1 Î n al patru sute optzecilea an după ieşirea copiilor lui Israel din ţara Egiptului, Solomon a zidit casa Domnului, în al patrulea an al domniei lui peste Israel, în luna Ziv, care este luna a doua.

And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month Zif, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of Jehovah.

2 C asa pe care a zidit -o împăratul Solomon Domnului, era lungă de şase zeci de coţi, lată de douăzeci, şi înaltă de treizeci.

And the house that king Solomon built for Jehovah was sixty cubits in length, and twenty in breadth, and thirty cubits in height.

3 P ridvorul dinaintea templului casei avea o lungime de douăzeci de coţi, în lăţimea casei, şi zece coţi lărgime în faţa casei.

And the porch, in front of the temple of the house, was twenty cubits in length, in front of the house broadways, ten cubits was its breadth, in front of the house.

4 Î mpăratul a făcut casei ferestre largi înlăuntru şi strîmte afară.

And for the house he made closed windows with fixed lattices.

5 A zidit lipite de zidul casei mai multe rînduri de odăi, unul peste altul, de jur împrejur, cari înconjurau zidurile casei, Templul şi sfîntul locaş; şi a făcut astfel odăi lăturalnice de jur împrejur.

And against the wall of the house he built floors round about, the walls of the house, round about the temple and the oracle; and he made side-chambers round about.

6 C atul de jos era lat de cinci coţi, cel dela mijloc de şase coţi, iar al treilea de şapte coţi; căci pe partea deafară a casei a făcut arcade strîmte împrejur ca grinzile să nu fie prinse în zidurile casei.

The lowest floor was five cubits broad, and the middle one was six cubits broad, and the third was seven cubits broad; for in the the house he made resets round about outside, that nothing should be fastened in the walls of the house.

7 C înd s'a zidit casa, s'au întrebuinţat pietre cioplite gata înainte de a fi aduse acolo, aşa că nici ciocan, nici secure, nici o unealtă de fer nu s'au auzit în casă în timpul zidirii.

And the house, when it was being built, was built of stone entirely made ready before it was brought thither; so that there was neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron heard in the house while it was being built.

8 I ntrarea odăilor din catul de jos era în partea dreaptă a casei; în catul dela mijloc te suiai pe o scară cotită, şi tot aşa dela catul de mijloc la al treilea.

The entrance to the side-chambers of the middle was in the right side of the house; and they went up by winding stairs into the middle, and out of the middle into the third.

9 D upăce a isprăvit de zidit casa, Solomon a acoperit -o cu scînduri şi cu grinzi de cedru.

And he built the house, and finished it; and covered the house with beams and boards of cedar.

10 A făcut de cinci coţi de înalte fiecare din caturile dimprejurul întregei case, şi le -a legat de casă prin lemne de cedru.

And he built the floors against all the house, five cubits high; and they held to the house by the timbers of cedar.

11 D omnul a vorbit lui Solomon, şi i -a zis:

And the word of Jehovah came to Solomon saying,

12 T u zideşti casa aceasta! Dacă vei umbla după legile Mele, dacă vei împlini orînduirile Mele, dacă vei păzi şi vei urma toate poruncile Mele, voi împlini faţă de tine făgăduinţa pe care am făcut -o tatălui tău David,

As to this house which thou art building, if thou wilt walk in my statutes, and practise mine ordinances, and keep all my commandments to walk in them, then will I perform my word as to thee which I spoke unto David thy father;

13 v oi locui în mijlocul copiilor lui Israel, şi nu voi părăsi pe poporul Meu Israel.``

and I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will not forsake my people Israel.

14 D upă ce a isprăvit de zidit casa,

And Solomon built the house and finished it.

15 S olomon i -a îmbrăcat zidurile pe din lăuntru cu scînduri de cedru, dela pardoseală pînă la tavan; a îmbrăcat astfel în lemn partea dinlăuntru, şi a acoperit pardoseala casei cu scînduri de chiparos.

And he built the walls of the house within with boards of cedar, from the floor of the house to the walls of the roof; he overlaid on the inside with wood, and overlaid the floor of the house with boards of cypress.

16 A îmbrăcat cu scînduri de cedru cei douăzeci de coţi ai fundului casei, dela pardoseală pînă în creştetul zidurilor, şi a păstrat locul acesta ca să facă din el Sfînta Sfintelor, Locul prea sfînt.

And he built twenty cubits of the innermost part of the house, both floor and walls, with boards of cedar; and he built for it within, to the oracle, the most holy place.

17 C ei patruzeci de coţi de dinainte alcătuiau Casa, adică Templul.

And the house, that is, the temple before it, was forty cubits.

18 L emnul de cedru din lăuntru avea săpături de colocinţi, şi flori deschise; totul era de cedru, nu se vedea nicio piatră.

And the cedar of the house within was carved with colocynths and half-open flowers: all was cedar; there was no stone seen.

19 S olomon a pregătit Locul prea sfînt înlăuntru în mijlocul casei, ca să aşeze acolo chivotul legămîntului Domnului.

And he prepared the oracle in the midst of the house within, to set there the ark of the covenant of Jehovah.

20 L ocul prea sfînt avea douăzeci de coţi lungime, douăzeci de coţi lăţime, şi douăzeci de coţi înălţime. Solomon l -a căptuşit cu aur curat. A făcut înaintea Locului prea sfînt un altar de lemn de cedru, şi l -a acoperit cu aur.

And the oracle within was twenty cubits in length, and twenty cubits in breadth, and twenty cubits in the height thereof; and he overlaid it with pure gold; and he overlaid the cedar-wood altar—

21 P artea dinlăuntru a casei a căptuşit -o cu aur, şi a prins perdeaua dinlăuntru în lănţişoare de aur înaintea Locului prea sfînt, pe care l -a acoperit cu aur.

and Solomon overlaid the house within with pure gold, and shut off the oracle in front with chains of gold, and overlaid it with gold.

22 A căptuşit toată casa cu aur, casa întreagă, şi a acoperit cu aur tot altarul care era înaintea Locului prea sfînt.

And the whole house he overlaid with gold, the whole house entirely; also the whole altar that was by the oracle he overlaid with gold.

23 Î n Locul prea sfînt a făcut doi heruvimi de lemn de măslin sălbatic, înalţi de zece coţi.

And he made in the oracle two cherubim of olive-wood, ten cubits high;

24 F iecare din cele două aripi ale unuia din heruvimi avea cinci coţi, ceeace făcea zece coţi dela capătul uneia din aripile lui pînă la capătul celeilalte.

and one wing of the cherub was five cubits, and five cubits the other wing of the cherub, ten cubits from the end of one wing to the end of the other wing;

25 A l doilea heruvim avea tot zece coţi. Măsura şi chipul erau aceleaşi pentru amîndoi heruvimii.

and the other cherub was ten cubits: both the cherubim were of one measure and one form.

26 Î nălţimea fiecăruia din cei doi heruvimi era de zece coţi.

The height of the one cherub was ten cubits, and so of the other cherub.

27 S olomon a aşezat heruvimii în mijlocul casei, în partea dinlăuntru. Aripile lor erau întinse; aripa celui dintîi atingea un zid, şi aripa celui de al doilea atingea celalt zid; iar celelalte aripi ale lor se întîlneau la capete în mijlocul casei.

And he set the cherubim in the midst of the inner house; and the wings of the cherubim were stretched forth, so that the wing of the one touched the wall, and the wing of the other cherub touched the other wall; and their wings touched, wing to wing, in the midst of the house.

28 S olomon a acoperit şi heruvimii cu aur.

And he overlaid the cherubim with gold.

29 P e toate zidurile casei de jur împrejur, în partea din fund şi în faţă, a pus să sape chipuri de heruvimi, de finici şi de flori deschise.

And he carved all the walls of the house round about with carved sculptures of cherubim, and palm-trees, and half-open flowers, within and without.

30 A acoperit pardoseala casei cu aur, în partea din fund şi în faţă.

And the floor of the house he overlaid with gold, within and without.

31 L a intrarea Locului prea sfînt a făcut două uşi din lemn de măslin sălbatic; pragul de sus şi uşiorii uşilor erau în cinci muchi.

And for the entrance of the oracle he made doors of olive-wood: the lintel side posts were the fifth part.

32 C ele două uşi erau făcute din lemn de măslin sălbatic. A pus să sape pe ele chipuri de heruvimi, de finici, şi de flori deschise, şi le -a acoperit cu aur, a întins aurul şi peste heruvimi şi peste finici.

The two doors were of olive-wood; and he carved on them carvings of cherubim, and palm-trees and half-open flowers, and overlaid them with gold, and spread gold on the cherubim and on the palm-trees.

33 A făcut deasemenea pentru poarta Templului, nişte uşiori de lemn de măslin sălbatic, în patru muchi,

And he also made for the doorway of the temple posts of olive-wood, of the fourth part.

34 ş i cu două uşi de lemn de chiparos; fiecare uşă era făcută din două scînduri despărţite.

And the two folding-doors were of cypress-wood: the two leaves of the one door were folding, and the two leaves of the other door were folding.

35 A pus să sape pe ele chipuri de heruvimi, de finici şi de flori deschise, şi le -a acoperit cu aur, pe care l -a întins pe săpătura de chipuri.

And he carved on them cherubim, and palm-trees, and half-open flowers; and overlaid them with gold fitted on the carved work.

36 A zidit şi curtea dinlăuntru din trei rînduri de pietre cioplite şi dintr'un rînd de grinzi de cedru.

And he built the inner court of three rows of hewn stone, and a row of cedar-beams.

37 Î n anul al patrulea, în luna Ziv, s'au pus temeliile casei Domnului;

In the fourth year was the foundation of the house of Jehovah laid, in the month Zif;

38 ş i în anul al unsprezecelea, în luna Bul, care este a opta lună, casa a fost isprăvită în toate părţile ei şi aşa cum trebuia să fie. În timp de şapte ani a zidit -o Solomon.

and in the eleventh year, in the month Bul, which is the eighth month, was the house finished in all its parts, and according to all the fashion of it. So he was seven years in building it.
