1 E l que habita al abrigo del Altísimo morará a la sombra del Omnipotente.

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

2 D iré yo al Señor: Refugio mío y fortaleza mía, mi Dios, en quien confío.

I will say of Jehovah, He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in whom I trust.

3 P orque El te libra del lazo del cazador y de la pestilencia mortal.

For he will deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, And from the deadly pestilence.

4 C on sus plumas te cubre, y bajo sus alas hallas refugio; escudo y baluarte es su fidelidad.

He will cover thee with his pinions, And under his wings shalt thou take refuge: His truth is a shield and a buckler.

5 N o temerás el terror de la noche, ni la flecha que vuela de día,

Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night, Nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

6 n i la pestilencia que anda en tinieblas, ni la destrucción que hace estragos en medio del día.

For the pestilence that walketh in darkness, Nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

7 A unque caigan mil a tu lado y diez mil a tu diestra, a ti no se acercará.

A thousand shall fall at thy side, And ten thousand at thy right hand; But it shall not come nigh thee.

8 C on tus ojos mirarás y verás la paga de los impíos.

Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold, And see the reward of the wicked.

9 P orque has puesto al Señor, que es mi refugio, al Altísimo, por tu habitación.

For thou, O Jehovah, art my refuge! Thou hast made the Most High thy habitation;

10 N o te sucederá ningún mal, ni plaga se acercará a tu morada.

There shall no evil befall thee, Neither shall any plague come nigh thy tent.

11 P ues El dará órdenes a sus ángeles acerca de ti, para que te guarden en todos tus caminos.

For he will give his angels charge over thee, To keep thee in all thy ways.

12 E n sus manos te llevarán, para que tu pie no tropiece en piedra.

They shall bear thee up in their hands, Lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

13 S obre el león y la cobra pisarás; hollarás al cachorro de león y a la serpiente.

Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: The young lion and the serpent shalt thou trample under foot.

14 P orque en mí ha puesto su amor, yo entonces lo libraré; lo exaltaré, porque ha conocido mi nombre.

Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

15 M e invocará, y le responderé; yo estaré con él en la angustia; lo rescataré y lo honraré;

He shall call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble: I will deliver him, and honor him.

16 l o saciaré de larga vida, y le haré ver mi salvación.

With long life will I satisfy him, And show him my salvation.
