1 A nd the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

O Senhor disse a Moisés:

2 S peak unto Aaron, and unto his sons, and unto all the children of Israel, and say unto them; This is the thing which the Lord hath commanded, saying,

“Diga a Arão e seus filhos e a todos os israelitas o que o Senhor ordenou:

3 W hat man soever there be of the house of Israel, that killeth an ox, or lamb, or goat, in the camp, or that killeth it out of the camp,

Qualquer israelita que sacrificar um boi, um cordeiro ou um cabrito dentro ou fora do acampamento,

4 a nd bringeth it not unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, to offer an offering unto the Lord before the tabernacle of the Lord; blood shall be imputed unto that man; he hath shed blood; and that man shall be cut off from among his people:

e não o trouxer à entrada da Tenda do Encontro para apresentá-lo como oferta ao Senhor, diante do tabernáculo do Senhor, será considerado culpado de sangue; derramou sangue e será eliminado do meio do seu povo.

5 t o the end that the children of Israel may bring their sacrifices, which they offer in the open field, even that they may bring them unto the Lord, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, unto the priest, and offer them for peace offerings unto the Lord.

Os sacrifícios, que os israelitas agora fazem em campo aberto, passarão a trazer ao Senhor, entregando-os ao sacerdote, para oferecê-los ao Senhor, à entrada da Tenda do Encontro, e os sacrificarão como ofertas de comunhão.

6 A nd the priest shall sprinkle the blood upon the altar of the Lord at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and burn the fat for a sweet savour unto the Lord.

O sacerdote aspergirá o sangue no altar do Senhor, à entrada da Tenda do Encontro, e queimará a gordura como aroma agradável ao Senhor.

7 A nd they shall no more offer their sacrifices unto devils, after whom they have gone a whoring. This shall be a statute for ever unto them throughout their generations.

Não oferecerão mais sacrifícios aos ídolos em forma de bode, aos quais prestam culto imoral. Este é um decreto perpétuo para eles e para as suas gerações.

8 A nd thou shalt say unto them, Whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers which sojourn among you, that offereth a burnt offering or sacrifice,

“Diga-lhes: Todo israelita ou estrangeiro residente que oferecer holocausto ou sacrifício,

9 a nd bringeth it not unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, to offer it unto the Lord; even that man shall be cut off from among his people.

e não o trouxer à entrada da Tenda do Encontro para oferecê-lo ao Senhor, será eliminado do meio do seu povo.

10 A nd whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, that eateth any manner of blood; I will even set my face against that soul that eateth blood, and will cut him off from among his people.

“Todo israelita ou estrangeiro residente que comer sangue de qualquer animal, contra esse eu me voltarei e o eliminarei do meio do seu povo.

11 F or the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.

Pois a vida da carne está no sangue, e eu o dei a vocês para fazerem propiciação por si mesmos no altar; é o sangue que faz propiciação pela vida.

12 T herefore I said unto the children of Israel, No soul of you shall eat blood, neither shall any stranger that sojourneth among you eat blood.

Por isso digo aos israelitas: Nenhum de vocês poderá comer sangue, nem também o estrangeiro residente.

13 A nd whatsoever man there be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, which hunteth and catcheth any beast or fowl that may be eaten; he shall even pour out the blood thereof, and cover it with dust.

“Qualquer israelita ou estrangeiro residente que caçar um animal ou ave que se pode comer, derramará o sangue e o cobrirá com terra,

14 F or it is the life of all flesh; the blood of it is for the life thereof: therefore I said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall eat the blood of no manner of flesh: for the life of all flesh is the blood thereof: whosoever eateth it shall be cut off.

porque a vida de toda carne é o seu sangue. Por isso eu disse aos israelitas: Vocês não poderão comer o sangue de nenhum animal, porque a vida de toda carne é o seu sangue; todo aquele que o comer será eliminado.

15 A nd every soul that eateth that which died of itself, or that which was torn with beasts, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger, he shall both wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even: then shall he be clean.

“Todo aquele que, natural da terra ou estrangeiro, comer um animal encontrado morto ou despedaçado por animais selvagens, lavará suas roupas e se banhará com água, e ficará impuro até a tarde; então estará puro.

16 B ut if he wash them not, nor bathe his flesh; then he shall bear his iniquity.

Mas, se não lavar suas roupas nem se banhar, sofrerá as conseqüências da sua iniqüidade”.
