1 ¡ Ay de los hijos rebeldes, dice Jehová, para tomar consejo, pero no de mí; que traman proyectos, pero no de mi espíritu, añadiendo pecado a pecado!

2 Q ue se apartan para descender a Egipto, y no han consultado mi boca; para fortalecerse con la fuerza de Faraón, y refugiarse en la sombra de Egipto.

Who proceed down to Egypt Without consulting Me, To take refuge in the safety of Pharaoh And to seek shelter in the shadow of Egypt!

3 P ero la fuerza de Faraón se os cambiará en vergüenza; y el amparo en la sombra de Egipto, en confusión.

“Therefore the safety of Pharaoh will be your shame And the shelter in the shadow of Egypt, your humiliation.

4 A unque estén sus príncipes en Zoán, y sus embajadores lleguen a Hanés,

5 t odos se avergonzarán del pueblo que no les aprovecha; no los socorre, ni les trae provecho; sino que les sirve de vergüenza y aun de oprobio.

6 P rofecía sobre las bestias del Négueb: Por tierra de tribulación y de angustia, de donde salen la leona y el león, la víbora y la serpiente que vuela, llevan sobre lomos de asnos sus riquezas, y sus tesoros sobre jorobas de camellos, a un pueblo que no les será de provecho.

11 d ejad ese camino, apartaos de esa senda, cesad de confrontarnos con el Santo de Israel.

“Get out of the way, turn aside from the path, Let us hear no more about the Holy One of Israel.”

12 P or tanto, el Santo de Israel dice así: Porque desechasteis esta palabra, y confiasteis en opresión y en perversidad, y en ello os habéis apoyado;

Therefore thus says the Holy One of Israel, “ Since you have rejected this word And have put your trust in oppression and guile, and have relied on them,

13 p or tanto, os será este pecado como grieta que amenaza ruina, extendiéndose en una pared elevada, cuya caída viene súbita y repentinamente.

Therefore this iniquity will be to you Like a breach about to fall, A bulge in a high wall, Whose collapse comes suddenly in an instant,

14 Y se quebrará como se quiebra un vaso de alfarero, que sin misericordia lo hacen pedazos; tanto, que entre los pedazos no se halla ni un cascote para traer fuego del hogar, o para sacar agua del pozo.

Whose collapse is like the smashing of a potter’s jar, So ruthlessly shattered That a sherd will not be found among its pieces To take fire from a hearth Or to scoop water from a cistern.”

15 P orque así dijo Jehová el Señor, el Santo de Israel: En descanso y en reposo seréis salvos; en quietud y en confianza será vuestra fortaleza. Y no aceptasteis,

16 s ino que dijisteis: No, sino que huiremos en caballos; por tanto, vosotros huiréis. Y: Sobre corceles veloces cabalgaremos; por tanto, serán veloces vuestros perseguidores.

And you said, “No, for we will flee on horses,” Therefore you shall flee! “And we will ride on swift horses,” Therefore those who pursue you shall be swift.

18 C on todo eso, Jehová aguardará para otorgaros su gracia, y, por tanto, será exaltado para compadecerse de vosotros; porque Jehová es un Dios de justicia; dichosos cuantos esperan en él.

23 E ntonces dará el Señor lluvia a tu sementera, con la que hayas sembrado la tierra, y dará pan del fruto de la tierra, y será abundante y pingüe; tus ganados en aquel tiempo serán apacentados en espaciosas dehesas.

Then He will give you rain for the seed which you will sow in the ground, and bread from the yield of the ground, and it will be rich and plenteous; on that day your livestock will graze in a roomy pasture.

24 T us bueyes y tus asnos que labran la tierra comerán pienso sabroso, aventado con pala y criba.

Also the oxen and the donkeys which work the ground will eat salted fodder, which has been winnowed with shovel and fork.

25 Y sobre todo monte alto, y sobre todo collado elevado, habrá ríos y corrientes de aguas el día de la gran matanza, cuando caerán las torres.

On every lofty mountain and on every high hill there will be streams running with water on the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall.

His breath is like an overflowing torrent, Which reaches to the neck, To shake the nations back and forth in a sieve, And to put in the jaws of the peoples the bridle which leads to ruin.

29 V osotros tendréis un cántico como en la noche en que se celebra pascua; y alegría de corazón, como el que, al son de la flauta, se llega al monte de Jehová, a la Roca de Israel.

You will have songs as in the night when you keep the festival, And gladness of heart as when one marches to the sound of the flute, To go to the mountain of the Lord, to the Rock of Israel.

30 Y Jehová hará oír su majestuosa voz, y hará ver cómo desciende su brazo, con ira encendida y llama de fuego consumidor, con torbellino, tempestad y piedra de granizo.

And the Lord will cause His voice of authority to be heard, And the descending of His arm to be seen in fierce anger, And in the flame of a consuming fire In cloudburst, downpour and hailstones.

31 P orque con la voz de Jehová será quebrantada Asiria; con una vara la herirá.

For at the voice of the Lord Assyria will be terrified, When He strikes with the rod.

32 Y cada golpe de la vara justiciera que asiente Jehová sobre ella, será con panderos y con arpas; y en batalla tumultuosa peleará contra ellos.

And every blow of the rod of punishment, Which the Lord will lay on him, Will be with the music of tambourines and lyres; And in battles, brandishing weapons, He will fight them.

33 P orque hace tiempo que hay un lugar de sacrificio dispuesto y preparado para el rey, profundo y ancho, cuya pira es de fuego, y mucha leña; el soplo de Jehová, como torrente de azufre, lo enciende.

For Topheth has long been ready, Indeed, it has been prepared for the king. He has made it deep and large, A pyre of fire with plenty of wood; The breath of the Lord, like a torrent of brimstone, sets it afire.
