1 P aul called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother,

2 U nto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both their's and our's:

a la iglesia de Dios que está en Corinto, a los que han sido santificados en Cristo Jesús, llamados a ser santos, con todos los que en cualquier parte invocan el nombre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, Señor de ellos y nuestro:

3 G race be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

Gracia y paz a ustedes de parte de Dios nuestro Padre y del Señor Jesucristo. Acción de Gracias

4 I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ;

Siempre doy gracias a mi Dios por ustedes, por la gracia de Dios que les fue dada en Cristo Jesús.

5 T hat in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge;

Porque en todo ustedes fueron enriquecidos en El, en toda palabra y en todo conocimiento,

6 E ven as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you:

así como el testimonio acerca de Cristo (el Mesías) fue confirmado en ustedes;

7 S o that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:

de manera que nada les falta en ningún don, esperando ansiosamente la revelación de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.

8 W ho shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

El también los confirmará hasta el fin, para que sean irreprensibles en el día de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.

9 G od is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

Fiel es Dios, por medio de quien fueron llamados a la comunión con Su Hijo Jesucristo, nuestro Señor. Exhortación a la Unidad

10 N ow I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

Les ruego, hermanos, por el nombre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, que todos se pongan de acuerdo (que hablen lo mismo), y que no haya divisiones entre ustedes, sino que estén enteramente unidos en un mismo sentir (de una misma mente) y en un mismo parecer.

11 F or it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.

Porque he sido informado acerca de ustedes, hermanos míos, por los de Cloé, que hay discusiones entre ustedes.

12 N ow this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.

Me refiero a que cada uno de ustedes dice: “Yo soy de Pablo,” otro: “yo de Apolos,” otro: “yo de Cefas,” y otro: “yo de Cristo.”

13 I s Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?

¿Está dividido Cristo? ¿Acaso fue Pablo crucificado por ustedes? ¿O fueron bautizados en el nombre de Pablo?

14 I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius;

Doy gracias a Dios que no bauticé a ninguno de ustedes, excepto a Crispo y a Gayo,

15 L est any should say that I had baptized in mine own name.

para que nadie diga que fueron bautizados en mi nombre.

16 A nd I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other.

También bauticé a los de la casa de Estéfanas; por lo demás, no sé si bauticé a algún otro.

17 F or Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.

Pues Cristo no me envió a bautizar, sino a predicar el evangelio (anunciar las buenas nuevas), no con palabras elocuentes, para que no se haga vana la cruz de Cristo. Cristo, Poder de Dios

18 F or the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

Porque la palabra de la cruz es necedad para los que se pierden, pero para nosotros los salvos es poder de Dios.

19 F or it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.

Porque está escrito: “ Destruire la sabiduria de los sabios, y el entendimiento de los inteligentes desechare.”

20 W here is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

¿Dónde está el sabio ? ¿Dónde está el escriba? ¿Dónde está el que sabe discutir en este siglo (mundo)? ¿No ha hecho Dios que la sabiduría de este mundo sea necedad ?

21 F or after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

Pues ya que en la sabiduría de Dios, el mundo no conoció a Dios por medio de su propia sabiduría, agradó a Dios mediante la necedad de la predicación salvar a los que creen.

22 F or the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:

Porque en verdad los Judíos piden señales (milagros) y los Griegos buscan sabiduría;

23 B ut we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;

pero nosotros predicamos a Cristo crucificado, piedra de tropiezo para los Judíos, y necedad para los Gentiles.

24 B ut unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

Sin embargo, para los llamados, tanto Judíos como Griegos, Cristo es poder de Dios y sabiduría de Dios.

25 B ecause the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

Porque la necedad de Dios es más sabia que los hombres, y la debilidad de Dios es más fuerte que los hombres. Cristo, Sabiduría de Dios

26 F or ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:

Pues consideren, hermanos, su llamamiento. No hubo muchos sabios conforme a la carne (normas humanas), ni muchos poderosos, ni muchos nobles.

27 B ut God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

Sino que Dios ha escogido lo necio del mundo para avergonzar a los sabios; y Dios ha escogido lo débil del mundo para avergonzar a lo que es fuerte.

28 A nd base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:

También Dios ha escogido lo vil y despreciado del mundo: lo que no es, para anular lo que es,

29 T hat no flesh should glory in his presence.

para que nadie se jacte delante de Dios.

30 B ut of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

Pero por obra Suya están ustedes en Cristo Jesús, el cual se hizo para nosotros sabiduría de Dios, y justificación, santificación y redención,

31 T hat, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

para que, tal como está escrito: “ El que se gloria, que se glorie en el Señor.”
