1 С лед това цар Асуир повиши Аман, сина на агагеца Амитад, въздигна го и постави стола му над столовете на всички първенци, които бяха около него.

After these things did king Ahasuerus promote Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, and advanced him, and set his seat above all the princes that were with him.

2 И всички царски служители, които бяха в царската порта, се навеждаха и се кланяха на Аман; защото царят беше заповядал така за него. Но Мардохей не се навеждаше, нито му се кланяше.

And all the king's servants, that were in the king's gate, bowed, and reverenced Haman: for the king had so commanded concerning him. But Mordecai bowed not, nor did him reverence.

3 З атова царските служители, които бяха в царската порта, казаха на Мардохей: Ти защо престъпваш царската заповед?

Then the king's servants, which were in the king's gate, said unto Mordecai, Why transgressest thou the king's commandment?

4 И като му говореха всеки ден, а той не ги слушаше, съобщиха на Аман, за да видят дали думите на Мардохей ще устоят, тъй като им беше казал, че е юдеин и не се покорява на заповедта.

Now it came to pass, when they spake daily unto him, and he hearkened not unto them, that they told Haman, to see whether Mordecai's matters would stand: for he had told them that he was a Jew.

5 К огато Аман видя, че Мардохей не се навеждаше, нито му се кланяше, Аман се изпълни с ярост.

And when Haman saw that Mordecai bowed not, nor did him reverence, then was Haman full of wrath.

6 Н о мислеше, че да сложи ръка само на Мардохей, ще бъде нещо нищожно; затова, понеже му бяха казали от кой народ беше Мардохей, Аман искаше да изтреби Мардохеевия народ, т. е. всички юдеи, които бяха в цялото царство на Асуир.

And he thought scorn to lay hands on Mordecai alone; for they had shewed him the people of Mordecai: wherefore Haman sought to destroy all the Jews that were throughout the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus, even the people of Mordecai.

7 В първия месец, който е месец Нисан, в дванадесетата година на цар Асуир хвърлиха пур (т. е. жребий) пред Аман последователно за всеки ден от всеки месец, чак до дванадесетия месец, който е месец Адар.

In the first month, that is, the month Nisan, in the twelfth year of king Ahasuerus, they cast Pur, that is, the lot, before Haman from day to day, and from month to month, to the twelfth month, that is, the month Adar.

8 Т огава Аман каза на цар Асуир: Има един народ, пръснат и разсеян между племената по всички области на твоето царство; и законите им се различават от законите на всички народи и те не спазват царските закони; затова не е от полза за царя да ги търпи.

And Haman said unto king Ahasuerus, There is a certain people scattered abroad and dispersed among the people in all the provinces of thy kingdom; and their laws are diverse from all people; neither keep they the king's laws: therefore it is not for the king's profit to suffer them.

9 А ко е удобно на царя, нека бъде предписано да се изтребят; и аз ще броя десет хиляди таланта сребро в ръцете на чиновниците, за да го внесат в царските съкровищници.

If it please the king, let it be written that they may be destroyed: and I will pay ten thousand talents of silver to the hands of those that have the charge of the business, to bring it into the king's treasuries.

10 Ц арят извади пръстена си от ръката си и го даде на Аман, сина на агагеца Амидат, неприятеля на юдеите.

And the king took his ring from his hand, and gave it unto Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, the Jews' enemy.

11 И царят каза на Аман: Дава ти се среброто, също и този народ, да направиш с него, както обичаш.

And the king said unto Haman, The silver is given to thee, the people also, to do with them as it seemeth good to thee.

12 И така, на тринадесетия ден от първия месец царските секретари бяха повикани и бе писано точно според това, което заповяда Аман на царските сатрапи, на управителите на всяка област и на първенците на всеки народ, във всяка област според азбуката им и на всеки народ според езика му; от името на цар Асуир бе писано и бе подпечатано с царския пръстен.

Then were the king's scribes called on the thirteenth day of the first month, and there was written according to all that Haman had commanded unto the king's lieutenants, and to the governors that were over every province, and to the rulers of every people of every province according to the writing thereof, and to every people after their language; in the name of king Ahasuerus was it written, and sealed with the king's ring.

13 И изпратиха писмата с бързоходци по всички царски области, за да погубят, да избият и да изтребят всички юдеи, млади и стари, деца и жени в един ден, тринадесетия от дванадесетия месец, който е месец Адар, и да разграбят имота им.

And the letters were sent by posts into all the king's provinces, to destroy, to kill, and to cause to perish, all Jews, both young and old, little children and women, in one day, even upon the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar, and to take the spoil of them for a prey.

14 П репис от писаното, чрез който щеше да бъде разнесена тази заповед по всяка област, бе обнародван между всички племена, за да бъдат готови за онзи ден.

The copy of the writing for a commandment to be given in every province was published unto all people, that they should be ready against that day.

15 Б ързоходците излязоха и бързаха според царската заповед; указът бе издаден в столицата Суса. А царят и Аман седнаха да пируват; но градът Суса се смути.

The posts went out, being hastened by the king's commandment, and the decree was given in Shushan the palace. And the king and Haman sat down to drink; but the city Shushan was perplexed.
