1 P ero debes saber esto: que en los últimos días vendrán tiempos difíciles.

But know this, that in the last days grievous times shall come.

2 P orque los hombres serán amadores de sí mismos, avaros, jactanciosos, soberbios, blasfemos, desobedientes a los padres, ingratos, irreverentes,

For men shall be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, haughty, railers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3 s in amor, implacables, calumniadores, desenfrenados, salvajes, aborrecedores de lo bueno,

without natural affection, implacable, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, no lovers of good,

4 t raidores, impetuosos, envanecidos, amadores de los placeres en vez de amadores de Dios;

traitors, headstrong, puffed up, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God;

5 t eniendo apariencia de piedad, pero habiendo negado su poder; a los tales evita.

holding a form of godliness, but having denied the power therefore. From these also turn away.

6 P orque entre ellos están los que se meten en las casas y llevan cautivas a mujercillas cargadas de pecados, llevadas por diversas pasiones,

For of these are they that creep into houses, and take captive silly women laden with sins, led away by divers lusts,

7 s iempre aprendiendo, pero que nunca pueden llegar al pleno conocimiento de la verdad.

ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

8 Y así como Janes y Jambres se opusieron a Moisés, de la misma manera éstos también se oponen a la verdad; hombres de mente depravada, reprobados en lo que respecta a la fe.

And even as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also withstand the truth. Men corrupted in mind, reprobate concerning the faith.

9 P ero no progresarán más, pues su insensatez será manifiesta a todos, como también sucedió con la de aquellos dos. Comisión a Timoteo

But they shall proceed no further. For their folly shall be evident unto all men, as theirs also came to be.

10 P ero tú has seguido mi enseñanza, conducta, propósito, fe, paciencia, amor, perseverancia,

But thou didst follow my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, patience,

11 p ersecuciones, sufrimientos, como los que me acaecieron en Antioquía, en Iconio y en Listra. ¡Qué persecuciones sufrí! Y de todas ellas me libró el Señor.

persecutions, sufferings. What things befell me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured. And out of them all the Lord delivered me.

12 Y en verdad, todos los que quieren vivir piadosamente en Cristo Jesús, serán perseguidos.

Yea, and all that would live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

13 P ero los hombres malos e impostores irán de mal en peor, engañando y siendo engañados.

But evil men and impostors shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.

14 T ú, sin embargo, persiste en las cosas que has aprendido y de las cuales te convenciste, sabiendo de quiénes las has aprendido;

But abide thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them.

15 y que desde la niñez has sabido las Sagradas Escrituras, las cuales te pueden dar la sabiduría que lleva a la salvación mediante la fe en Cristo Jesús.

And that from a babe thou hast known the sacred writings which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

16 T oda Escritura es inspirada por Dios y útil para enseñar, para reprender, para corregir, para instruir en justicia,

Every scripture inspired of God is also profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for instruction which is in righteousness.

17 a fin de que el hombre de Dios sea perfecto, equipado para toda buena obra.

That the man of God may be complete, furnished completely unto every good work.
