1 C ît despre mine, fraţilor, nu v'am putut vorbi ca unor oameni duhovniceşti, ci a trebuit să vă vorbesc ca unor oameni lumeşti, ca unor prunci în Hristos.

And I, brethren, have not been able to speak to you as to spiritual, but as to fleshly; as to babes in Christ.

2 V 'am hrănit cu lapte, nu cu bucate tari, căci nu le puteaţi suferi; şi nici acum chiar nu le puteţi suferi,

I have given you milk to drink, not meat, for ye have not yet been able, nor indeed are ye yet able;

3 P entrucă tot lumeşti sînteţi. În adevăr, cînd între voi sînt zavistii, certuri şi desbinări, nu sînteţi voi lumeşti şi nu trăiţi voi în felul celorlalţi oameni?

for ye are yet carnal. For whereas among you emulation and strife, are ye not carnal, and walk according to man?

4 C înd unul zice:,, Eu sînt al lui Pavel!`` Şi altul:,, Eu sînt al lui Apolo``: nu sînteţi voi oameni de lume?

For when one says, I am of Paul, and another, I of Apollos, are ye not men?

5 C ine este Pavel? Şi cine este Apolo? Nişte slujitori ai lui Dumnezeu, prin cari aţi crezut; şi fiecare după puterea dată lui de Domnul.

Who then is Apollos, and who Paul? Ministering servants, through whom ye have believed, and as the Lord has given to each.

6 E u am sădit, Apolo a udat, dar Dumnezeu a făcut să crească:

I have planted; Apollos watered; but God has given the increase.

7 a şa că nici cel ce sădeşte, nici cel ce udă nu sînt nimic; ci Dumnezeu, care face să crească.

So that neither the planter is anything, nor the waterer; but God the giver of the increase.

8 C el ce sădeşte şi cel ce udă, sînt tot una; şi fiecare îşi va lua răsplata după osteneala lui.

But the planter and the waterer are one; but each shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.

9 C ăci noi sîntem împreună lucrători cu Dumnezeu. Voi sînteţi ogorul lui Dumnezeu, clădirea lui Dumnezeu.

For we are God's fellow-workmen; ye are God's husbandry, God's building.

10 D upă harul lui Dumnezeu, care mi -a fost dat, eu, ca un meşter-zidar înţelept, am pus temelia, şi un altul clădeşte deasupra. Dar fiecare să ia bine seama cum clădeşte deasupra.

According to the grace of God which has been given to me, as a wise architect, I have laid the foundation, but another builds upon it. But let each see how he builds upon it.

11 C ăci nimeni nu poate pune o altă temelie decît cea care a fost pusă, şi care este Isus Hristos.

For other foundation can no man lay besides that which laid, which is Jesus Christ.

12 I ar dacă clădeşte cineva pe această temelie, aur, argint, pietre scumpe, lemn, fîn, trestie,

Now if any one build upon foundation, gold, silver, precious stones, wood, grass, straw,

13 l ucrarea fiecăruia va fi dată pe faţă: ziua Domnului o va face cunoscut, căci se va descoperi în foc. Şi focul va dovedi cum este lucrarea fiecăruia.

the work of each shall be made manifest; for the day shall declare, because it is revealed in fire; and the fire shall try the work of each what it is.

14 D acă lucrarea zidită de cineva pe temelia aceea, rămîne în picioare, el va primi o răsplată.

If the work of any one which he has built upon shall abide, he shall receive a reward.

15 D acă lucrarea lui va fi arsă, îşi va pierde răsplata. Cît despre el, va fi mîntuit, dar ca prin foc.

If the work of any one shall be consumed, he shall suffer loss, but he shall be saved, but so as through fire.

16 N u ştiţi că voi sînteţi Templul lui Dumnezeu, şi că Duhul lui Dumnezeu locuieşte în voi?

Do ye not know that ye are temple of God, and the Spirit of God dwells in you?

17 D acă nimiceşte cineva Templul lui Dumnezeu, pe acela îl va nimici Dumnezeu; căci Templul lui Dumnezeu este sfînt: şi aşa sînteţi voi.

If any one corrupt the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, and such are ye.

18 N imeni să nu se înşele: Dacă cineva dintre voi se crede înţelept în felul veacului acestuia, să se facă nebun, ca să ajungă înţelept.

Let no one deceive himself: if any one thinks himself to be wise among you in this world, let him become foolish, that he may be wise.

19 C ăci înţelepciunea lumii acesteia este o nebunie înaintea lui Dumnezeu. De aceea este scris:,, El prinde pe cei înţelepţi în viclenia lor.``

For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God; for it is written, He who takes the wise in their craftiness.

20 Ş i iarăş:,, Domnul cunoaşte gîndurile celor înţelepţi. Ştie că sînt deşarte.``

And again, Lord knows the reasonings of the wise that they are vain.

21 N imeni să nu se fălească dar cu oameni, căci toate lucrurile sînt ale voastre:

So that let no one boast in men; for all things are yours.

22 f ie Pavel, fie Apolo, fie Chifa, fie lumea, fie viaţa, fie moartea, fie lucrurile de acum, fie cele viitoare; toate sînt ale voastre,

Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or world, or life, or death, or things present, or things coming, all are yours;

23 ş i voi sînteţi ai lui Hristos, iar Hristos este al lui Dumnezeu.

and ye Christ's, and Christ God's.
