1 H abló Jehová a Moisés en el desierto de Sinay, en el tabernáculo de reunión, en el día primero del mes segundo, en el segundo año de su salida de la tierra de Egipto, diciendo:

Then the Lord spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the tent of meeting, on the first of the second month, in the second year after they had come out of the land of Egypt, saying,

“ Take a census of all the congregation of the sons of Israel, by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, every male, head by head

3 D e veinte años arriba, todos los que pueden salir a la guerra en Israel, los contaréis tú y Aarón por sus ejércitos.

from twenty years old and upward, whoever is able to go out to war in Israel, you and Aaron shall number them by their armies.

4 Y estará con vosotros un varón de cada tribu, cada uno jefe de la casa de sus padres.

With you, moreover, there shall be a man of each tribe, each one head of his father’s household.

5 E stos son los nombres de los varones que estarán con vosotros: De la tribu de Rubén, Elisur hijo de Sedeur.

These then are the names of the men who shall stand with you: of Reuben, Elizur the son of Shedeur;

6 D e Simeón, Selumiel hijo de Zurisaday.

of Simeon, Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai;

7 D e Judá, Naasón hijo de Aminadab.

of Judah, Nahshon the son of Amminadab;

8 D e Isacar, Natanael hijo de Zuar.

of Issachar, Nethanel the son of Zuar;

9 D e Zabulón, Eliab hijo de Helón.

of Zebulun, Eliab the son of Helon;

10 D e los hijos de José: de Efraín, Elisamá hijo de Amiud; de Manasés, Gamaliel hijo de Pedasur.

of the sons of Joseph: of Ephraim, Elishama the son of Ammihud; of Manasseh, Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur;

11 D e Benjamín, Abidán hijo de Guideoní.

of Benjamin, Abidan the son of Gideoni;

12 D e Dan, Ahiezer hijo de Amisaday.

of Dan, Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai;

13 D e Aser, Pagiel hijo de Ocrán.

of Asher, Pagiel the son of Ochran;

14 D e Gad, Eliasaf hijo de Deuel.

of Gad, Eliasaph the son of Deuel;

15 D e Neftalí, Ahirá hijo de Enán.

of Naphtali, Ahira the son of Enan.

16 E stos eran los nombrados de entre la congregación, príncipes de las tribus de sus padres, capitanes de los millares de Israel.

These are they who were called of the congregation, the leaders of their fathers’ tribes; they were the heads of divisions of Israel.”

17 T omaron, pues, Moisés y Aarón a estos varones que fueron designados por sus nombres,

So Moses and Aaron took these men who had been designated by name,

18 y reunieron a toda la congregación en el día primero del mes segundo, y fueron agrupados por familias, según las casas de sus padres, conforme a la cuenta de los nombres de cada uno, de veinte años arriba.

and they assembled all the congregation together on the first of the second month. Then they registered by ancestry in their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, head by head,

just as the Lord had commanded Moses. So he numbered them in the wilderness of Sinai.

20 D e los hijos de Rubén, primogénito de Israel, por su descendencia, por sus familias, según las casas de sus padres, conforme a la cuenta de los nombres de cada uno, todos los varones de veinte años arriba, todos los que podían salir a la guerra;

Now the sons of Reuben, Israel’s firstborn, their genealogical registration by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, head by head, every male from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go out to war,

21 l os contados de la tribu de Rubén fueron cuarenta y seis mil quinientos.

their numbered men of the tribe of Reuben were 46, 500.

22 D e los hijos de Simeón, por su descendencia, por sus familias, según las casas de sus padres, fueron contados conforme a la cuenta de los nombres de cada uno, todos los varones de veinte años arriba, todos los que podían salir a la guerra;

43 l os contados de la tribu de Neftalí fueron cincuenta y tres mil cuatrocientos.

their numbered men of the tribe of Naphtali were 53, 400.

44 E stos fueron los contados, los cuales contaron Moisés y Aarón, con los príncipes de Israel, doce varones, uno por cada tribu de sus padres.

These are the ones who were numbered, whom Moses and Aaron numbered, with the leaders of Israel, twelve men, each of whom was of his father’s household.

45 Y todos los contados de los hijos de Israel por las casas de sus padres, de veinte años arriba, todos los que podían salir a la guerra en Israel,

So all the numbered men of the sons of Israel by their fathers’ households, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go out to war in Israel,

46 f ueron todos los contados seiscientos tres mil quinientos cincuenta. Estatuto de los levitas

even all the numbered men were 603, 550. Levites Exempted

47 P ero los levitas, según la tribu de sus padres, no fueron contados entre ellos;

The Levites, however, were not numbered among them by their fathers’ tribe.

48 p orque habló Jehová a Moisés, diciendo:

For the Lord had spoken to Moses, saying,

49 S olamente no contarás la tribu de Leví, ni tomarás la cuenta de ellos entre los hijos de Israel,

“Only the tribe of Levi you shall not number, nor shall you take their census among the sons of Israel.

50 s ino que pondrás a los levitas en el tabernáculo del testimonio, y sobre todos sus utensilios, y sobre todas las cosas que le pertenecen; ellos llevarán el tabernáculo y todos sus enseres, y ellos servirán en él, y acamparán alrededor del tabernáculo.

But you shall appoint the Levites over the tabernacle of the testimony, and over all its furnishings and over all that belongs to it. They shall carry the tabernacle and all its furnishings, and they shall take care of it; they shall also camp around the tabernacle.

51 Y cuando el tabernáculo haya de trasladarse, los levitas lo desarmarán, y cuando el tabernáculo haya de detenerse, los levitas lo armarán; y el extraño que se acerque morirá.

So when the tabernacle is to set out, the Levites shall take it down; and when the tabernacle encamps, the Levites shall set it up. But the layman who comes near shall be put to death.

52 L os hijos de Israel acamparán cada uno en su campamento, y cada uno junto a su bandera, por sus ejércitos;

The sons of Israel shall camp, each man by his own camp, and each man by his own standard, according to their armies.

53 p ero los levitas acamparán alrededor del tabernáculo del testimonio, para que no haya ira sobre la congregación de los hijos de Israel; y los levitas tendrán la guarda del tabernáculo del testimonio.

But the Levites shall camp around the tabernacle of the testimony, so that there will be no wrath on the congregation of the sons of Israel. So the Levites shall keep charge of the tabernacle of the testimony.”

54 E hicieron los hijos de Israel conforme a todas las cosas que mandó Jehová a Moisés; así lo hicieron.

Thus the sons of Israel did; according to all which the Lord had commanded Moses, so they did.
