of the fourth month, and the fast of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth, shall be to the house of Judah joy and gladness, and cheerful feasts; therefore love truth and peace.

20 A sí dice el Señor de los ejércitos: “ Y será que aun vendrán pueblos y habitantes de muchas ciudades;

Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: It shall yet come to pass, that there shall come peoples, and the inhabitants of many cities;

21 y los habitantes de una irán a otra, diciendo: ‘Vamos sin demora a implorar el favor del Señor, y a buscar al Señor de los ejércitos. Yo también iré.’

and the inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, Let us go speedily to entreat the favor of Jehovah, and to seek Jehovah of hosts: I will go also.

22 “ Y vendrán muchos pueblos y naciones poderosas a buscar al Señor de los ejércitos en Jerusalén y a implorar el favor del Señor.”

Yea, many peoples and strong nations shall come to seek Jehovah of hosts in Jerusalem, and to entreat the favor of Jehovah.

23 A sí dice el Señor de los ejércitos: “En aquellos días diez hombres de todas las lenguas de las naciones asirán el vestido de un judío, diciendo: ‘Iremos con vosotros, porque hemos oído que Dios está con vosotros.’”

Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold, out of all the languages of the nations, they shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.
