1 T he king shall joy in thy strength, O Lord; and in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!

O rei se alegra na tua força, ó Senhor! Como é grande a sua exultação pelas vitórias que lhe dás!

2 T hou hast given him his heart’s desire, and hast not withholden the request of his lips. Selah.

Tu lhe concedeste o desejo do seu coração e não lhe rejeitaste o pedido dos seus lábios. Pausa

3 F or thou preventest him with the blessings of goodness: thou settest a crown of pure gold on his head.

Tu o recebeste dando-lhe ricas bênçãos, e em sua cabeça puseste uma coroa de ouro puro.

4 H e asked life of thee, and thou gavest it him, even length of days for ever and ever.

Ele te pediu vida, e tu lhe deste! Vida longa e duradoura.

5 H is glory is great in thy salvation: honour and majesty hast thou laid upon him.

Pelas vitórias que lhe deste, grande é a sua glória; de esplendor e majestade o cobriste.

6 F or thou hast made him most blessed for ever: thou hast made him exceeding glad with thy countenance.

Fizeste dele uma grande bênção para sempre e lhe deste a alegria da tua presença.

7 F or the king trusteth in the Lord, and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved.

O rei confia no Senhor: por causa da fidelidade do Altíssimo ele não será abalado.

8 T hine hand shall find out all thine enemies: thy right hand shall find out those that hate thee.

Tua mão alcançará todos os teus inimigos; tua mão direita atingirá todos os que te odeiam.

9 T hou shalt make them as a fiery oven in the time of thine anger: the Lord shall swallow them up in his wrath, and the fire shall devour them.

No dia em que te manifestares farás deles uma fornalha ardente. Na sua ira o Senhor os devorará, um fogo os consumirá.

10 T heir fruit shalt thou destroy from the earth, and their seed from among the children of men.

Acabarás com a geração deles na terra, com a sua descendência entre os homens.

11 F or they intended evil against thee: they imagined a mischievous device, which they are not able to perform.

Embora tramem o mal contra ti e façam planos perversos, nada conseguirão;

12 T herefore shalt thou make them turn their back, when thou shalt make ready thine arrows upon thy strings against the face of them.

pois tu os porás em fuga quando apontares para eles o teu arco.

13 B e thou exalted, Lord, in thine own strength: so will we sing and praise thy power.

Sê exaltado, Senhor, na tua força! Cantaremos e louvaremos o teu poder.
