1 ( Către mai marele cîntăreţilor. Un psalm al lui David.) Nebunul zice în inima lui:,, Nu este Dumnezeu!`` S'au stricat oamenii, fac fapte urîte; nu este niciunul care să facă binele.

The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They have corrupted themselves, they have done abominable works: there is none that doeth good.

2 D omnul Se uită dela înălţimea cerurilor peste fiii oamenilor, să vadă de este vreunul care să aibă pricepere, şi care să caute pe Dumnezeu.

Jehovah looked down from the heavens upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God.

3 D ar toţi s'au rătăcit, toţi s'au dovedit nişte netrebnici; nu este nici unul care să facă binele, niciunul măcar.

They have all gone aside, they are together become corrupt: there is none that doeth good, not even one.

4 Ş i-au pierdut mintea toţi cei ce săvîrşesc fărădelegea, de mănîncă pe poporul Meu, cum mănîncă pînea, şi nu cheamă pe Domnul?

Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge, eating up my people they eat bread? They call not upon Jehovah.

5 E i vor tremura de spaimă, cînd Se va arăta Dumnezeu în mijlocul neamului neprihănit.

There were they in great fear; for God is in the generation of the righteous.

6 R îdeţi voi de nădejdea celui nenorocit... dar scăparea lui este Domnul.

Ye have shamed the counsel of the afflicted, because Jehovah his refuge.

7 O ! de ar porni din Sion izbăvirea lui Israel!...

Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! When Jehovah turneth again the captivity of his people, Jacob shall be glad, Israel shall rejoice.
