1 O Lord God, to whom vengeance belongeth; O God, to whom vengeance belongeth, shew thyself.

2 L ift up thyself, thou judge of the earth: render a reward to the proud.

Levántate, Juez de la tierra; Da su merecido a los soberbios.

3 L ord, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked triumph?

¿Hasta cuándo los impíos, Señor, Hasta cuándo los impíos se regocijarán ?

4 H ow long shall they utter and speak hard things? and all the workers of iniquity boast themselves?

Charlan, hablan con arrogancia; Todos los que hacen iniquidad se vanaglorían.

5 T hey break in pieces thy people, O Lord, and afflict thine heritage.

Aplastan a Tu pueblo, Señor, Y afligen a Tu heredad.

6 T hey slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless.

Matan a la viuda y al extranjero, Y asesinan a los huérfanos.

7 Y et they say, The Lord shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob regard it.

Y dicen: “El Señor no ve nada Ni hace caso el Dios de Jacob.”

8 U nderstand, ye brutish among the people: and ye fools, when will ye be wise?

Hagan caso, torpes del pueblo; Necios, ¿cuándo entenderán ?

9 H e that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see?

El que hizo el oído, ¿acaso no oye? El que dio forma al ojo, ¿acaso no ve?

10 H e that chastiseth the heathen, shall not he correct? he that teacheth man knowledge, shall not he know?

¿No reprenderá el que castiga a las naciones, El que enseña conocimiento al hombre ?

11 T he Lord knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.

El Señor conoce los pensamientos del hombre, Sabe que son sólo un soplo.

12 B lessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O Lord, and teachest him out of thy law;

Bienaventurado el hombre a quien reprendes, Señor, Y lo instruyes en Tu ley;

13 T hat thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be digged for the wicked.

Para darle descanso en los días de aflicción, Hasta que se cave una fosa para el impío.

14 F or the Lord will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance.

Porque el Señor no abandonará a Su pueblo, Ni desamparará a Su heredad.

15 B ut judgment shall return unto righteousness: and all the upright in heart shall follow it.

Porque el juicio volverá a ser justo, Y todos los rectos de corazón lo seguirán.

16 W ho will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?

¿Quién se levantará por mí contra los malhechores? ¿Quién me defenderá de los que hacen iniquidad ?

17 U nless the Lord had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence.

Si el Señor no hubiera sido mi ayuda, Pronto habría habitado mi alma en el lugar del silencio.

18 W hen I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O Lord, held me up.

Si digo: “Mi pie ha resbalado,” Tu misericordia, oh Señor, me sostendrá.

19 I n the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.

Cuando mis inquietudes se multiplican dentro de mí, Tus consuelos deleitan mi alma.

20 S hall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, which frameth mischief by a law?

¿Puede ser aliado Tuyo un trono de destrucción, Que planea el mal por decreto ?

21 T hey gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood.

Se unen contra la vida del justo, Y condenan a muerte al inocente.

22 B ut the Lord is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge.

Pero el Señor ha sido mi baluarte, Y mi Dios la roca de mi refugio.

23 A nd he shall bring upon them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; yea, the Lord our God shall cut them off.

El ha hecho volver sobre ellos su propia iniquidad, Y los destruirá en su maldad; El Señor, nuestro Dios, los destruirá.
