1 C arga del desierto del mar. Como los torbellinos que pasan por el desierto en la región del Mediodía, así vienen de la tierra horrenda.

The burden of the wilderness of the sea. As whirlwinds in the South sweep through, it cometh from the wilderness, from a terrible land.

2 V isión dura me ha sido mostrada. Para un prevaricador otro prevaricador; y para un destructor otro destructor. Sube, Elam; cerca, Media. Todo su gemido hice cesar.

A grievous vision is declared unto me; the treacherous man dealeth treacherously, and the destroyer destroyeth. Go up, O Elam; besiege, O Media; all the sighing thereof have I made to cease.

3 P or tanto, mis lomos se han llenado de dolor; angustias se apoderaron de mí, como angustias de mujer de parto; me agobié oyendo, y me espanté viendo.

Therefore are my loins filled with anguish; pangs have taken hold upon me, as the pangs of a woman in travail: I am pained so that I cannot hear; I am dismayed so that I cannot see.

4 S e pasmó mi corazón, el horror me ha asombrado; la noche de mi deseo se me tornó en espanto.

My heart fluttereth, horror hath affrighted me; the twilight that I desired hath been turned into trembling unto me.

5 P on la mesa, mira del atalaya, come, bebe, levantaos, príncipes, tomad escudo.

They prepare the table, they set the watch, they eat, they drink: rise up, ye princes, anoint the shield.

6 P orque el Señor me dijo así: Ve, pon centinela, que haga saber lo que viere.

For thus hath the Lord said unto me, Go, set a watchman: let him declare what he seeth:

7 Y vio un carro de un par de caballeros, un carro de asno, y un carro de camello. Luego miró mucho más atentamente.

and when he seeth a troop, horsemen in pairs, a troop of asses, a troop of camels, he shall hearken diligently with much heed.

8 Y gritó: León sobre atalaya. Señor, estoy yo continuamente todo el día, y las noches enteras sobre mi guarda.

And he cried as a lion: O Lord, I stand continually upon the watch-tower in the day-time, and am set in my ward whole nights;

9 Y he aquí este carro de hombres viene, un par de caballeros. Después habló, y dijo: Cayó; cayó Babilonia; y todos los ídolos de sus dioses quebrantó en tierra.

and, behold, here cometh a troop of men, horsemen in pairs. And he answered and said, Fallen, fallen is Babylon; and all the graven images of her gods are broken unto the ground.

10 T rilla mía, y pueblo de mi era, os he dicho lo que oí del SEÑOR de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel.

O thou my threshing, and the grain of my floor! that which I have heard from Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, have I declared unto you.

11 C arga de Duma. Me dan voces: De Seir. ¿Guarda qué hay esta noche? ¿Guarda, qué hay esta noche?

The burden of Dumah. One calleth unto me out of Seir, Watchman, what of the night? Watchman, what of the night?

12 E l que guarda respondió: La mañana viene, y después la noche. Si preguntareis, preguntad; volved, y venid.

The watchman said, The morning cometh, and also the night: if ye will inquire, inquire ye: turn ye, come.

13 C arga sobre Arabia. En el monte tendréis la noche en Arabia, oh caminantes de Dedán.

The burden upon Arabia. In the forest in Arabia shall ye lodge, O ye caravans of Dedanites.

14 S alid al encuentro llevando aguas al sediento, oh moradores de tierra de Tema, socorred con su pan al que huye.

Unto him that was thirsty they brought water; the inhabitants of the land of Tema did meet the fugitives with their bread.

15 P orque de la presencia de las espadas huyen, de la presencia de la espada desnuda, de la presencia del arco entesado, de la presencia del peso de la batalla.

For they fled away from the swords, from the drawn sword, and from the bent bow, and from the grievousness of war.

16 P orque así me ha dicho el SEÑOR: De aquí a un año, semejante a años de jornalero, toda la gloria de Cedar será deshecha;

For thus hath the Lord said unto me, Within a year, according to the years of a hireling, all the glory of Kedar shall fail;

17 y el resto del número de los valientes flecheros, hijos de Cedar, serán apocados; porque el SEÑOR Dios de Israel lo ha dicho.

and the residue of the number of the archers, the mighty men of the children of Kedar, shall be few; for Jehovah, the God of Israel, hath spoken it.
