1 F or the rest, my brethren, rejoice in Lord: to write the same things to you, to me not irksome, and for you safe.

Per il resto, fratelli miei, rallegratevi nel Signore; per me certo non è gravoso scrivervi le stesse cose, e per voi è una salvaguardia.

2 S ee to dogs, see to evil workmen, see to the concision.

Guardatevi dai cani, guardatevi dai cattivi operai, guardatevi da quelli che si fanno mutilare.

3 F or we are the circumcision, who worship by Spirit of God, and boast in Christ Jesus, and do not trust in flesh.

I veri circoncisi infatti siamo noi che serviamo Dio nello Spirito e ci gloriamo in Cristo Gesú senza confidarci nella carne,

4 T hough I have trust even in flesh; if any other think to trust in flesh, I rather:

benché io avessi di che confidare anche nella carne; se qualcuno pensa di avere di che confidare, io ne ho molto di piu:

5 a s to circumcision, the eighth day; of race of Israel, of tribe of Benjamin, Hebrew of Hebrews; as to law, a Pharisee;

sono stato circonciso l'ottavo giorno, sono della nazione d'Israele, della tribú di Beniamino, Ebreo di Ebrei quanto alla legge, fariseo,

6 a s to zeal, persecuting the assembly; as to righteousness which in law, found blameless;

quanto allo zelo, persecutore della chiesa; quanto alla giustizia che è nella legge, irreprensibile,

7 b ut what things were gain to me these I counted, on account of Christ, loss.

Ma le cose che mi erano guadagno, le ho ritenute una perdita per Cristo.

8 B ut surely I count also all things to be loss on account of the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, on account of whom I have suffered the loss of all, and count them to be filth, that I may gain Christ;

Anzi, ritengo anche tutte queste cose essere una perdita di fronte all'eccellenza della conoscenza di Cristo Gesú mio Signore, per il quale ho perso tutte queste cose e le ritengo come tanta spazzatura per guadagnare Cristo,

9 a nd that I may be found in him, not having my righteousness, which on the principle of law, but that which is by faith of Christ, the righteousness which of God through faith,

e per essere trovato in lui, avendo non già la mia giustizia che deriva dalla legge, ma quella che deriva dalla fede di Cristo: giustizia che proviene da Dio mediante la fede,

10 t o know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being conformed to his death,

per conoscere lui, Cristo la potenza della sua risurrezione e la comunione delle sue sofferenze, essendo reso conforme alla sua morte,

11 i f any way I arrive at the resurrection from among dead.

se in qualche modo possa giungere alla risurrezione dai morti.

12 N ot that I have already obtained, or am already perfected; but I pursue, if also I may get possession, seeing that also I have been taken possession of by Christ.

Non che io abbia già ottenuto il premio, o sia già arrivato al compimento, ma proseguo per poter afferrare il premio, poiché anch'io sono stato afferrato da Gesú Cristo.

13 B rethren, I do not count to have got possession myself; but one thing—forgetting the things behind, and stretching out to the things before,

Fratelli, non ritengo di avere già ottenuto il premio, ma faccio una cosa: dimenticando le cose che stanno dietro e protendendomi verso le cose che stanno davanti,

14 I pursue, towards goal, for the prize of the calling on high of God in Christ Jesus.

proseguo il corso verso la méta verso il premio della suprema vocazione di Dio in Cristo Gesú.

15 A s many therefore as perfect, let us be thus minded; and if ye are any otherwise minded, this also God shall reveal to you.

Quanti siamo perfetti, abbiamo dunque questi pensieri; e se voi pensate altrimenti in qualche cosa, Dio vi rivelerà anche questo.

16 B ut whereto we have attained, walk in the same steps.

Ma al punto in cui siamo arrivati, camminiamo secondo la stessa regola di condotta in pieno accordo.

17 B e imitators together of me, brethren, and fix your eyes on those walking thus as you have us for a model;

Siate miei imitatori, fratelli, e considerate coloro che camminano cosí, secondo l'esempio che avete in noi.

18 ( for many walk of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they the enemies of the cross of Christ:

Poiché molti, dei quali vi ho spesse volte parlato, e anche al presente ve lo dico piangendo, camminano da nemici della croce di Cristo,

19 w hose end destruction, whose god the belly, and glory in their shame, who mind earthly things:)

la cui fine è la perdizione, il cui dio è il ventre e la cui gloria è a loro vergogna; essi hanno la mente rivolta alle cose della terra.

20 f or our commonwealth has its existence in heavens, from which also we await the Lord Jesus Christ Saviour,

La nostra cittadinanza infatti è nei cieli, da dove aspettiamo pure il Salvatore, il Signor Gesú Cristo,

21 w ho shall transform our body of humiliation into conformity to his body of glory, according to the working of power which he has even to subdue all things to himself.

il quale trasformerà il nostro umile corpo, affinché sia reso conforme al suo corpo glorioso, secondo la sua potenza che lo mette in grado di sottoporre a sé tutte le cose.
