1 О временах же и сроках нет нужды писать к вам, братия,

But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that aught be written unto you.

2 и бо сами вы достоверно знаете, что день Господень так придет, как тать ночью.

For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

3 И бо, когда будут говорить: 'мир и безопасность', тогда внезапно постигнет их пагуба, подобно как мука родами имеющую во чреве, и не избегнут.

When they are saying, Peace and safety, then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall in no wise escape.

4 Н о вы, братия, не во тьме, чтобы день застал вас, как тать.

But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief:

5 И бо все вы--сыны света и сыны дня: мы--не ночи, ни тьмы.

for ye are all sons of light, and sons of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness;

6 И так, не будем спать, как и прочие, но будем бодрствовать и трезвиться.

so then let us not sleep, as do the rest, but let us watch and be sober.

7 И бо спящие спят ночью, и упивающиеся упиваются ночью.

For they that sleep sleep in the night: and they that are drunken are drunken in the night.

8 М ы же, будучи дня, да трезвимся, облекшись в броню веры и любви и в шлем надежды спасения,

But let us, since we are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for a helmet, the hope of salvation.

9 п отому что Бог определил нас не на гнев, но к получению спасения через Господа нашего Иисуса Христа,

For God appointed us not into wrath, but unto the obtaining of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,

10 у мершего за нас, чтобы мы, бодрствуем ли, или спим, жили вместе с Ним.

who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.

11 П осему увещавайте друг друга и назидайте один другого, как вы и делаете.

Wherefore exhort one another, and build each other up, even as also ye do.

12 П росим же вас, братия, уважать трудящихся у вас, и предстоятелей ваших в Господе, и вразумляющих вас,

But we beseech you, brethren, to know them that labor among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;

13 и почитать их преимущественно с любовью за дело их; будьте в мире между собою.

and to esteem them exceeding highly in love for their work's sake. Be at peace among yourselves.

14 У моляем также вас, братия, вразумляйте бесчинных, утешайте малодушных, поддерживайте слабых, будьте долготерпеливы ко всем.

And we exhort you, brethren, admonish the disorderly, encourage the fainthearted, support the weak, be longsuffering toward all.

15 С мотрите, чтобы кто кому не воздавал злом за зло; но всегда ищите добра и друг другу и всем.

See that none render unto any one evil for evil; but always follow after that which is good, one toward another, and toward all.

16 В сегда радуйтесь.

Rejoice always;

17 Н епрестанно молитесь.

pray without ceasing;

18 З а все благодарите: ибо такова о вас воля Божия во Христе Иисусе.

in everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus to you-ward.

19 Д уха не угашайте.

Quench not the Spirit;

20 П ророчества не уничижайте.

despise not prophesyings;

21 В се испытывайте, хорошего держитесь.

prove all things; hold fast that which is good;

22 У держивайтесь от всякого рода зла.

abstain from every form of evil.

23 С ам же Бог мира да освятит вас во всей полноте, и ваш дух и душа и тело во всей целости да сохранится без порока в пришествие Господа нашего Иисуса Христа.

And the God of peace himself sanctify you wholly; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved entire, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

24 В ерен Призывающий вас, Который и сотворит.

Faithful is he that calleth you, who will also do it.

25 Б ратия! молитесь о нас.

Brethren, pray for us.

26 П риветствуйте всех братьев лобзанием святым.

Salute all the brethren with a holy kiss.

27 З аклинаю вас Господом прочитать сие послание всем святым братиям.

I adjure you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the brethren.

28 Б лагодать Господа нашего Иисуса Христа с вами. Аминь.
