1 C uvîntul Domnului mi -a vorbit, astfel:

And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

2 F iul omului, prooroceşte, şi spune:, Aşa vorbeşte Domnul Dumnezeu:,, Văitaţi-vă!... Nenorocită zi!

Son of man, prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Howl ye, Alas for the day!

3 C ăci se apropie ziua, se apropie ziua Domnului, zi întunecoasă: aceasta va fi vremea neamurilor.

For the day is at hand, yea, the day of Jehovah is at hand, a day of clouds; it shall be the time of the nations.

4 S abia va pătrunde în Egipt, şi în Etiopia va fi groază, cînd vor cădea morţii în Egipt, cînd i se vor ridica bogăţiile, şi i se vor răsturna temeliile.

And the sword shall come upon Egypt, and there shall be anguish in Ethiopia, when the slain shall fall in Egypt, and they shall take away her multitude, and her foundations shall be overthrown.

5 E tiopia, Put, Lud, toată Arabia, Cub, şi fiii ţării unite cu ele, vor cădea împreună cu ei loviţi de sabie.`

Cush, and Phut, and Lud, and all the mingled people, and Chub, and the children of the land that is in league, shall fall with them by the sword.

6 A şa vorbeşte Domnul:, Sprijinitorii Egiptului vor cădea, şi mîndria tăriei lui se va prăbuşi! Din Migdol pînă la Siene vor cădea loviţi de sabie, zice Domnul Dumnezeu.`

Thus saith Jehovah: They also that uphold Egypt shall fall; and the pride of her strength shall come down: from Migdol to Syene shall they fall in her by the sword, saith the Lord Jehovah.

7 V or fi pustiiţi între alte ţări pustiite, şi cetăţile lui vor fi nimicite în mijlocul altor cetăţi nimicite.

And they shall be desolated in the midst of the countries that are desolated, and her cities shall be in the midst of the cities that are wasted.

8 Ş i vor şti că Eu sînt Domnul, cînd voi pune foc în Egipt, şi cînd toţi sprijinitorii lui vor fi zdrobiţi.

And they shall know that I Jehovah, when I have set a fire in Egypt, and all her helpers shall be broken.

9 Î n ziua aceea nişte soli se vor duce din partea mea cu corăbiile să turbure Etiopia în liniştea ei; şi -i va apuca spaimă mare în ziua Egiptului; căci iată că lucrurile acestea se întîmplă!`

In that day shall messengers go forth from me in ships, to make careless Ethiopia afraid; and anguish shall come upon them, as in the day of Egypt: for behold, it cometh!

10 A şa vorbeşte Domnul, Dumnezeu:, Voi pierde mulţimea Egiptului, prin mîna lui Nebucadneţar, împăratul Babilonului.

Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I will also make the multitude of Egypt to cease by the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon.

11 E l şi poporul lui cu el, cel mai grozav dintre popoare, vor fi trimeşi să nimicească ţara. Vor scoate sabia împotriva Egiptului, şi vor umplea ţara de morţi.

He and his people with him, the terrible of the nations, shall be brought to destroy the land; and they shall draw their swords against Egypt, and fill the land with slain.

12 C analurile le voi seca, voi da ţara în mînile celor răi; voi pustii ţara cu tot ce cuprinde ea, prin mîna străinilor. Eu, Domnul, am vorbit!` -

And I will make the rivers dry, and sell the land into the hand of the wicked; and I will make the land desolate, and all that is therein, by the hand of strangers: I Jehovah have spoken.

13 A şa vorbeşte Domnul Dumnezeu:, Voi nimici idolii, şi voi stîrpi din Nof chipurile deşerte. Nu va mai fi niciun voivod din ţara Egiptului, şi voi răspîndi groaza în ţara Egiptului.

Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I will also destroy the idols, and I will cause the images to cease out of Noph; and there shall be no more a prince out of the land of Egypt; and I will put fear in the land of Egypt.

14 V oi pustii Patrosul, voi pune foc Ţoanului, şi-Mi voi aduce la îndeplinire judecăţile asupra Noului.

And I will make Pathros desolate, and will set a fire in Zoan, and will execute judgment in No.

15 Î mi voi vărsa urgia asupra Sinului, cetăţuia Egiptului, şi voi nimici cu desăvîrşire mulţimea din No.

And I will pour my fury upon Sin, the stronghold of Egypt; and I will cut off the multitude of No.

16 V oi pune foc Egiptului; Sinul va fi cuprins de spaimă. No va fi deschis prin spărtură, şi Noful cucerit ziua nameaza mare de vrăjmaşi.

And I will set a fire in Egypt: Sin shall be in great anguish, and No shall be rent asunder, and at Noph enemies in open day.

17 T inerii din On şi din Pi-Beset vor cădea ucişi de sabie, şi cetăţile acestea se vor duce în robie.

The young men of Aven and of Pibeseth shall fall by the sword; and these shall go into captivity.

18 L a Tahpanes se va întuneca ziua, cînd voi sfărîma jugul Egiptului, şi cînd se va sfîrşi mîndria tăriei lui; un nor va acoperi Tahpanesul, şi cetăţile lui vor merge în robie.

And at Tehaphnehes the day shall be darkened, when I break there the yokes of Egypt, and the pride of her strength shall cease in her; as for her, a cloud shall cover her, and her daughters shall go into captivity.

19 Î mi voi aduce astfel la îndeplinire judecăţile asupra Egiptului, şi vor şti că Eu sînt Domnul.`

Thus will I execute judgments in Egypt; and they shall know that I Jehovah.

20 Î n anul al unsprezecelea, în ziua a şaptea a lunii întîi, Cuvîntul Domnului mi -a vorbit astfel:

And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the first, on the seventh of the month, the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

21 F iul omului, am frînt braţul lui Faraon, împăratul Egiptului; şi iată că nu -i vor lega rana ca să se vindece, nu -l vor obloji cu legături, nu -l vor lega ca să se întremeze, şi să poată mîntui sabia.`

Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and behold, it shall not be bound up to apply remedies, to put a bandage to bind it, to make it strong to hold the sword.

22 D e aceea aşa vorbeşte Domnul Dumnezeu: Iată, am necaz pe Faraon, împăratul Egiptului, şi -i voi rupe braţele, pe cel tare şi pe cel frînt, ca să -i cadă sabia din mînă.

Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and will break his arms, the strong one, and that which was broken; and I will cause the sword to fall out of his hand.

23 I ar pe Egipteni îi voi împrăştia printre neamuri, şi -i voi risipi în felurite ţări.

And I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and will disperse them through the countries.

24 Î n schimb, voi întări braţele împăratului Babilonului, şi -i voi pune o sabie în mînă; iar braţele lui Faraon le voi frînge, ca să geamă înaintea lui cum gem cei răniţi de moarte.

And I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and put my sword in his hand; and I will break Pharaoh's arms, so that he shall groan before him with the groanings of a deadly-wounded.

25 D ar voi întări braţele împăratului Babilonului, iar braţele lui Faraon vor cădea. Şi vor şti că Eu sînt Domnul, cînd voi pune sabia Mea în mîna împăratului Babilonului, şi cînd o va întoarce împotriva ţării Egiptului.

And I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and the arms of Pharaoh shall fall down; and they shall know that I Jehovah, when I have put my sword into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall have stretched it out upon the land of Egypt.

26 V oi împrăştia pe Egipteni printre neamuri, îi voi risipi în felurite ţări, şi vor şti că Eu sînt Domnul.``

And I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and disperse them through the countries: and they shall know that I Jehovah.
