1 T he king shall joy in thy strength, O Lord; and in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!

Na tua força, ó Senhor, o rei se alegra; e na tua salvação quão grandemente se regozija!

2 T hou hast given him his heart’s desire, and hast not withholden the request of his lips. Selah.

Concedeste-lhe o desejo do seu coração, e não lhe negaste a petição dos seus lábios.

3 F or thou preventest him with the blessings of goodness: thou settest a crown of pure gold on his head.

Pois o proveste de bênçãos excelentes; puseste-lhe na cabeça uma coroa de ouro fino.

4 H e asked life of thee, and thou gavest it him, even length of days for ever and ever.

Vida te pediu, e lha deste, longura de dias para sempre e eternamente.

5 H is glory is great in thy salvation: honour and majesty hast thou laid upon him.

Grande é a sua glória pelo teu socorro; de honra e de majestade o revestes.

6 F or thou hast made him most blessed for ever: thou hast made him exceeding glad with thy countenance.

Sim, tu o fazes para sempre abençoado; tu o enches de gozo na tua presença.

7 F or the king trusteth in the Lord, and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved.

Pois o rei confia no Senhor; e pela bondade do Altíssimo permanecerá inabalável.

8 T hine hand shall find out all thine enemies: thy right hand shall find out those that hate thee.

A tua mão alcançará todos os teus inimigos, a tua destra alcançará todos os que te odeiam.

9 T hou shalt make them as a fiery oven in the time of thine anger: the Lord shall swallow them up in his wrath, and the fire shall devour them.

Tu os farás qual fornalha ardente quando vieres; o Senhor os consumirá na sua indignação, e o fogo os devorará.

10 T heir fruit shalt thou destroy from the earth, and their seed from among the children of men.

A sua prole destruirás da terra, e a sua descendência dentre os filhos dos homens.

11 F or they intended evil against thee: they imagined a mischievous device, which they are not able to perform.

Pois intentaram o mal contra ti; maquinaram um ardil, mas não prevalecerão.

12 T herefore shalt thou make them turn their back, when thou shalt make ready thine arrows upon thy strings against the face of them.

Porque tu os porás em fuga; contra os seus rostos assestarás o teu arco.

13 B e thou exalted, Lord, in thine own strength: so will we sing and praise thy power.

Exalta-te, Senhor, na tua força; então cantaremos e louvaremos o teu poder.
