1 W hen Jehovah turned the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.

«Canto dei pellegrinaggi.» Quando l'Eterno fece ritornare i prigionieri di Sion, ci sembrava di sognare.

2 T hen was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with rejoicing: then said they among the nations, Jehovah hath done great things for them.

Allora la nostra bocca si riempí di riso e la nostra lingua di canti di gioia, allora si diceva fra le nazioni: «L'Eterno ha fatto cose grandi per loro».

3 J ehovah hath done great things for us; we are joyful.

L'Eterno ha fatto cose grandi per noi, e siamo pieni di gioia.

4 T urn our captivity, O Jehovah, as the streams in the south.

Fa' ritornare i nostri prigionieri, o Eterno, come i torrenti nel sud.

5 T hey that sow in tears shall reap with rejoicing:

Quelli che seminano con lacrime, mieteranno con canti di gioia.

6 H e goeth forth and weepeth, bearing seed for scattering; he cometh again with rejoicing, bearing his sheaves.

Ben va piangendo colui che porta il seme da spargere, ma tornerà con canti di gioia portando i suoi covoni.
