1 A nd Rachel seeth that she hath not borne to Jacob, and Rachel is envious of her sister, and saith unto Jacob, `Give me sons, and if there is none -- I die.'

А като видя Рахил, че не раждаше деца на Якова, Рахил завидя на сестра си и рече на Якова: Дай ми чада, иначе аз ще умра.

2 A nd Jacob's anger burneth against Rachel, and he saith, `Am I in stead of God who hath withheld from thee the fruit of the womb?'

А Яков се разгневи на Рахил и рече: Нима съм аз, а не Бог, Който е лишил утробата ти от плод?

3 A nd she saith, `Lo, my handmaid Bilhah, go in unto her, and she doth bear on my knees, and I am built up, even I, from her;'

А тя рече: Ето слугинята ми Вала; влез при нея, и тя да роди на коленете ми, та да придобия и аз деца чрез нея.

4 a nd she giveth to him Bilhah her maid-servant for a wife, and Jacob goeth in unto her;

И тъй, тя му даде слугинята си Вала за жена; и Яков влезе при нея.

5 a nd Bilhah conceiveth, and beareth to Jacob a son,

И Вала зачна и роди син на Якова.

6 a nd Rachel saith, `God hath decided for me, and also hath hearkened to my voice, and giveth to me a son;' therefore hath she called his name Dan.

Тогава рече Рахил: Бог отсъди за мене, послуша и гласа ми, та ми даде син; затова го наименува Дан++.

7 A nd Bilhah, Rachel's maid-servant, conceiveth again, and beareth a second son to Jacob,

И Вала, слугинята на Рахил, пак зачна и роди втори син на Якова.

8 a nd Rachel saith, `With wrestlings of God I have wrestled with my sister, yea, I have prevailed;' and she calleth his name Napthali.

Тогава рече Рахил: Силна борба водих със сестра си и надвих; затова го наименува Нефталим

9 A nd Leah seeth that she hath ceased from bearing, and she taketh Zilpah her maid-servant, and giveth her to Jacob for a wife;

Когато видя Лия, че престана да ражда, взе слугинята си Зелфа, та я даде на Якова за жена.

10 a nd Zilpah, Leah's maid-servant, beareth to Jacob a son,

И Зелфа, слугинята на Лия, роди син на Якова.

11 a nd Leah saith, `A troop is coming;' and she calleth his name Gad.

И рече Лия: Щастие дойде; затова го наименува Гад.

12 A nd Zilpah, Leah's maid-servant, beareth a second son to Jacob,

И Зелфа, слугинята на Лия, роди втори син на Якова.

13 a nd Leah saith, `Because of my happiness, for daughters have pronounced me happy;' and she calleth his name Asher.

Тогава рече Лия: Честита съм; защото честита ще ме нарекат жените; затова го наименува Асир

14 A nd Reuben goeth in the days of wheat-harvest, and findeth love-apples in the field, and bringeth them in unto Leah, his mother, and Rachel saith unto Leah, `Give to me, I pray thee, of the love-apples of thy son.'

И през времето на пшеничената жетва, Рувим, като излезе, намери мандрагорови ябълки на полето и ги донесе на майка си Лия; и Рахил рече на Лия: Я ми дай от мандрагоровите ябълки на сина ти.

15 A nd she saith to her, `Is thy taking my husband a little thing, that thou hast taken also the love-apples of my son?' and Rachel saith, `Therefore doth he lie with thee to-night, for thy son's love-apples.'

А тя й рече: Малко ли ти е дето си отнела мъжа ми, та искаш да отнемеш мандрагоровите ябълки на сина ми? Тогава Рахил й рече: Като е тъй, нека лежи с тебе тая нощ за мандрагоровите ябълки на сина ти.

16 A nd Jacob cometh in from the field at evening; and Leah goeth to meet him, and saith, `Unto me dost thou come in, for hiring I have hired thee with my son's love-apples;' and he lieth with her during that night.

И така, когато дойде Яков вечерта от полето, Лия излезе да го посрещне и рече: При мене да влезеш, защото наистина те откупих с мандрагоровите ябълки на сина си. И лежа с нея оная нощ.

17 A nd God hearkeneth unto Leah, and she conceiveth, and beareth to Jacob a son, a fifth,

И Бог послуша Лия; и тя зачна, и роди пети син на Якова.

18 a nd Leah saith, `God hath given my hire, because I have given my maid-servant to my husband;' and she calleth his name Issachar.

Тогава рече Лия:Бог ми даде награда за гдето дадох слугинята си на мъжа си, затова го наименува Исахар+.

19 A nd conceive again doth Leah, and she beareth a sixth son to Jacob,

И Лия пак зачна, и роди шести син на Якова.

20 a nd Leah saith, `God hath endowed me -- a good dowry; this time doth my husband dwell with me, for I have borne to him six sons;' and she calleth his name Zebulun;

И рече Лия: Бог ми даде добър дар, сега мъжът ми ще живее с мене, защото му родих шест сина; затова го наименува Завулон.

21 a nd afterwards hath she born a daughter, and calleth her name Dinah.

И после роди дъщеря, която наименува Дина++.

22 A nd God remembereth Rachel, and God hearkeneth unto her, and openeth her womb,

След това Бог си спомни за Рахил; Бог я послуша и отвори утробата й.

23 a nd she conceiveth and beareth a son, and saith, `God hath gathered up my reproach;'

Тя зачна и роди син, и рече: Бог отне от мене позора.

24 a nd she calleth his name Joseph, saying, `Jehovah is adding to me another son.'

И наименува го Иосиф

25 A nd it cometh to pass, when Rachel hath borne Joseph, that Jacob saith unto Laban, `Send me away, and I go unto my place, and to my land;

А като роди Рахил Иосифа, Яков рече на Лавана: Пусни ме да си отида в моето място и в отечеството си.

26 g ive up my wives and my children, for whom I have served thee, and I go; for thou -- thou hast known my service which I have served thee.'

Дай ми жените и децата ми, за които съм ти работил, за да си отида; защото ти знаеш работата, която ти свърших.

27 A nd Laban saith unto him, `If, I pray thee, I have found grace in thine eyes -- I have observed diligently that Jehovah doth bless me for thy sake.'

А Лаван му рече: Ако съм придобил твоето благоволение, остани, защото разбрах, че Господ ме е благословил заради тебе.

28 H e saith also, `Define thy hire to me, and I give.'

Рече още: Кажи ми каква заплата искаш и ще ти я дам.

29 A nd he saith unto him, `Thou -- thou hast known that which I have served thee, and that which thy substance was with me;

А Яков му каза: Ти знаеш как съм ти работил и как е бил добитъкът ти при мене.

30 f or little which thou hast had at my appearance, and it breaketh forth into a multitude, and Jehovah blesseth thee at my coming; and now, when do I make, I also, for mine own house?'

Защото това, което имаше ти преди моето идване, беше малко; а сега нарасна и стана много. С моето идване Господ те благослови. Но сега, кога ще промисля и за своя си дом?

31 A nd he saith, `What do I give to thee?' And Jacob saith, `Thou dost not give me anything; if thou do for me this thing, I turn back; I have delight; thy flock I watch;

А той рече: Какво да ти дам? И Яков каза: Не ми давай нищо; ако направиш каквото ти кажа, аз пак ще пазя и стадото ти;

32 I pass through all thy flock to-day to turn aside from thence every sheep speckled and spotted, and every brown sheep among the lambs, and speckled and spotted among the goats -- and it hath been my hire;

ще премина днес през цялото ти стадо и ще отлъча от него всяка капчеста и пъстра, и всяка черникава между овците, и всяка пъстра и капчеста между козите; те ще ми бъдат заплатата.

33 a nd my righteousness hath answered for me in the day to come, when it cometh in for my hire before thy face; -- every one which is not speckled and spotted among goats, and brown among lambs -- it is stolen with me.'

И занапред, когато дойдеш да прегледаш заплатата ми, моята правота ще засвидетелствува за мене - всяка коза, която не е капчеста и пъстра, и всяка овца, която не е черна, тя, ако се намери у мене, ще се счита за крадена.

34 A nd Laban saith, `Lo, O that it were according to thy word;'

И рече Лаван: Нека да бъде според както си казал.

35 a nd he turneth aside during that day the ring-straked and the spotted he-goats, and all the speckled and the spotted she-goats, every one that white in it, and every brown one among the lambs, and he giveth into the hand of his sons,

И тъй, в същия ден, Лаван отлъчи нашарените с линии и пъстрите козли, всичките капчести и пъстри кози, всичките, на които имаше бяло и всичките черни между овците, та ги предаде в ръцете на Якововите синове

36 a nd setteth a journey of three days between himself and Jacob; and Jacob is feeding the rest of the flock of Laban.

и постави тридневен път между себе си и Якова; а Яков пасеше останалите от Лавановите стада.

37 A nd Jacob taketh to himself a rod of fresh poplar, and of the hazel and chesnut, and doth peel in them white peelings, making bare the white that on the rods,

Тогава Яков взе зелени пръчки от топола, от леска и от явор, и изряза по тях бели ивици, така щото да се вижда бялото по пръчките.

38 a nd setteth up the rods which he hath peeled in the gutters in the watering troughs (when the flock cometh in to drink), over-against the flock, that they may conceive in their coming in to drink;

Тия пръчки, по които беше изрязал белите ивици, тури пред стадата в коритата, в поилата, дето дохождаха стадата да пият; и, като зачеваха, когато дохождаха да пият,

39 a nd the flocks conceive at the rods, and the flock beareth ring-straked, speckled, and spotted ones.

то стадата зачеваха пред пръчките; и стадата раждаха нашарени с линии, капчести и пъстри.

40 A nd the lambs hath Jacob parted, and he putteth the face of the flock towards the ring-straked, also all the brown in the flock of Laban, and he setteth his own droves by themselves, and hath not set them near Laban's flock.

И Яков отлъчваше агнетата, и обръщаше лицата на овците към нашарените и към всичките черни от Лавановото стадо; а своите стада тури отделно и не ги тури с Лавановите овци.

41 A nd it hath come to pass whenever the strong ones of the flock conceive, that Jacob set the rods before the eyes of the flock in the gutters, to cause them to conceive by the rods,

И когато по-силните овци зачеваха, Яков туряше пръчките в коритата пред очите на стадото, за да зачеват между пръчките.

42 a nd when the flock is feeble, he doth not set; and the feeble ones have been Laban's, and the strong ones Jacob's.

А когато те бяха по-слаби, не ги туряше; така че се падаха по-слабите на Лавана, а по-силните на Якова.

43 A nd the man increaseth very exceedingly, and hath many flocks, and maid-servants, and men-servants, and camels, and asses.

Така човекът забогатя твърде много и придоби големи стада, слугини и слуги, камили и осли.
