1 B e ye imitators of me, even as I also am of Christ.

Sed imitadores de mí, como también yo lo soy de Cristo. La mujer en la iglesia

2 N ow I praise you that ye remember me in all things, and hold fast the traditions, even as I delivered them to you.

Os alabo porque en todo os acordáis de mí y guardáis las tradiciones con firmeza, tal como yo os las entregué.

3 B ut I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

Pero quiero que sepáis que la cabeza de todo hombre es Cristo, y la cabeza de la mujer es el hombre, y la cabeza de Cristo es Dios.

4 E very man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoreth his head.

Todo hombre que cubre su cabeza mientras ora o profetiza, deshonra su cabeza.

5 B ut every woman praying or prophesying with her head unveiled dishonoreth her head; for it is one and the same thing as if she were shaven.

Pero toda mujer que tiene la cabeza descubierta mientras ora o profetiza, deshonra su cabeza; porque se hace una con la que está rapada.

6 F or if a woman is not veiled, let her also be shorn: but if it is a shame to a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be veiled.

Porque si la mujer no se cubre la cabeza, que también se corte el cabello; pero si es deshonroso para la mujer cortarse el cabello, o raparse, que se cubra.

7 F or a man indeed ought not to have his head veiled, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.

Pues el hombre no debe cubrirse la cabeza, ya que él es la imagen y gloria de Dios; pero la mujer es la gloria del hombre.

8 F or the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man:

Porque el hombre no procede de la mujer, sino la mujer del hombre;

9 f or neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man:

pues en verdad el hombre no fue creado a causa de la mujer, sino la mujer a causa del hombre.

10 f or this cause ought the woman to have a sign of authority on her head, because of the angels.

Por tanto, la mujer debe tener un símbolo de autoridad sobre la cabeza, por causa de los ángeles.

11 N evertheless, neither is the woman without the man, nor the man without the woman, in the Lord.

Sin embargo, en el Señor, ni la mujer es independiente del hombre, ni el hombre independiente de la mujer.

12 F or as the woman is of the man, so is the man also by the woman; but all things are of God.

Porque así como la mujer procede del hombre, también el hombre nace de la mujer; y todas las cosas proceden de Dios.

13 J udge ye in yourselves: is it seemly that a woman pray unto God unveiled?

Juzgad vosotros mismos: ¿es propio que la mujer ore a Dios con la cabeza descubierta?

14 D oth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a dishonor to him?

¿No os enseña la misma naturaleza que si el hombre tiene el cabello largo le es deshonra,

15 B ut if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.

pero que si la mujer tiene el cabello largo le es una gloria? Pues a ella el cabello le es dado por velo.

16 B ut if any man seemeth to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.

Pero si alguno parece ser contencioso, nosotros no tenemos tal costumbre, ni la tienen las iglesias de Dios. La Cena del Señor

17 B ut in giving you this charge, I praise you not, that ye come together not for the better but for the worse.

Pero al daros estas instrucciones, no os alabo, porque no os congregáis para lo bueno, sino para lo malo.

18 F or first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that divisions exist among you; and I partly believe it.

Pues, en primer lugar, oigo que cuando os reunís como iglesia hay divisiones entre vosotros; y en parte lo creo.

19 F or there must be also factions among you, that they that are approved may be made manifest among you.

Porque es necesario que entre vosotros haya bandos, a fin de que se manifiesten entre vosotros los que son aprobados.

20 W hen therefore ye assemble yourselves together, it is not possible to eat the Lord's supper:

Por tanto, cuando os reunís, esto ya no es comer la cena del Señor,

21 f or in your eating each one taketh before other his own supper; and one is hungry, and another is drunken.

porque al comer, cada uno toma primero su propia cena; y uno pasa hambre y otro se embriaga.

22 W hat, have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the church of God, and put them to shame that have not? What shall I say to you? shall I praise you? In this I praise you not.

¿Qué? ¿No tenéis casas para comer y beber? ¿O menospreciáis la iglesia de Dios y avergonzáis a los que nada tienen ? ¿Qué os diré? ¿Os alabaré? En esto no os alabaré.

23 F or I received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which he was betrayed took bread;

Porque yo recibí del Señor lo mismo que os he enseñado: que el Señor Jesús, la noche en que fue entregado, tomó pan,

24 a nd when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, This is my body, which is for you: this do in remembrance of me.

y después de dar gracias, lo partió y dijo: Esto es mi cuerpo que es para vosotros; haced esto en memoria de mí.

25 I n like manner also the cup, after supper, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood: this do, as often as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.

De la misma manera tomó también la copa después de haber cenado, diciendo: Esta copa es el nuevo pacto en mi sangre; haced esto cuantas veces la bebáis en memoria de mí.

26 F or as often as ye eat this bread, and drink the cup, ye proclaim the Lord's death till he come.

Porque todas las veces que comáis este pan y bebáis esta copa, la muerte del Señor proclamáis hasta que El venga.

27 W herefore whosoever shall eat the bread or drink the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner, shall be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord.

De manera que el que coma el pan o beba la copa del Señor indignamente, será culpable del cuerpo y de la sangre del Señor.

28 B ut let a man prove himself, and so let him eat of the bread, and drink of the cup.

Por tanto, examínese cada uno a sí mismo, y entonces coma del pan y beba de la copa.

29 F or he that eateth and drinketh, eateth and drinketh judgment unto himself, if he discern not the body.

Porque el que come y bebe sin discernir correctamente el cuerpo del Señor, come y bebe juicio para sí.

30 F or this cause many among you are weak and sickly, and not a few sleep.

Por esta razón hay muchos débiles y enfermos entre vosotros, y muchos duermen.

31 B ut if we discerned ourselves, we should not be judged.

Pero si nos juzgáramos a nosotros mismos, no seríamos juzgados.

32 B ut when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.

Pero cuando somos juzgados, el Señor nos disciplina para que no seamos condenados con el mundo.

33 W herefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, wait one for another.

Así que, hermanos míos, cuando os reunáis para comer, esperaos unos a otros.

34 I f any man is hungry, let him eat at home; that your coming together be not unto judgment. And the rest will I set in order whensoever I come.

Si alguno tiene hambre, coma en su casa, para que no os reunáis para juicio. Los demás asuntos los arreglaré cuando vaya.
