1 T he Lord reigns, let the earth rejoice; Let the many islands be glad.

O Senhor reina! Exulte a terra e alegrem-se as regiões costeiras distantes.

2 C louds and thick darkness surround Him; Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne.

Nuvens escuras e espessas o cercam; retidão e justiça são a base do seu trono.

3 F ire goes before Him And burns up His adversaries round about.

Fogo vai adiante dele e devora os adversários ao redor.

4 H is lightnings lit up the world; The earth saw and trembled.

Seus relâmpagos iluminam o mundo; a terra os vê e estremece.

5 T he mountains melted like wax at the presence of the Lord, At the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.

Os montes se derretem como cera diante do Senhor, diante do Soberano de toda a terra.

6 T he heavens declare His righteousness, And all the peoples have seen His glory.

Os céus proclamam a sua justiça, e todos os povos contemplam a sua glória.

7 L et all those be ashamed who serve graven images, Who boast themselves of idols; Worship Him, all you gods.

Ficam decepcionados todos os que adoram imagens e se vangloriam de ídolos. Prostram-se diante dele todos os deuses!

8 Z ion heard this and was glad, And the daughters of Judah have rejoiced Because of Your judgments, O Lord.

Sião ouve e se alegra, e as cidades de Judá exultam, por causa das tuas sentenças, Senhor.

9 F or You are the Lord Most High over all the earth; You are exalted far above all gods.

Pois tu, Senhor, és o Altíssimo sobre toda a terra! És exaltado muito acima de todos os deuses!

10 H ate evil, you who love the Lord, Who preserves the souls of His godly ones; He delivers them from the hand of the wicked.

Odeiem o mal, vocês que amam o Senhor, pois ele protege a vida dos seus fiéis e os livra das mãos dos ímpios.

11 L ight is sown like seed for the righteous And gladness for the upright in heart.

A luz nasce sobre o justo e a alegria sobre os retos de coração.

12 B e glad in the Lord, you righteous ones, And give thanks to His holy name.

Alegrem-se no Senhor, justos, e louvem o seu santo nome.
