1 T ake heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.

“Cuídense de no practicar su justicia delante de los hombres para ser vistos por ellos; de otra manera no tendrán recompensa de su Padre que está en los cielos. Las Ofrendas

2 T herefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

“Por eso, cuando des limosna, no toques trompeta delante de ti, como hacen los hipócritas en las sinagogas y en las calles, para ser alabados por los hombres. En verdad les digo que ya han recibido su recompensa.

3 B ut when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:

Pero tú, cuando des limosna, que no sepa tu mano izquierda lo que hace tu derecha,

4 T hat thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.

para que tu limosna sea en secreto; y tu Padre, que ve en lo secreto, te recompensará. La Oración

5 A nd when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

“Cuando ustedes oren, no sean como los hipócritas; porque a ellos les gusta ponerse en pie y orar en las sinagogas y en las esquinas de las calles, para ser vistos por los hombres. En verdad les digo que ya han recibido su recompensa.

6 B ut thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

Pero tú, cuando ores, entra en tu aposento, y cuando hayas cerrado la puerta, ora a tu Padre que está en secreto, y tu Padre, que ve en lo secreto, te recompensará.

7 B ut when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

“Y al orar, no usen ustedes repeticiones sin sentido, como los Gentiles, porque ellos se imaginan que serán oídos por su palabrería.

8 B e not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

Por tanto, no se hagan semejantes a ellos; porque su Padre sabe lo que ustedes necesitan antes que ustedes lo pidan. El Padre Nuestro

9 A fter this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

“ Ustedes, pues, oren de esta manera: ‘Padre nuestro que estás en los cielos, Santificado sea Tu nombre.

10 T hy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Venga Tu reino. Hágase Tu voluntad, Así en la tierra como en el cielo.

11 G ive us this day our daily bread.

Danos hoy el pan nuestro de cada día.

12 A nd forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

Y perdónanos nuestras deudas (ofensas, pecados), como también nosotros hemos perdonado a nuestros deudores (los que nos ofenden, nos hacen mal).

13 A nd lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Y no nos metas (no nos dejes caer) en tentación, sino líbranos del mal (del maligno). Porque Tuyo es el reino y el poder y la gloria para siempre. Amén. ’

14 F or if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

Porque si ustedes perdonan a los hombres sus transgresiones (faltas, delitos), también su Padre celestial les perdonará a ustedes.

15 B ut if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Pero si no perdonan a los hombres, tampoco su Padre les perdonará a ustedes sus transgresiones (faltas, delitos). El Ayuno

16 M oreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

“Y cuando ayunen, no pongan cara triste, como los hipócritas; porque ellos desfiguran sus rostros para mostrar a los hombres que están ayunando. En verdad les digo que ya han recibido su recompensa.

17 B ut thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face;

Pero tú, cuando ayunes, unge tu cabeza y lava tu rostro,

18 T hat thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.

para no hacer ver a los hombres que ayunas, sino a tu Padre que está en secreto; y tu Padre, que ve en lo secreto, te recompensará. El Verdadero Tesoro

19 L ay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

“No acumulen para sí tesoros en la tierra, donde la polilla y la herrumbre destruyen, y donde ladrones penetran y roban;

20 B ut lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

sino acumulen tesoros en el cielo, donde ni la polilla ni la herrumbre destruyen, y donde ladrones no penetran ni roban;

21 F or where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

porque donde esté tu tesoro, allí estará también tu corazón.

22 T he light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.

“ La lámpara del cuerpo es el ojo; por eso, si tu ojo está sano, todo tu cuerpo estará lleno de luz.

23 B ut if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!

Pero si tu ojo está malo, todo tu cuerpo estará lleno de oscuridad. Así que, si la luz que hay en ti es oscuridad, ¡cuán grande será la oscuridad!

24 N o man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

“Nadie puede servir a dos señores; porque o aborrecerá a uno y amará al otro, o apreciará a uno y despreciará al otro. Ustedes no pueden servir a Dios y a las riquezas.

25 T herefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

“ Por eso les digo, no se preocupen por su vida, qué comerán o qué beberán; ni por su cuerpo, qué vestirán. ¿No es la vida más que el alimento y el cuerpo más que la ropa?

26 B ehold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

Miren las aves del cielo, que no siembran, ni siegan, ni recogen en graneros, y sin embargo, el Padre celestial las alimenta. ¿No son ustedes de mucho más valor que ellas?

27 W hich of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?

¿Quién de ustedes, por ansioso que esté, puede añadir una hora al curso de su vida ?

28 A nd why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:

Y por la ropa, ¿por qué se preocupan ? Observen cómo crecen los lirios del campo; no trabajan, ni hilan.

29 A nd yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

Pero les digo que ni Salomón en toda su gloria se vistió como uno de ellos.

30 W herefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

Y si Dios así viste la hierba del campo, que hoy es y mañana es echada al horno, ¿no hará El mucho más por ustedes, hombres de poca fe ?

31 T herefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

“Por tanto, no se preocupen, diciendo: ‘¿Qué comeremos?’ o ‘¿qué beberemos?’ o ‘¿con qué nos vestiremos?’

32 ( For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

Porque los Gentiles (los paganos) buscan ansiosamente todas estas cosas; que el Padre celestial sabe que ustedes necesitan todas estas cosas.

33 B ut seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Pero busquen primero Su reino y Su justicia, y todas estas cosas les serán añadidas.

34 T ake therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Por tanto, no se preocupen por el día de mañana; porque el día de mañana se cuidará de sí mismo. Bástenle a cada día sus propios problemas.
