1 T hen God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the animals that were with him in the ark. And God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters subsided.

Entonces se acordó Dios de Noé y de todos los animales y todas las bestias que estaban con él en el arca; e hizo pasar Dios un viento sobre la tierra y disminuyeron las aguas.

2 T he fountains of the deep and the windows of heaven were also stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained.

Se cerraron las fuentes del abismo y las cataratas de los cielos; y la lluvia de los cielos fue detenida.

3 A nd the waters receded continually from the earth. At the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters decreased.

Las aguas decrecían gradualmente sobre la tierra; y se retiraron las aguas al cabo de ciento cincuenta días.

4 T hen the ark rested in the seventh month, the seventeenth day of the month, on the mountains of Ararat.

Reposó el arca en el mes séptimo, a los diecisiete días del mes, sobre los montes Ararat.

5 A nd the waters decreased continually until the tenth month. In the tenth month, on the first day of the month, the tops of the mountains were seen.

Las aguas fueron decreciendo hasta el mes décimo, cuando, el primer día del mes, se descubrieron las cimas de los montes.

6 S o it came to pass, at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made.

Sucedió que al cabo de cuarenta días abrió Noé la ventana del arca que había hecho

7 T hen he sent out a raven, which kept going to and fro until the waters had dried up from the earth.

y envió un cuervo, el cual salió y estuvo yendo y volviendo hasta que las aguas se secaron sobre la tierra.

8 H e also sent out from himself a dove, to see if the waters had receded from the face of the ground.

Envió también una paloma, para ver si las aguas se habían retirado de sobre la faz de la tierra.

9 B ut the dove found no resting place for the sole of her foot, and she returned into the ark to him, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth. So he put out his hand and took her, and drew her into the ark to himself.

Pero no halló la paloma dónde posarse, y volvió a él, al arca, porque las aguas estaban aún sobre la faz de toda la tierra. Entonces Noé extendió la mano y, tomándola, la hizo entrar consigo en el arca.

10 A nd he waited yet another seven days, and again he sent the dove out from the ark.

Esperó aún otros siete días, y volvió a enviar la paloma fuera del arca.

11 T hen the dove came to him in the evening, and behold, a freshly plucked olive leaf was in her mouth; and Noah knew that the waters had receded from the earth.

La paloma volvió a él a la hora de la tarde trayendo una hoja de olivo en el pico; y supo Noé que las aguas se habían retirado de sobre la tierra.

12 S o he waited yet another seven days and sent out the dove, which did not return again to him anymore.

Esperó aún otros siete días, y envió la paloma, la cual no volvió ya más a él.

13 A nd it came to pass in the six hundred and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, that the waters were dried up from the earth; and Noah removed the covering of the ark and looked, and indeed the surface of the ground was dry.

Sucedió que en el año seiscientos uno de Noé, en el mes primero, el primer día del mes, las aguas se secaron sobre la tierra; y quitó Noé la cubierta del arca, miró y vio que la faz de la tierra estaba seca.

14 A nd in the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth was dried.

En el mes segundo, a los veintisiete días del mes, se secó la tierra.

15 T hen God spoke to Noah, saying,

Entonces dijo Dios a Noé:

16 “ Go out of the ark, you and your wife, and your sons and your sons’ wives with you.

«Sal del arca con tu mujer, tus hijos y las mujeres de tus hijos.

17 B ring out with you every living thing of all flesh that is with you: birds and cattle and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, so that they may abound on the earth, and be fruitful and multiply on the earth.”

También sacarás todos los animales que están contigo de toda especie, de aves, de bestias y de todo reptil que se arrastra sobre la tierra; y vayan por la tierra, fructifiquen y multiplíquense sobre la tierra.»

18 S o Noah went out, and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives with him.

Salió, pues, Noé con sus hijos, su mujer y las mujeres de sus hijos.

19 E very animal, every creeping thing, every bird, and whatever creeps on the earth, according to their families, went out of the ark. God’s Covenant with Creation

Todos los animales, todo reptil y toda ave; todo lo que se mueve sobre la tierra según sus especies, salió del arca.

20 T hen Noah built an altar to the Lord, and took of every clean animal and of every clean bird, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.

Luego edificó Noé un altar a Jehová, y tomando de todo animal limpio y de toda ave limpia, ofreció holocausto en el altar.

21 A nd the Lord smelled a soothing aroma. Then the Lord said in His heart, “I will never again curse the ground for man’s sake, although the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; nor will I again destroy every living thing as I have done.

Al percibir Jehová olor grato, dijo en su corazón: «No volveré a maldecir la tierra por causa del hombre, porque el corazón del hombre se inclina al mal desde su juventud; ni volveré a destruir todo ser viviente, como he hecho.

22 “ While the earth remains, Seedtime and harvest, Cold and heat, Winter and summer, And day and night Shall not cease.”

»Mientras la tierra permanezca no cesarán la sementera y la siega, el frío y el calor, el verano y el invierno, el día y la noche.»
