1 S hout aloud unto God, all the earth:

«Al maestro del coro. Cantico. Salmo» Mandate grida di gioia a DIO, voi tutti abitanti della terra;

2 S ing forth the glory of his name, make his praise glorious;

inneggiate alla gloria del suo nome; rendete la sua lode gloriosa.

3 S ay unto God, How terrible are thy works! because of the greatness of thy strength, thine enemies come cringing unto thee.

Dite a DIO: «Come sono tremende le tue opere! Per la grandezza della tua potenza i tuoi nemici si sottometteranno a te.

4 A ll the earth shall worship thee, and sing psalms unto thee: they shall sing forth thy name. Selah.

Tutta la terra ti adorerà e canterà a te, canterà le lodi del tuo nome». (Sela)

5 C ome and see the works of God: he is terrible in doings toward the children of men.

Venite e ammirate ciò che DIO ha fatto; egli è tremendo nelle sue opere verso i figli degli uomini.

6 H e turned the sea into dry; they went through the river on foot: there did we rejoice in him.

Egli cambiò il mare in terra asciutta; il suo popolo passò il fiume a piedi asciutti, rallegriamoci dunque in lui.

7 H e ruleth by his power for ever; his eyes observe the nations: let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah.

Con la sua potenza egli regna in eterno; i suoi occhi osservano le nazioni. Non permettere che i ribelli si innalzino. (Sela)

8 B less our God, ye peoples, and make the voice of his praise to be heard;

Voi popoli, benedite il nostro DIO; e proclamate ad alta voce la sua lode.

9 W ho hath set our soul in life, and suffereth not our feet to be moved.

Egli è colui che ci mantiene in vita, e non permette che i nostri piedi vacillino.

10 F or thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried.

Poiché tu ci hai messi alla prova, o DIO, tu ci hai raffinati come si raffina l'argento.

11 T hou broughtest us into a net, thou didst lay a heavy burden upon our loins;

Ci hai fatti cadere nella rete, hai posto un grave peso sui nostri lombi.

12 T hou didst cause men to ride over our head; we went through fire and through water: but thou hast brought us out into abundance.

Hai fatto cavalcare gli uomini sul nostro capo, siamo passati attraverso il fuoco e l'acqua, ma tu ci hai tratto fuori in luogo di refrigerio.

13 I will go into thy house with burnt-offerings; I will perform my vows to thee,

Io entrerò nella tua casa con olocausti, adempirò i miei voti

14 W hich my lips have uttered, and my mouth hath spoken, when I was in trouble.

che le mie labbra hanno formulato e la mia bocca ha pronunziato quando ero nell'avversità.

15 I will offer up unto thee burnt-offerings of fatted beasts, with the incense of rams; I will offer bullocks with goats. Selah.

Ti offrirò olocausti di bestie grasse, col soave odore di montoni; sacrificherò buoi e capri. (Sela)

16 C ome, hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul.

Venite e ascoltate, voi tutti che temete DIO, e io vi racconterò quel che egli ha fatto per l'anima mia.

17 I called unto him with my mouth, and he was extolled with my tongue.

Ho gridato a lui con la mia bocca e l'ho esaltato con la mia lingua.

18 H ad I regarded iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not hear.

Se avessi serbato del male nel mio cuore, il Signore non mi avrebbe dato ascolto.

19 B ut God hath heard; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer.

Ma DIO mi ha ascoltato e ha prestato attenzione alla voce della mia preghiera.

20 B lessed be God, who hath not turned away my prayer, nor his loving-kindness from me!

Sia benedetto DIO, che non ha respinto la mia preghiera e non mi ha negato la sua benignità.
