1 ( Un psalm alcătuit de David, cînd a făcut pe nebunul în faţa lui Abimelec, şi a plecat izgonit de el.) Voi binecuvînta pe Domnul în orice vreme; lauda Lui va fi totdeauna în gura mea.

I will bless Jehovah at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

2 S ă mi se laude sufletul în Domnul! Să asculte cei nenorociţi şi să se bucure.

My soul shall make its boast in Jehovah: the meek shall hear, and rejoice.

3 Î nălţaţi pe Domnul, împreună cu mine. Să lăudăm cu toţii Numele Lui! -

Magnify Jehovah with me, and let us exalt his name together.

4 E u am căutat pe Domnul, şi mi -a răspuns: m'a izbăvit din toate temerile mele.

I sought Jehovah, and he answered me, and delivered me from all my fears.

5 C înd îţi întorci privirile spre El, te luminezi de bucurie, şi nu ţi se umple faţa de ruşine.

They looked unto him, and were enlightened, and their faces were not confounded.

6 C înd strigă un nenorocit, Domnul aude, şi -l scapă din toate necazurile lui.

This afflicted one called, and Jehovah heard, and saved him out of all his troubles.

7 Î ngerul Domnului tăbărăşte în jurul celor ce se tem de El, şi -i scapă din primejdie.

The angel of Jehovah encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

8 G ustaţi şi vedeţi ce bun este Domnul! Ferice de omul care se încrede în El!

Taste and see that Jehovah is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him!

9 T emeţi-vă de Domnul, voi, sfinţii Lui, căci de nimic nu duc lipsă cei ce se tem de El!

Fear Jehovah, ye his saints; for there is no want to them that fear him.

10 P uii de leu duc lipsă, şi li -i foame, dar cei ce caută pe Domnul nu duc lipsă de nici un bine.

The young lions are in need and suffer hunger; but they that seek Jehovah shall not want any good.

11 V eniţi, fiilor, şi ascultaţi-mă, căci vă voi învăţa frica Domnului.

Come, ye sons, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of Jehovah.

12 C ine este omul, care doreşte viaţa, şi vrea să aibă parte de zile fericite?

What man is he that desireth life, loveth days, that he may see good?

13 F ereşte-ţi limba de rău, şi buzele de cuvinte înşelătoare!

Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile;

14 D epărtează-te de rău, şi fă binele; caută pacea, şi aleargă după ea!

Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

15 O chii Domnului sînt peste cei fără prihană, şi urechile Lui iau aminte la strigătele lor.

The eyes of Jehovah are upon the righteous, and his ears are toward their cry;

16 D omnul Îşi întoarce Faţa împotriva celor răi, ca să le şteargă pomenirea de pe pămînt.

The face of Jehovah is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth:

17 C înd strigă cei fără prihană, Domnul aude, şi -i scapă din toate necazurile lor.

cry, and Jehovah heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.

18 D omnul este aproape de cei cu inima înfrîntă, şi mîntuieşte pe cei cu duhul zdrobit.

Jehovah is nigh to those that are of a broken heart, and saveth them that are of a contrite spirit.

19 D e multe ori vine nenorocirea peste cel fără prihană, dar Domnul îl scapă totdeauna din ea.

Many are the adversities of the righteous, but Jehovah delivereth him out of them all:

20 T oate oasele i le păzeşte, ca niciunul din ele să nu i se sfărîme.

He keepeth all his bones; not one of them is broken.

21 P e cel rău îl omoară nenorocirea, dar vrăjmaşii celui fără prihană sînt pedepsiţi.

Evil shall destroy the wicked; and they that hate the righteous shall bear their guilt.

22 D omnul scapă sufletul robilor Săi, şi niciunul din cei ce se încred în El, nu este osîndit.

Jehovah redeemeth the soul of his servants; and none of them that trust in him shall bear guilt.
