1 B lessed is he that considereth the poor: the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble.

Bem-aventurado é aquele que considera o pobre; o Senhor o livrará no dia do mal.

2 T he Lord will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.

O Senhor o guardará, e o conservará em vida; será abençoado na terra; tu, Senhor não o entregarás ã vontade dos seus inimigos.

3 T he Lord will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness.

O Senhor o sustentará no leito da enfermidade; tu lhe amaciarás a cama na sua doença.

4 I said, Lord, be merciful unto me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.

Disse eu da minha parte: Senhor, compadece-te de mim, sara a minha alma, pois pequei contra ti.

5 M ine enemies speak evil of me, When shall he die, and his name perish?

Os meus inimigos falam mal de mim, dizendo: Quando morrerá ele, e perecerá o seu nome?

6 A nd if he come to see me, he speaketh vanity: his heart gathereth iniquity to itself; when he goeth abroad, he telleth it.

E, se algum deles vem ver-me, diz falsidades; no seu coração amontoa a maldade; e quando ele sai, é disso que fala.

7 A ll that hate me whisper together against me: against me do they devise my hurt.

Todos os que me odeiam cochicham entre si contra mim; contra mim maquinam o mal, dizendo:

8 A n evil disease, say they, cleaveth fast unto him: and now that he lieth he shall rise up no more.

Alguma coisa ruim se lhe apega; e agora que está deitado, não se levantará mais.

9 Y ea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.

Até o meu próprio amigo íntimo em quem eu tanto confiava, e que comia do meu pão, levantou contra mim o seu calcanhar.

10 B ut thou, O Lord, be merciful unto me, and raise me up, that I may requite them.

Mas tu, Senhor, compadece-te de mim e levanta-me, para que eu lhes retribua.

11 B y this I know that thou favourest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me.

Por isso conheço eu que te deleitas em mim, por não triunfar de mim o meu inimigo

12 A nd as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity, and settest me before thy face for ever.

Quanto a mim, tu me sustentas na minha integridade, e me colocas diante da tua face para sempre.

13 B lessed be the Lord God of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen.

Bendito seja o Senhor Deus de Israel de eternidade a eternidade. Amém e amém.
