1 Y vino palabra de Jehová a Jehú hijo de Hanani contra Basá, diciendo:

Now the word of the Lord came to Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha, saying,

2 P or cuanto yo te levanté del polvo y te puse por príncipe sobre mi pueblo Israel, y has andado en el camino de Jeroboam, y has hecho pecar a mi pueblo Israel, provocándome a ira con tus pecados;

“Inasmuch as I exalted you from the dust and made you leader over My people Israel, and you have walked in the way of Jeroboam and have made My people Israel sin, provoking Me to anger with their sins,

3 h e aquí yo barreré la posteridad de Basá; y pondré su casa como la casa de Jeroboam hijo de Nebat.

behold, I will consume Baasha and his house, and I will make your house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat.

4 E l que de Basá muera en la ciudad, lo comerán los perros; y el que de él muera en el campo, lo comerán las aves del cielo.

Anyone of Baasha who dies in the city the dogs will eat, and anyone of his who dies in the field the birds of the heavens will eat.”

5 L os demás hechos de Basá, y las cosas que hizo, y su poderío, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel?

Now the rest of the acts of Baasha and what he did and his might, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel? The Israelite Kings

6 Y durmió Basá con sus padres, y fue sepultado en Tirsá, y reinó en su lugar Elá su hijo.

And Baasha slept with his fathers and was buried in Tirzah, and Elah his son became king in his place.

7 P ues la palabra de Jehová por el profeta Jehú hijo de Hanani había sido contra Basá y también contra su casa, con motivo de todo lo malo que hizo ante los ojos de Jehová, provocándole a ira con las obras de sus manos, para que fuese hecha como la casa de Jeroboam; y también por haber exterminado a ésta. Reinados de Elá y de Zimrí

Moreover, the word of the Lord through the prophet Jehu the son of Hanani also came against Baasha and his household, both because of all the evil which he did in the sight of the Lord, provoking Him to anger with the work of his hands, in being like the house of Jeroboam, and because he struck it.

8 E n el año veintiséis de Asá rey de Judá comenzó a reinar Elá hijo de Basá sobre Israel en Tirsá; y reinó dos años.

In the twenty-sixth year of Asa king of Judah, Elah the son of Baasha became king over Israel at Tirzah, and reigned two years.

9 Y conspiró contra él su siervo Zimrí, comandante de la mitad de los carros. Estando él en Tirsá, bebiendo y embriagado en casa de Arsá su mayordomo,

His servant Zimri, commander of half his chariots, conspired against him. Now he was at Tirzah drinking himself drunk in the house of Arza, who was over the household at Tirzah.

10 v ino Zimrí y lo hirió y lo mató, en el año veintisiete de Asá rey de Judá; y reinó en lugar suyo.

Then Zimri went in and struck him and put him to death in the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, and became king in his place.

11 Y luego que llegó a reinar y estuvo sentado en su trono, mató a toda la casa de Basá, sin dejar en ella varón, ni parientes ni amigos.

It came about when he became king, as soon as he sat on his throne, that he killed all the household of Baasha; he did not leave a single male, neither of his relatives nor of his friends.

12 A sí exterminó Zimrí a toda la casa de Basá, conforme a la palabra que Jehová había proferido contra Basá por medio del profeta Jehú,

Thus Zimri destroyed all the household of Baasha, according to the word of the Lord, which He spoke against Baasha through Jehu the prophet,

13 p or todos los pecados de Basá y los pecados de Elá su hijo, con los cuales ellos pecaron e hicieron pecar a Israel, provocando a enojo con sus vanidades a Jehová Dios de Israel.

for all the sins of Baasha and the sins of Elah his son, which they sinned and which they made Israel sin, provoking the Lord God of Israel to anger with their idols.

14 L os demás hechos de Elá, y todo lo que hizo, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel?

Now the rest of the acts of Elah and all that he did, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?

15 E n el año veintisiete de Asá rey de Judá, comenzó a reinar Zimrí, y reinó siete días en Tirsá; y el pueblo había acampado contra Gibetón, ciudad de los filisteos.

In the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, Zimri reigned seven days at Tirzah. Now the people were camped against Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines.

16 Y el pueblo que estaba en el campamento oyó decir: Zimrí ha conspirado, y ha dado muerte al rey. Entonces todo Israel puso aquel mismo día por rey sobre Israel a Omrí, general del ejército, en el campo de batalla.

The people who were camped heard it said, “Zimri has conspired and has also struck down the king.” Therefore all Israel made Omri, the commander of the army, king over Israel that day in the camp.

17 Y subió Omrí de Gibetón, y con él todo Israel, y sitiaron a Tirsá.

Then Omri and all Israel with him went up from Gibbethon and besieged Tirzah.

18 M as viendo Zimrí tomada la ciudad, se metió en el palacio de la casa real, y prendió fuego a la casa consigo; y así murió,

When Zimri saw that the city was taken, he went into the citadel of the king’s house and burned the king’s house over him with fire, and died,

19 p or los pecados que había cometido, haciendo lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová, y andando en los caminos de Jeroboam, y en su pecado que cometió, haciendo pecar a Israel.

because of his sins which he sinned, doing evil in the sight of the Lord, walking in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin which he did, making Israel sin.

20 E l resto de los hechos de Zimrí, y la conspiración que hizo, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel? Reinado de Omrí

Now the rest of the acts of Zimri and his conspiracy which he carried out, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?

21 E ntonces el pueblo de Israel fue dividido en dos partes: la mitad del pueblo seguía a Tibní hijo de Ginat para hacerlo rey, y la otra mitad seguía a Omrí.

Then the people of Israel were divided into two parts: half of the people followed Tibni the son of Ginath, to make him king; the other half followed Omri.

22 M as el pueblo que seguía a Omrí pudo más que el que seguía a Tibní hijo de Ginat; y Tibní murió, y Omrí fue rey.

But the people who followed Omri prevailed over the people who followed Tibni the son of Ginath. And Tibni died and Omri became king.

23 E n el año treinta y uno de Asá rey de Judá, comenzó a reinar Omrí sobre Israel, y reinó doce años; en Tirsá reinó seis años.

In the thirty-first year of Asa king of Judah, Omri became king over Israel and reigned twelve years; he reigned six years at Tirzah.

24 Y Omrí compró a Sémer el monte de Samaria por dos talentos de plata, y edificó en el monte; y llamó el nombre de la ciudad que edificó, Samaria, del nombre de Sémer, que fue dueño de aquel monte.

He bought the hill Samaria from Shemer for two talents of silver; and he built on the hill, and named the city which he built Samaria, after the name of Shemer, the owner of the hill.

25 Y Omrí hizo lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová, e hizo peor que todos los que habían reinado antes de él;

Omri did evil in the sight of the Lord, and acted more wickedly than all who were before him.

26 p ues anduvo en todos los caminos de Jeroboam hijo de Nebat, y en el pecado con el cual hizo pecar a Israel, provocando a ira a Jehová Dios de Israel con sus ídolos.

For he walked in all the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat and in his sins which he made Israel sin, provoking the Lord God of Israel with their idols.

27 L os demás hechos de Omrí, y todo lo que hizo, y las valentías que ejecutó, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel?

Now the rest of the acts of Omri which he did and his might which he showed, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?

28 Y Omrí durmió con sus padres, y fue sepultado en Samaria, y reinó en lugar suyo Acab su hijo. Reinado de Acab

So Omri slept with his fathers and was buried in Samaria; and Ahab his son became king in his place.

29 C omenzó a reinar Acab hijo de Omrí sobre Israel el año treinta y ocho de Asá rey de Judá.

Now Ahab the son of Omri became king over Israel in the thirty-eighth year of Asa king of Judah, and Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty-two years.

30 Y reinó Acab hijo de Omrí sobre Israel en Samaria veintidós años. Y Acab hijo de Omrí hizo lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová, más que todos los que reinaron antes de él.

Ahab the son of Omri did evil in the sight of the Lord more than all who were before him.

31 P orque le fue ligera cosa andar en los pecados de Jeroboam hijo de Nebat, y tomó por mujer a Jezabel, hija de Et-baal rey de los sidonios, y fue y sirvió a Baal, y lo adoró.

It came about, as though it had been a trivial thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he married Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Sidonians, and went to serve Baal and worshiped him.

32 E hizo altar a Baal, en el templo de Baal que él edificó en Samaria.

So he erected an altar for Baal in the house of Baal which he built in Samaria.

33 H izo también Acab una imagen de Aserá, haciendo así Acab más que todos los reyes de Israel que reinaron antes que él, para provocar la ira de Jehová Dios de Israel.

Ahab also made the Asherah. Thus Ahab did more to provoke the Lord God of Israel than all the kings of Israel who were before him.

34 E n su tiempo Hiel de Betel reedificó a Jericó. A precio de la vida de Abiram su primogénito echó el cimiento, y a precio de la vida de Segub su hijo menor puso sus puertas, conforme a la palabra que Jehová había hablado por Josué hijo de Nun.

In his days Hiel the Bethelite built Jericho; he laid its foundations with the loss of Abiram his firstborn, and set up its gates with the loss of his youngest son Segub, according to the word of the Lord, which He spoke by Joshua the son of Nun.
