1 П астырей ваших умоляю я, сопастырь и свидетель страданий Христовых и соучастник в славе, которая должна открыться:

The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:

2 п асите Божие стадо, какое у вас, надзирая за ним не принужденно, но охотно и богоугодно, не для гнусной корысти, но из усердия,

Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;

3 и не господствуя над наследием, но подавая пример стаду;

Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being examples to the flock.

4 и когда явится Пастыреначальник, вы получите неувядающий венец славы.

And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.

5 Т акже и младшие, повинуйтесь пастырям; все же, подчиняясь друг другу, облекитесь смиренномудрием, потому что Бог гордым противится, а смиренным дает благодать.

Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

6 И так смиритесь под крепкую руку Божию, да вознесет вас в свое время.

Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

7 В се заботы ваши возложите на Него, ибо Он печется о вас.

Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

8 Т резвитесь, бодрствуйте, потому что противник ваш диавол ходит, как рыкающий лев, ища, кого поглотить.

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

9 П ротивостойте ему твердою верою, зная, что такие же страдания случаются и с братьями вашими в мире.

Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

10 Б ог же всякой благодати, призвавший нас в вечную славу Свою во Христе Иисусе, Сам, по кратковременном страдании вашем, да совершит вас, да утвердит, да укрепит, да соделает непоколебимыми.

But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

11 Е му слава и держава во веки веков. Аминь.

To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

12 С ие кратко написал я вам чрез Силуана, верного, как думаю, вашего брата, чтобы уверить вас, утешая и свидетельствуя, что это истинная благодать Божия, в которой вы стоите.

By Silvanus, a faithful brother unto you, as I suppose, I have written briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God wherein ye stand.

13 П риветствует вас избранная, подобно в Вавилоне и Марк, сын мой.

The church that is at Babylon, elected together with you, saluteth you; and so doth Marcus my son.

14 П риветствуйте друг друга лобзанием любви. Мир вам всем во Христе Иисусе. Аминь.
