1 D ios, habiendo hablado hace mucho tiempo, en muchas ocasiones y de muchas maneras a los padres por los profetas,

God, having of old time spoken unto the fathers in the prophets by divers portions and in divers manners,

2 e n estos últimos días nos ha hablado por su Hijo, a quien constituyó heredero de todas las cosas, por medio de quien hizo también el universo.

hath at the end of these days spoken unto us in his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom also he made the worlds;

3 E l es el resplandor de su gloria y la expresión exacta de su naturaleza, y sostiene todas las cosas por la palabra de su poder. Después de llevar a cabo la purificación de los pecados, se sentó a la diestra de la Majestad en las alturas,

who being the effulgence of his glory, and the very image of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had made purification of sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

4 s iendo mucho mejor que los ángeles, por cuanto ha heredado un nombre más excelente que ellos. El Hijo, superior a los ángeles

having become by so much better than the angels, as he hath inherited a more excellent name than they.

5 P orque ¿a cuál de los ángeles dijo Dios jamás: Hijo mio eres tu, yo te he engendrado hoy; y otra vez: Yo sere Padre para El, y El sera Hijo para mi ?

For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, This day have I begotten thee? and again, I will be to him a Father, And he shall be to me a Son?

6 Y de nuevo, cuando trae al Primogénito al mundo, dice: Y adorenle todos los angeles de Dios.

And when he again bringeth in the firstborn into the world he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.

7 Y de los ángeles dice: El que hace a sus angeles, espiritus, y a sus ministros, llama de fuego.

And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels winds, And his ministers a flame a fire:

8 P ero del Hijo dice: Tu trono, oh Dios, es por los siglos de los siglos, y cetro de equidad es el cetro de tu reino.

but of the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever; And the sceptre of uprightness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

9 H as amado la justicia y aborrecido la iniquidad; por lo cual Dios, tu Dios, te ha ungido con oleo de alegria mas que a tus compañeros.

Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; Therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee With the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

10 Y : Tu, Señor, en el principio pusiste los cimientos de la tierra, y los cielos son obra de tus manos;

And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning didst lay the foundation of the earth, And the heavens are the works of thy hands:

11 E llos pereceran, pero tu permaneces; y todos ellos como una vestidura se envejeceran,

They shall perish; but thou continuest: And they all shall wax old as doth a garment;

12 y como un manto los enrollaras; como una vestidura seran mudados. Pero tu eres el mismo, y tus años no tendran fin.

And as a mantle shalt thou roll them up, As a garment, and they shall be changed: But thou art the same, And thy years shall not fail.

13 P ero, ¿a cuál de los ángeles ha dicho jamás: Sientate a mi diestra hasta que ponga a tus enemigos por estrado de tus pies ?

But of which of the angels hath he said at any time, Sit thou on my right hand, Till I make thine enemies the footstool of thy feet?

14 ¿ No son todos ellos espíritus ministradores, enviados para servir por causa de los que heredarán la salvación ?

Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to do service for the sake of them that shall inherit salvation?
