1 E n cuanto a los dones espirituales, no quiero, hermanos, que estéis en la ignorancia.

Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware.

2 S abéis que cuando erais gentiles se os extraviaba llevándoos, como se os llevaba, a los ídolos mudos.

You know that when you were pagans, you were led astray to the mute idols, however you were led.

3 P or tanto, os hago saber que nadie que hable por el Espíritu de Dios dice: Jesús es maldito. Y nadie puede decir: Jesús es el Señor, sino por el Espíritu Santo.

Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus is accursed”; and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.

4 A hora bien, hay diversidad de dones, pero el Espíritu es el mismo.

Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit.

5 Y hay diversidad de ministerios, pero el Señor es el mismo.

And there are varieties of ministries, and the same Lord.

6 Y hay diversidad de actividades, pero Dios, que efectúa todas las cosas en todos, es el mismo.

There are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons.

7 P ero a cada uno le es dada la manifestación del Espíritu para provecho común.

But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.

8 P orque a uno es dada por medio del Espíritu palabra de sabiduría; a otro, palabra de conocimiento según el mismo Espíritu;

For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit;

9 a otro, fe, en el mismo Espíritu; y a otro, dones de sanidades, en el mismo Espíritu.

to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit,

10 A otro, el efectuar milagros; a otro, profecía; a otro, discernimiento de espíritus; a otro, diversos géneros de lenguas; y a otro, interpretación de lenguas.

and to another the effecting of miracles, and to another prophecy, and to another the distinguishing of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues.

11 P ero todas estas cosas las efectúa uno y el mismo Espíritu, repartiendo a cada uno en particular según su voluntad.

But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills.

12 P orque así como el cuerpo es uno, y tiene muchos miembros, pero todos los miembros del cuerpo, siendo muchos, son un solo cuerpo, así también Cristo.

For even as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ.

13 P orque por un solo Espíritu fuimos todos bautizados para formar un solo cuerpo, sean judíos o griegos, sean esclavos o libres; y a todos se nos dio a beber de un mismo Espíritu.

For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.

14 P orque, además, el cuerpo no es un solo miembro, sino muchos.

For the body is not one member, but many.

15 S i dijese el pie: Porque no soy mano, no soy del cuerpo, ¿por eso no sería del cuerpo?

If the foot says, “Because I am not a hand, I am not a part of the body,” it is not for this reason any the less a part of the body.

16 Y si dijese la oreja: Porque no soy ojo, no soy del cuerpo, ¿por eso no sería del cuerpo?

And if the ear says, “Because I am not an eye, I am not a part of the body,” it is not for this reason any the less a part of the body.

17 S i todo el cuerpo fuese ojo, ¿dónde estaría el oído? Si todo fuese oído, ¿dónde estaría el olfato?

If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole were hearing, where would the sense of smell be?

18 P ero el hecho es que Dios ha colocado los miembros cada uno de ellos en el cuerpo, como él quiso.

But now God has placed the members, each one of them, in the body, just as He desired.

19 P orque si todos fueran un solo miembro, ¿dónde estaría el cuerpo?

If they were all one member, where would the body be?

20 A hora bien, los miembros son muchos, pero el cuerpo es uno solo.

But now there are many members, but one body.

21 N i el ojo puede decir a la mano: No te necesito, ni tampoco la cabeza a los pies: No tengo necesidad de vosotros.

And the eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you”; or again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.”

22 A ntes bien, los miembros del cuerpo que parecen más débiles, son los más necesarios;

On the contrary, it is much truer that the members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary;

23 y a aquellos del cuerpo que nos parecen menos honrosos, a éstos vestimos con más honra; y los que en nosotros son menos decorosos, se tratan con más decoro.

and those members of the body which we deem less honorable, on these we bestow more abundant honor, and our less presentable members become much more presentable,

24 P orque los que en nosotros son más decorosos, no tienen necesidad; pero Dios dispuso el cuerpo, dando más abundante honor al que le faltaba,

whereas our more presentable members have no need of it. But God has so composed the body, giving more abundant honor to that member which lacked,

25 p ara que no haya desavenencia en el cuerpo, sino que los miembros todos se preocupen los unos por los otros.

so that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another.

26 D e manera que si un miembro padece, todos los miembros se duelen con él, y si un miembro recibe honra, todos los miembros se gozan con él.

And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.

27 A hora bien, vosotros sois el cuerpo de Cristo, y miembros cada uno por su parte.

Now you are Christ’s body, and individually members of it.

28 Y a unos puso Dios en la iglesia, primeramente apóstoles, después profetas, lo tercero maestros, luego poderes milagrosos, después dones de sanidades, ayudas, dotes de gobierno, diversos géneros de lenguas.

And God has appointed in the church, first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, various kinds of tongues.

29 ¿ Acaso son todos apóstoles?; ¿acaso son todos profetas?; ¿acaso son todos maestros?; ¿acaso hacen todos milagros?;

All are not apostles, are they? All are not prophets, are they? All are not teachers, are they? All are not workers of miracles, are they?

30 ¿ acaso tienen todos dones de sanidad?; ¿acaso hablan todos en lenguas?; ¿acaso interpretan todos?

All do not have gifts of healings, do they? All do not speak with tongues, do they? All do not interpret, do they?

31 D esead, pues, celosamente los dones mejores. Y yo os voy a mostrar todavía un camino por excelencia.

But earnestly desire the greater gifts. And I show you a still more excellent way.
