4 I t is not for kings, O Lemuel, It is not for kings to drink wine, Or for rulers to desire strong drink,

Не е за царете, Лемуиле, не е за царете да пият вино, Нито за князете да кажат: Где е спиртното питие?

5 F or they will drink and forget what is decreed, And pervert the rights of all the afflicted.

Да не би, като се напият, да забравят закона И да онеправдаят угнетяваните.

6 G ive strong drink to him who is perishing, And wine to him whose life is bitter.

Давайте спиртно питие на оня, който загива И вино на огорчения духом.

7 L et him drink and forget his poverty And remember his trouble no more.

За да пие и да забрави сиромашията си, И да не помни вече окаяността си.

8 O pen your mouth for the mute, For the rights of all the unfortunate.

Отваряй устата си за безгласния, За делото на всички, които загиват;

9 O pen your mouth, judge righteously, And defend the rights of the afflicted and needy. Description of a Worthy Woman

Отваряй устата си, съди справедливо. И раздавай правосъдие на сиромаха и немотния.

10 A n excellent wife, who can find? For her worth is far above jewels.

Кой може да намери добродетелна жена? Защото тя е много по-ценна от скъпоценни камъни.

11 T he heart of her husband trusts in her, And he will have no lack of gain.

Сърцето на мъжа й уповава на нея; И не ще му липсва печалба.

12 S he does him good and not evil All the days of her life.

Тя ще му донася добро, а не зло, През всичките дни на живота си.

13 S he looks for wool and flax And works with her hands in delight.

Търси вълна и лен, И работи с ръцете си това що й е угодно.

14 S he is like merchant ships; She brings her food from afar.

Тя е като търговските кораби, - Донася храната си от далеч.

15 S he rises also while it is still night And gives food to her household And portions to her maidens.

При това, става докле е още нощ, И дава храна на дома си, И определената работа на слугините си.

16 S he considers a field and buys it; From her earnings she plants a vineyard.

Разглежда нива, и я купува; От плода на ръцете си сади лозе.

17 S he girds herself with strength And makes her arms strong.

Опасва кръста си със сила И уякчава мишците си.

18 S he senses that her gain is good; Her lamp does not go out at night.

Като схваща, че търгуването и е полезно. Светилникът й не угасва през нощта.

19 S he stretches out her hands to the distaff, And her hands grasp the spindle.

Туря ръцете си на вретеното, И държи в ръката си хурката.

20 S he extends her hand to the poor, And she stretches out her hands to the needy.

Отваря ръката си на сиромасите, Да! простира ръцете си към немотните.

21 S he is not afraid of the snow for her household, For all her household are clothed with scarlet.

Не се бои от снега за дома си; Защото всичките й домашни са облечени с двойни дрехи.

22 S he makes coverings for herself; Her clothing is fine linen and purple.

Прави си завивки от дамаска; Облеклото и е висон и морав плат.

23 H er husband is known in the gates, When he sits among the elders of the land.

Мъжът и е познат в портите, Когато седи между местните старейшини.

24 S he makes linen garments and sells them, And supplies belts to the tradesmen.

Тя тъче ленено платно и го продава, И доставя пояси на търговците;

25 S trength and dignity are her clothing, And she smiles at the future.

Сила и достолепие са облеклото й; И тя гледа весело към бъдещето.

26 S he opens her mouth in wisdom, And the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.

Отваря устата си с мъдрост, И законът на езика й е благ.

27 S he looks well to the ways of her household, And does not eat the bread of idleness.

Добре внимава в управлението на дома си, И хляб на леност не яде.

28 H er children rise up and bless her; Her husband also, and he praises her, saying:

Чадата й стават и я ублажават; И мъжът й я хвали казвайки:

29 “ Many daughters have done nobly, But you excel them all.”

Много дъщери са се държали достойно, Но ти надмина всичките.

30 C harm is deceitful and beauty is vain, But a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.

Прелестта е измамлива и красотата е лъх; Но жена, която се бои от Господа, тя ще бъде похвалена.

31 G ive her the product of her hands, And let her works praise her in the gates.

Дайте й от плода на ръцете й, И делата й нека я хвалят в портите.
