1 E ntonces Salomón reunió ante sí en Jerusalén a los ancianos de Israel, a todos los jefes de las tribus, y a los principales de las familias de los hijos de Israel, para traer el arca del pacto de Jehová desde la ciudad de David, la cual es Sión.

Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel and all the heads of the tribes, the leaders of the fathers’ households of the sons of Israel, to King Solomon in Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord from the city of David, which is Zion.

2 Y se reunieron con el rey Salomón todos los varones de Israel en el mes de Etanim, que es el mes séptimo, en el día de la fiesta solemne.

All the men of Israel assembled themselves to King Solomon at the feast, in the month Ethanim, which is the seventh month.

3 Y vinieron todos los ancianos de Israel, y los sacerdotes tomaron el arca.

Then all the elders of Israel came, and the priests took up the ark.

4 Y llevaron el arca de Jehová, y el tabernáculo de reunión, y todos los utensilios sagrados que estaban en el tabernáculo, los cuales llevaban los sacerdotes y levitas.

They brought up the ark of the Lord and the tent of meeting and all the holy utensils, which were in the tent, and the priests and the Levites brought them up.

5 Y el rey Salomón, y toda la congregación de Israel que se había reunido con él, estaban con él delante del arca, sacrificando ovejas y bueyes, que por la multitud no se podían contar ni calcular.

And King Solomon and all the congregation of Israel, who were assembled to him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing so many sheep and oxen they could not be counted or numbered.

6 Y los sacerdotes metieron el arca del pacto de Jehová en su lugar, en el santuario de la casa, en el lugar santísimo, debajo de las alas de los querubines.

Then the priests brought the ark of the covenant of the Lord to its place, into the inner sanctuary of the house, to the most holy place, under the wings of the cherubim.

7 P orque los querubines tenían extendidas las alas sobre el lugar del arca, y así cubrían los querubines el arca y sus varas por encima.

For the cherubim spread their wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubim made a covering over the ark and its poles from above.

8 Y sacaron las varas, de manera que sus extremos se dejaban ver desde el lugar santo, que está delante del lugar santísimo, pero no se dejaban ver desde más afuera; y así quedaron hasta hoy.

But the poles were so long that the ends of the poles could be seen from the holy place before the inner sanctuary, but they could not be seen outside; they are there to this day.

9 E n el arca ninguna cosa había sino las dos tablas de piedra que allí había puesto Moisés en Horeb, donde Jehová hizo pacto con los hijos de Israel, cuando salieron de la tierra de Egipto.

There was nothing in the ark except the two tablets of stone which Moses put there at Horeb, where the Lord made a covenant with the sons of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.

10 Y cuando los sacerdotes salieron del santuario, la nube llenó la casa de Jehová.

It happened that when the priests came from the holy place, the cloud filled the house of the Lord,

11 Y los sacerdotes no pudieron permanecer para ministrar por causa de la nube; porque la gloria de Jehová había llenado la casa de Jehová. Dedicación del templo

so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled the house of the Lord. Solomon Addresses the People

12 E ntonces dijo Salomón: Jehová ha dicho que él habitaría en la oscuridad densa de la nube.

Then Solomon said, “The Lord has said that He would dwell in the thick cloud.

13 Y o he edificado casa por morada para ti, sitio en que tú habites para siempre.

“ I have surely built You a lofty house, A place for Your dwelling forever.”

14 Y volviendo el rey su rostro, bendijo a toda la congregación de Israel; y toda la congregación de Israel estaba de pie.

Then the king faced about and blessed all the assembly of Israel, while all the assembly of Israel was standing.

15 Y dijo: Bendito sea Jehová, Dios de Israel, que habló a David mi padre lo que con su mano ha cumplido, diciendo:

He said, “ Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, who spoke with His mouth to my father David and has fulfilled it with His hand, saying,

16 D esde el día en que saqué de Egipto a mi pueblo Israel, no he escogido ciudad de todas las tribus de Israel para edificar casa en la cual estuviese mi nombre, aunque escogí a David para que presidiese en mi pueblo Israel.

‘ Since the day that I brought My people Israel from Egypt, I did not choose a city out of all the tribes of Israel in which to build a house that My name might be there, but I chose David to be over My people Israel.’

17 Y David mi padre tuvo en su corazón edificar casa al nombre de Jehová Dios de Israel.

Now it was in the heart of my father David to build a house for the name of the Lord, the God of Israel.

18 P ero Jehová dijo a David mi padre: Cuanto a haber tenido en tu corazón edificar casa a mi nombre, bien has hecho en tener tal deseo.

But the Lord said to my father David, ‘Because it was in your heart to build a house for My name, you did well that it was in your heart.

19 P ero tú no edificarás la casa, sino tu hijo que saldrá de tus lomos, él edificará casa a mi nombre.

Nevertheless you shall not build the house, but your son who will be born to you, he will build the house for My name.’

20 Y Jehová ha cumplido su palabra que había dicho; porque yo me he levantado en lugar de David mi padre, y me he sentado en el trono de Israel, como Jehová había dicho, y he edificado la casa al nombre de Jehová Dios de Israel.

Now the Lord has fulfilled His word which He spoke; for I have risen in place of my father David and sit on the throne of Israel, as the Lord promised, and have built the house for the name of the Lord, the God of Israel.

21 Y he puesto en ella lugar para el arca, en la cual está el pacto de Jehová que él hizo con nuestros padres cuando los sacó de la tierra de Egipto. Oración personal de Salomón

There I have set a place for the ark, in which is the covenant of the Lord, which He made with our fathers when He brought them from the land of Egypt.” The Prayer of Dedication

22 L uego se puso Salomón delante del altar de Jehová, en presencia de toda la congregación de Israel, y extendiendo sus manos al cielo,

Then Solomon stood before the altar of the Lord in the presence of all the assembly of Israel and spread out his hands toward heaven.

23 d ijo: Jehová Dios de Israel, no hay Dios como tú, ni arriba en los cielos ni abajo en la tierra, que guardas el pacto y la misericordia a tus siervos, los que andan delante de ti con todo su corazón;

He said, “O Lord, the God of Israel, there is no God like You in heaven above or on earth beneath, keeping covenant and showing lovingkindness to Your servants who walk before You with all their heart,

24 q ue has cumplido a tu siervo David mi padre lo que le prometiste; lo dijiste con tu boca, y con tu mano lo has cumplido, como sucede en este día.

who have kept with Your servant, my father David, that which You have promised him; indeed, You have spoken with Your mouth and have fulfilled it with Your hand as it is this day.

25 A hora, pues, Jehová Dios de Israel, cumple a tu siervo David mi padre lo que le prometiste, diciendo: No te faltará varón delante de mí, que se siente en el trono de Israel, con tal que tus hijos guarden mi camino y anden delante de mí como tú has andado delante de mí.

Now therefore, O Lord, the God of Israel, keep with Your servant David my father that which You have promised him, saying, ‘ You shall not lack a man to sit on the throne of Israel, if only your sons take heed to their way to walk before Me as you have walked.’

26 A hora, pues, oh Jehová Dios de Israel, cúmplase la palabra que dijiste a tu siervo David mi padre.

Now therefore, O God of Israel, let Your word, I pray, be confirmed which You have spoken to Your servant, my father David.

27 P ero ¿es verdad que Dios morará sobre la tierra? He aquí que los cielos, los cielos de los cielos, no te pueden contener; ¿cuánto menos esta casa que yo he edificado?

“But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain You, how much less this house which I have built!

28 C on todo, tú atenderás a la oración de tu siervo, y a su plegaria, oh Jehová Dios mío, oyendo el clamor y la oración que tu siervo hace hoy delante de ti;

Yet have regard to the prayer of Your servant and to his supplication, O Lord my God, to listen to the cry and to the prayer which Your servant prays before You today;

29 q ue estén tus ojos abiertos de noche y de día sobre esta casa, sobre este lugar del cual has dicho: Mi nombre estará allí; y que oigas la oración que tu siervo haga en este lugar. Súplicas por el pueblo

that Your eyes may be open toward this house night and day, toward the place of which You have said, ‘My name shall be there,’ to listen to the prayer which Your servant shall pray toward this place.

30 O ye, pues, la oración de tu siervo, y de tu pueblo Israel; cuando oren en este lugar, también tú lo oirás en el lugar de tu morada, en los cielos; escucha y perdona.

Listen to the supplication of Your servant and of Your people Israel, when they pray toward this place; hear in heaven Your dwelling place; hear and forgive.

31 S i alguno peca contra su prójimo, y le toman juramento haciéndole jurar, y viene el juramento delante de tu altar en esta casa;

“ If a man sins against his neighbor and is made to take an oath, and he comes and takes an oath before Your altar in this house,

32 t ú oirás desde el cielo y actuarás, y juzgarás a tus siervos, condenando al impío y haciendo recaer su proceder sobre su cabeza, y justificando al justo para darle conforme a su justicia.

then hear in heaven and act and judge Your servants, condemning the wicked by bringing his way on his own head and justifying the righteous by giving him according to his righteousness.

33 S i tu pueblo Israel es derrotado delante de sus enemigos por haber pecado contra ti, y se vuelven a ti y confiesan tu nombre, y oran y te ruegan y suplican en esta casa,

“ When Your people Israel are defeated before an enemy, because they have sinned against You, if they turn to You again and confess Your name and pray and make supplication to You in this house,

34 t ú oirás en los cielos, y perdonarás el pecado de tu pueblo Israel, y los volverás a la tierra que diste a sus padres.

then hear in heaven, and forgive the sin of Your people Israel, and bring them back to the land which You gave to their fathers.

35 S i el cielo se cierra y no llueve, por haber ellos pecado contra ti, y te ruegan en este lugar y confiesan tu nombre, y se vuelven del pecado, cuando los aflijas,

“ When the heavens are shut up and there is no rain, because they have sinned against You, and they pray toward this place and confess Your name and turn from their sin when You afflict them,

36 t ú oirás en los cielos, y perdonarás el pecado de tus siervos y de tu pueblo Israel, enseñándoles el buen camino en que anden; y darás lluvias sobre tu tierra, la cual diste a tu pueblo por heredad.

then hear in heaven and forgive the sin of Your servants and of Your people Israel, indeed, teach them the good way in which they should walk. And send rain on Your land, which You have given Your people for an inheritance.

37 S i en la tierra hay hambre, pestilencia, tizoncillo, añublo, langosta o pulgón; si sus enemigos los sitian en la tierra en donde habiten; cualquier plaga o enfermedad que sea;

“ If there is famine in the land, if there is pestilence, if there is blight or mildew, locust or grasshopper, if their enemy besieges them in the land of their cities, whatever plague, whatever sickness there is,

38 t oda oración y toda súplica que haga cualquier hombre, o todo tu pueblo Israel, cuando cualquiera sienta la plaga en su corazón, y extienda sus manos a esta casa,

whatever prayer or supplication is made by any man or by all Your people Israel, each knowing the affliction of his own heart, and spreading his hands toward this house;

39 t ú oirás en los cielos, en el lugar de tu morada, y perdonarás, y actuarás, y darás a cada uno conforme a sus caminos, cuyo corazón tú conoces (porque sólo tú conoces el corazón de todos los hijos de los hombres);

then hear in heaven Your dwelling place, and forgive and act and render to each according to all his ways, whose heart You know, for You alone know the hearts of all the sons of men,

40 p ara que te teman todos los días que vivan sobre la faz de la tierra que tú diste a nuestros padres. Suplementos

that they may fear You all the days that they live in the land which You have given to our fathers.

41 A simismo el extranjero, que no es de tu pueblo Israel, que venga de lejanas tierras a causa de tu nombre

“Also concerning the foreigner who is not of Your people Israel, when he comes from a far country for Your name’s sake

42 ( pues oirán de tu gran nombre, de tu mano fuerte y de tu brazo extendido), y venga a orar a esta casa,

(for they will hear of Your great name and Your mighty hand, and of Your outstretched arm); when he comes and prays toward this house,

43 t ú oirás en los cielos, en el lugar de tu morada, y harás conforme a todo aquello por lo cual el extranjero haya clamado a ti, para que todos los pueblos de la tierra conozcan tu nombre y te teman, como tu pueblo Israel, y entiendan que tu nombre es invocado sobre esta casa que yo edifiqué.

hear in heaven Your dwelling place, and do according to all for which the foreigner calls to You, in order that all the peoples of the earth may know Your name, to fear You, as do Your people Israel, and that they may know that this house which I have built is called by Your name.

44 S i tu pueblo sale a la batalla contra sus enemigos por el camino que tú les mandes, y oran a Jehová con el rostro hacia la ciudad que tú elegiste, y hacia la casa que yo edifiqué a tu nombre,

“When Your people go out to battle against their enemy, by whatever way You shall send them, and they pray to the Lord toward the city which You have chosen and the house which I have built for Your name,

45 t ú oirás en los cielos su oración y su súplica, y les harás justicia.

then hear in heaven their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause.

46 S i pecan contra ti (porque no hay hombre que no peque), y estás tú irritado contra ellos, y los entregas delante del enemigo, para que los cautive y lleve a tierra enemiga, sea lejos o cerca,

“When they sin against You (for there is no man who does not sin) and You are angry with them and deliver them to an enemy, so that they take them away captive to the land of the enemy, far off or near;

47 y ellos vuelven en sí en la tierra donde estén cautivos; si se convierten, y oran a ti en la tierra de los que los cautivaron, y dicen: Pecamos, hemos hecho lo malo, hemos cometido impiedad;

if they take thought in the land where they have been taken captive, and repent and make supplication to You in the land of those who have taken them captive, saying, ‘ We have sinned and have committed iniquity, we have acted wickedly’;

48 y si se convierten a ti de todo su corazón y de toda su alma, en la tierra de sus enemigos que los hayan llevado cautivos, y oran a ti con el rostro hacia su tierra que tú diste a sus padres, y hacia la ciudad que tú elegiste y la casa que yo he edificado a tu nombre,

if they return to You with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their enemies who have taken them captive, and pray to You toward their land which You have given to their fathers, the city which You have chosen, and the house which I have built for Your name;

49 t ú oirás en los cielos, en el lugar de tu morada, su oración y su súplica, y les harás justicia.

then hear their prayer and their supplication in heaven Your dwelling place, and maintain their cause,

50 Y perdonarás a tu pueblo que había pecado contra ti, y todas sus infracciones con que se hayan rebelado contra ti, y harás que tengan de ellos misericordia los que los hayan llevado cautivos;

and forgive Your people who have sinned against You and all their transgressions which they have transgressed against You, and make them objects of compassion before those who have taken them captive, that they may have compassion on them

51 p orque ellos son tu pueblo y tu heredad, que tú sacaste de Egipto, de en medio del horno de hierro.

( for they are Your people and Your inheritance which You have brought forth from Egypt, from the midst of the iron furnace),

52 E stén, pues, atentos tus ojos a la oración de tu siervo y la plegaria de tu pueblo Israel, para oírlos en todo aquello por lo cual te invoquen;

that Your eyes may be open to the supplication of Your servant and to the supplication of Your people Israel, to listen to them whenever they call to You.

53 p orque tú los apartaste para ti como heredad tuya de entre todos los pueblos de la tierra, como lo dijiste por medio de Moisés tu siervo, cuando sacaste a nuestros padres de Egipto, oh Señor Jehová. Bendición final

For You have separated them from all the peoples of the earth as Your inheritance, as You spoke through Moses Your servant, when You brought our fathers forth from Egypt, O Lord God.” Solomon’s Benediction

54 C uando acabó Salomón de hacer a Jehová toda esta oración y súplica, se levantó de estar de rodillas delante del altar de Jehová con sus manos extendidas al cielo;

When Solomon had finished praying this entire prayer and supplication to the Lord, he arose from before the altar of the Lord, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread toward heaven.

55 y puesto en pie, bendijo a toda la congregación de Israel, diciendo en voz alta:

And he stood and blessed all the assembly of Israel with a loud voice, saying:

56 B endito sea Jehová, que ha dado paz a su pueblo Israel, conforme a todo lo que él había dicho; ninguna palabra de todas sus promesas que expresó por Moisés su siervo, ha faltado.

“Blessed be the Lord, who has given rest to His people Israel, according to all that He promised; not one word has failed of all His good promise, which He promised through Moses His servant.

57 E sté con nosotros Jehová nuestro Dios, como estuvo con nuestros padres, y no nos desampare ni nos deje.

May the Lord our God be with us, as He was with our fathers; may He not leave us or forsake us,

58 I ncline nuestro corazón hacia él, para que andemos en todos sus caminos, y guardemos sus mandamientos y sus estatutos y sus decretos, los cuales mandó a nuestros padres.

that He may incline our hearts to Himself, to walk in all His ways and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His ordinances, which He commanded our fathers.

59 Y estas mis palabras con que he orado delante de Jehová, permanezcan cerca de Jehová nuestro Dios de día y de noche, para que él proteja la causa de su siervo y de su pueblo Israel, según la necesidad de cada día;

And may these words of mine, with which I have made supplication before the Lord, be near to the Lord our God day and night, that He may maintain the cause of His servant and the cause of His people Israel, as each day requires,

60 a fin de que todos los pueblos de la tierra sepan que Jehová es Dios, y que no hay otro.

so that all the peoples of the earth may know that the Lord is God; there is no one else.

61 S ea, pues, perfecto vuestro corazón para con Jehová nuestro Dios, andando en sus estatutos y guardando sus mandamientos, como en el día de hoy.

Let your heart therefore be wholly devoted to the Lord our God, to walk in His statutes and to keep His commandments, as at this day.” Dedicatory Sacrifices

62 E ntonces el rey, y todo Israel con él, sacrificaron víctimas delante de Jehová.

Now the king and all Israel with him offered sacrifice before the Lord.

63 Y ofreció Salomón sacrificios de paz, los cuales ofreció a Jehová, veintidós mil bueyes y ciento veinte mil ovejas. Así dedicaron el rey y todos los hijos de Israel la casa de Jehová.

Solomon offered for the sacrifice of peace offerings, which he offered to the Lord, 22, 000 oxen and 120, 000 sheep. So the king and all the sons of Israel dedicated the house of the Lord.

64 A quel mismo día santificó el rey el interior del atrio, que estaba delante de la casa de Jehová; porque ofreció allí los holocaustos, las ofrendas y las grasas de los sacrificios de paz, por cuanto el altar de bronce que estaba delante de Jehová era pequeño, y no cabían en él los holocaustos, las ofrendas y las grasas de los sacrificios de paz.

On the same day the king consecrated the middle of the court that was before the house of the Lord, because there he offered the burnt offering and the grain offering and the fat of the peace offerings; for the bronze altar that was before the Lord was too small to hold the burnt offering and the grain offering and the fat of the peace offerings.

65 E n aquel tiempo celebró Salomón la fiesta, y con él todo Israel, en una magna asamblea de israelitas procedentes desde Hamat hasta la entrada del río de Egipto, delante de Jehová nuestro Dios, por siete días y la prolongó por otros siete días, esto es, por catorce días en total.

So Solomon observed the feast at that time, and all Israel with him, a great assembly from the entrance of Hamath to the brook of Egypt, before the Lord our God, for seven days and seven more days, even fourteen days.

66 A l octavo día despidió al pueblo; y ellos, bendiciendo al rey, se fueron a sus moradas, alegres y gozosos de corazón, por todos los beneficios que Jehová había hecho a David su siervo y a su pueblo Israel.

On the eighth day he sent the people away and they blessed the king. Then they went to their tents joyful and glad of heart for all the goodness that the Lord had shown to David His servant and to Israel His people.
