1 O íd esta palabra, vacas de Basán, que estáis en el monte de Samaria, las que oprimís a los pobres, quebrantáis a los menesterosos, y decís a vuestros maridos: Traed ahora, para que bebamos.

Hear this word, ye kine of Bashan, that are in the mountain of Samaria, that oppress the poor, that crush the needy, that say unto their lords, Bring, and let us drink.

2 E l Señor Dios ha jurado por su santidad: He aquí, vienen sobre vosotras días en que os llevarán con garfios, y a vuestro remanente con anzuelos.

The Lord Jehovah hath sworn by his holiness, that, lo, the days shall come upon you, that they shall take you away with hooks, and your residue with fish-hooks.

3 S aldréis por las brechas, una tras otra, y seréis expulsadas al Harmón —declara el Señor.

And ye shall go out at the breaches, every one straight before her; and ye shall cast yourselves into Harmon, saith Jehovah.

4 E ntrad en Betel y pecad, multiplicad en Gilgal las transgresiones; traed vuestros sacrificios cada mañana, vuestros diezmos cada tres días.

Come to Beth-el, and transgress; to Gilgal, and multiply transgression; and bring your sacrifices every morning, and your tithes every three days;

5 O freced también pan leudado en ofrenda de gratitud, y proclamad ofrendas voluntarias, dad las a conocer, puesto que así os place, hijos de Israel —declara el Señor Dios.

and offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving of that which is leavened, and proclaim freewill-offerings and publish them: for this pleaseth you, O ye children of Israel, saith the Lord Jehovah.

6 Y o también os he dado dientes limpios en todas vuestras ciudades, y falta de pan en todos vuestros lugares; pero os no habéis vuelto a mí —declara el Señor.

And I also have given you cleanness of teeth in all your cities, and want of bread in all your places; yet have ye not returned unto me, saith Jehovah.

7 Y además os retuve la lluvia cuando aún faltaban tres meses para la siega; hice llover sobre una ciudad y sobre otra ciudad no hice llover; sobre una parte llovía, y la parte donde no llovía, se secó.

And I also have withholden the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the harvest; and I caused it to rain upon one city, and caused it not to rain upon another city: one piece was rained upon, and the piece whereupon it rained not withered.

8 A sí que de dos o tres ciudades iban tambaleándose a otra ciudad para beber agua, y no se saciaban; pero no os habéis vuelto a mí —declara el Señor.

So two or three cities wandered unto one city to drink water, and were not satisfied: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith Jehovah.

9 O s herí con viento abrasador y con añublo; y la oruga ha devorado vuestros muchos huertos y viñedos, vuestras higueras y vuestros olivos; pero no os habéis vuelto a mí —declara el Señor.

I have smitten you with blasting and mildew: the multitude of your gardens and your vineyards and your fig-trees and your olive-trees hath the palmer-worm devoured: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith Jehovah.

10 E nvié contra vosotros una plaga, como la plaga de Egipto, maté a espada a vuestros jóvenes, junto con vuestros caballos capturados, e hice subir hasta vuestras narices el hedor de vuestro campamento; pero no os habéis vuelto a mí —declara el Señor.

I have sent among you the pestilence after the manner of Egypt: your young men have I slain with the sword, and have carried away your horses; and I have made the stench of your camp to come up even into your nostrils: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith Jehovah.

11 O s destruí como Dios destruyó a Sodoma y a Gomorra, y fuisteis como tizón arrebatado de la hoguera; pero no os habéis vuelto a mí —declara el Señor.

I have overthrown cities among you, as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and ye were as a brand plucked out of the burning: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith Jehovah.

12 P or tanto, así haré contigo, Israel; y porque te he de hacer esto, prepárate para encontrarte con tu Dios, oh Israel.

Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel; and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel.

13 P ues he aquí el que forma los montes, crea el viento y declara al hombre cuáles son sus pensamientos, el que del alba hace tinieblas y camina sobre las alturas de la tierra: el Señor, Dios de los ejércitos, es su nombre.

For, lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto man what is his thought; that maketh the morning darkness, and treadeth upon the high places of the Earth-jehovah, the God of hosts, is his name.
