1 E lihu also proceeded, and said,

Entonces continuó Eliú, y dijo:

2 S uffer me a little, and I will shew thee that I have yet to speak on God's behalf.

“Espérame un poco, y te mostraré Que todavía hay más que decir en favor de Dios.

3 I will fetch my knowledge from afar, and will ascribe righteousness to my Maker.

Traeré mi conocimiento desde lejos, Y atribuiré justicia a mi Hacedor.

4 F or truly my words shall not be false: he that is perfect in knowledge is with thee.

Porque en verdad no son falsas mis palabras; Uno perfecto en conocimiento está contigo.

5 B ehold, God is mighty, and despiseth not any: he is mighty in strength and wisdom.

Dios es poderoso pero no desprecia a nadie, Es poderoso en la fuerza del entendimiento.

6 H e preserveth not the life of the wicked: but giveth right to the poor.

No mantiene vivo al impío, Pero da justicia al afligido.

7 H e withdraweth not his eyes from the righteous: but with kings are they on the throne; yea, he doth establish them for ever, and they are exalted.

No aparta Sus ojos de los justos, Y con los reyes sobre el trono Los ha sentado para siempre, y son ensalzados.

8 A nd if they be bound in fetters, and be holden in cords of affliction;

Y si están aprisionados con cadenas, Si son atrapados en las cuerdas de aflicción,

9 T hen he sheweth them their work, and their transgressions that they have exceeded.

Entonces les muestra su obra Y sus transgresiones, porque ellos se han engrandecido.

10 H e openeth also their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity.

El abre sus oídos para la instrucción, Y ordena que se vuelvan del mal.

11 I f they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.

Si escuchan y Le sirven, Acabarán sus días en prosperidad Y sus años en delicias.

12 B ut if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge.

Pero si no escuchan, perecerán a espada, Y morirán sin conocimiento.

13 B ut the hypocrites in heart heap up wrath: they cry not when he bindeth them.

Pero los impíos de corazón acumulan la ira; No claman pidiendo ayuda cuando El los ata.

14 T hey die in youth, and their life is among the unclean.

Mueren en su juventud, Y su vida perece entre los sodomitas de cultos paganos.

15 H e delivereth the poor in his affliction, and openeth their ears in oppression.

El libra al afligido en medio de su aflicción, Y abre su oído en tiempos de opresión.

16 E ven so would he have removed thee out of the strait into a broad place, where there is no straitness; and that which should be set on thy table should be full of fatness.

Entonces, en verdad, El te atrajo de la boca de la angustia, A un lugar espacioso, sin limitaciones, en lugar de aquélla; Y lo que se puso sobre tu mesa estaba lleno de grasa.

17 B ut thou hast fulfilled the judgment of the wicked: judgment and justice take hold on thee.

Pero tú estabas lleno de juicio sobre el malvado; El juicio y la justicia se apoderan de ti.

18 B ecause there is wrath, beware lest he take thee away with his stroke: then a great ransom cannot deliver thee.

Ten cuidado, no sea que el furor te seduzca a burlarte; No dejes que la grandeza del rescate te extravíe.

19 W ill he esteem thy riches? no, not gold, nor all the forces of strength.

¿Te protegerán tus riquezas de la angustia, O todas las fuerzas de tu poder?

20 D esire not the night, when people are cut off in their place.

No anheles la noche, Cuando los pueblos desaparecen de su lugar.

21 T ake heed, regard not iniquity: for this hast thou chosen rather than affliction.

Ten cuidado, no te inclines al mal; Pues has preferido éste a la aflicción.

22 B ehold, God exalteth by his power: who teacheth like him?

Dios es exaltado en Su poder, ¿Quién es maestro como El ?

23 W ho hath enjoined him his way? or who can say, Thou hast wrought iniquity?

¿Quién Le ha señalado Su camino, Y quién Le ha dicho: ‘Has hecho mal ’?

24 R emember that thou magnify his work, which men behold.

Recuerda que debes ensalzar Su obra, La cual han cantado los hombres.

25 E very man may see it; man may behold it afar off.

Todos los hombres la han visto; El hombre la contempla desde lejos.

26 B ehold, God is great, and we know him not, neither can the number of his years be searched out.

Dios es exaltado, y no Lo conocemos; El número de Sus años es inescrutable.

27 F or he maketh small the drops of water: they pour down rain according to the vapour thereof:

Porque El atrae las gotas de agua, Y ellas, del vapor, destilan lluvia,

28 W hich the clouds do drop and distil upon man abundantly.

Que derraman las nubes, Y en abundancia gotean sobre el hombre.

29 A lso can any understand the spreadings of the clouds, or the noise of his tabernacle?

¿Puede alguien comprender la extensión de las nubes, O el tronar de Su pabellón ?

30 B ehold, he spreadeth his light upon it, and covereth the bottom of the sea.

El extiende Su relámpago en derredor suyo, Y cubre los abismos del mar.

31 F or by them judgeth he the people; he giveth meat in abundance.

Pues por estos medios El juzga a los pueblos, Y da alimento en abundancia.

32 W ith clouds he covereth the light; and commandeth it not to shine by the cloud that cometh betwixt.

El cubre Sus manos con el relámpago, Y le ordena dar en el blanco.

33 T he noise thereof sheweth concerning it, the cattle also concerning the vapour.

Su trueno anuncia Su presencia; También el ganado, respecto a lo que se levanta.
