1 A nd it came to pass the same year, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the fourth year, in the fifth month, Hananiah the son of Azzur, the prophet, who was of Gibeon, spoke to me in the house of Jehovah, in the presence of the priests and of all the people, saying,

In quello stesso anno, al principio del regno di Sedechia, re di Giuda, l’anno quarto, il quinto mese, Anania, figlio di Azzur, profeta, nativo di Gabaon, mi parlò nella casa del Signore, in presenza dei sacerdoti e di tutto il popolo, dicendo:

2 T hus speaketh Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, saying, I have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon.

«Così parla il Signore degli eserciti, Dio d’Israele: “Io spezzo il giogo del re di Babilonia.

3 W ithin two full years will I bring again into this place all the vessels of Jehovah's house, that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took away from this place, and carried to Babylon;

Entro due anni io farò tornare in questo luogo tutti gli arredi della casa del Signore che Nabucodonosor, re di Babilonia, ha tolti da questo luogo e ha portati a Babilonia;

4 a nd I will bring again to this place Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, the king of Judah, with all the captives of Judah that went to Babylon, saith Jehovah: for I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon.

ricondurrò in questo luogo”, dice il Signore, “Ieconia, figlio di Ioiachim, re di Giuda, e tutti quelli di Giuda che sono deportati a Babilonia; perché spezzerò il giogo del re di Babilonia”».

5 A nd the prophet Jeremiah spoke unto the prophet Hananiah in the presence of the priests, and in the presence of all the people that stood in the house of Jehovah.

Il profeta Geremia rispose al profeta Anania in presenza dei sacerdoti e in presenza di tutto il popolo che si trovava nella casa del Signore.

6 A nd the prophet Jeremiah said, Amen, may Jehovah do so! may Jehovah perform thy words which thou hast prophesied, to bring again from Babylon, into this place, the vessels of Jehovah's house, and all them of the captivity!

Il profeta Geremia disse: «Amen! Così faccia il Signore! Il Signore mandi ad effetto ciò che tu hai profetizzato, faccia tornare da Babilonia in questo luogo gli arredi della casa del Signore e tutti quelli che sono stati condotti in esilio!

7 N evertheless, hear, I pray thee, this word which I speak in thine ears, and in the ears of all the people:

Però ascolta ora questa parola che io pronuncio in presenza tua e in presenza di tutto il popolo.

8 T he prophets that have been before me and before thee of old, prophesied also concerning many countries and concerning great kingdoms, of war, and of evil, and of pestilence.

I profeti che apparvero prima di me e prima di te, fin dai tempi antichi, profetizzarono contro molti paesi e contro grandi regni la guerra, la fame, la peste.

9 T he prophet that prophesieth of peace, when the word of the prophet shall come to pass, shall be known as the prophet whom Jehovah hath really sent.

Quanto al profeta che profetizza la pace, una volta che si sarà adempiuta la sua parola egli sarà riconosciuto come uno veramente inviato dal Signore ».

10 A nd the prophet Hananiah took the yoke from off the prophet Jeremiah's neck, and broke it.

Allora il profeta Anania prese il giogo dal collo del profeta Geremia e lo spezzò.

11 A nd Hananiah spoke in the presence of all the people, saying, Thus saith Jehovah: So will I break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon within two full years from off the neck of all the nations. And the prophet Jeremiah went his way.

Anania parlò in presenza di tutto il popolo e disse: «Così parla il Signore: “In questo modo io spezzerò il giogo di Nabucodonosor, re di Babilonia, togliendolo dal collo di tutte le nazioni, entro lo spazio di due anni”». Il profeta Geremia se ne andò.

12 A nd the word of Jehovah came unto Jeremiah, after that the prophet Hananiah had broken the yoke from off the neck of the prophet Jeremiah, saying,

Allora la parola del Signore fu rivolta a Geremia, dopo che il profeta Anania ebbe spezzato il giogo togliendolo dal collo del profeta Geremia, e disse:

13 G o and tell Hananiah, saying, Thus saith Jehovah: Thou hast broken the yokes of wood, and thou hast made in their place yokes of iron.

«Va’ e di’ ad Anania: “Così parla il Signore: ‘Tu hai spezzato un giogo di legno, ma hai fatto, invece di quello, un giogo di ferro’.

14 F or thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: I have put a yoke of iron upon the neck of all these nations, that they may serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; and they shall serve him: and I have given him the beasts of the field also.

Infatti così parla il Signore degli eserciti, Dio d’Israele: ‘Io metto un giogo di ferro sul collo di tutte queste nazioni perché siano sottomesse a Nabucodonosor, re di Babilonia, ed esse gli saranno soggette; e gli do pure gli animali della campagna’”».

15 A nd the prophet Jeremiah said unto the prophet Hananiah, Hear now, Hananiah: Jehovah hath not sent thee; and thou makest this people to trust in falsehood.

Il profeta Geremia disse al profeta Anania: «Ascolta, Anania! Il Signore non ti ha mandato e tu hai spinto questo popolo a confidare nella menzogna.

16 T herefore thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I will cast thee from off the face of the earth: this year thou shalt die, for thou hast spoken revolt against Jehovah.

Perciò così parla il Signore: “Ecco, io ti caccio dalla faccia della terra; quest’anno morirai, perché hai parlato di ribellione contro il Signore ”».

17 A nd the prophet Hananiah died in the same year in the seventh month.

Il profeta Anania morì quello stesso anno, nel settimo mese.
