1 E phraim feedeth on wind, and followeth after the east wind: he daily increaseth lies and desolation; and they do make a covenant with the Assyrians, and oil is carried into Egypt.

Efraín se alimenta de viento, Y persigue sin cesar al viento del este. Multiplica la mentira y la violencia; Hacen además pacto con Asiria, Y el aceite es llevado a Egipto.

2 T he Lord hath also a controversy with Judah, and will punish Jacob according to his ways; according to his doings will he recompense him.

3 H e took his brother by the heel in the womb, and by his strength he had power with God:

5 E ven the Lord God of hosts; the Lord is his memorial.

Sí, el Señor, Dios de los ejércitos, El Señor es Su nombre.

6 T herefore turn thou to thy God: keep mercy and judgment and wait on thy God continually.

Y tú, vuelve a tu Dios, Practica la misericordia (la lealtad) y la justicia (el derecho), Y espera siempre en tu Dios.

7 H e is a merchant, the balances of deceit are in his hand: he loveth to oppress.

A un mercader, en cuyas manos hay balanzas falsas, Le gusta oprimir.

8 A nd Ephraim said, Yet I am become rich, I have found me out substance: in all my labours they shall find none iniquity in me that were sin.

Efraín ha dicho: “Ciertamente me he enriquecido, He adquirido riquezas para mí; En todos mis trabajos no hallarán en mí Iniquidad alguna que sea pecado.”

9 A nd I that am the Lord thy God from the land of Egypt will yet make thee to dwell in tabernacles, as in the days of the solemn feast.

Pero Yo he sido el Señor tu Dios desde la tierra de Egipto; De nuevo te haré habitar en tiendas, Como en los días de la fiesta señalada.

10 I have also spoken by the prophets, and I have multiplied visions, and used similitudes, by the ministry of the prophets.

También he hablado a los profetas Y multipliqué las visiones; Y por medio de los profetas hablé en parábolas.

11 I s there iniquity in Gilead? surely they are vanity: they sacrifice bullocks in Gilgal; yea, their altars are as heaps in the furrows of the fields.

¿Hay iniquidad en Galaad? Ciertamente son indignos. En Gilgal sacrifican toros, Sí, sus altares son como montones de piedra En los surcos del campo.

12 A nd Jacob fled into the country of Syria, and Israel served for a wife, and for a wife he kept sheep.

Pero Jacob huyó a la tierra de Aram, E Israel sirvió por una mujer, Y por una mujer cuidó rebaños.

13 A nd by a prophet the Lord brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet was he preserved.

Por un profeta el Señor hizo subir a Israel de Egipto, Y por un profeta fue guardado.

14 E phraim provoked him to anger most bitterly: therefore shall he leave his blood upon him, and his reproach shall his Lord return unto him.

Efraín le ha irritado amargamente; Por eso su Señor dejará sobre él su culpa de sangre, Y le devolverá su oprobio.
