1 N ow on the first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, while it was yet dark, unto the tomb, and seeth the stone taken away from the tomb.

Y el primer día de la semana María Magdalena fue temprano al sepulcro, cuando todavía estaba oscuro, y vio que ya la piedra había sido quitada del sepulcro.

2 S he runneth therefore, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we know not where they have laid him.

Entonces corrió y fue a Simón Pedro y al otro discípulo a quien Jesús amaba, y les dijo: Se han llevado al Señor del sepulcro, y no sabemos dónde le han puesto.

3 P eter therefore went forth, and the other disciple, and they went toward the tomb.

Salieron, pues, Pedro y el otro discípulo, e iban hacia el sepulcro.

4 A nd they ran both together: and the other disciple outran Peter, and came first to the tomb;

Los dos corrían juntos, pero el otro discípulo corrió más aprisa que Pedro, y llegó primero al sepulcro;

5 a nd stooping and looking in, he seeth the linen cloths lying; yet entered he not in.

e inclinándose para mirar adentro, vio las envolturas de lino puestas allí, pero no entró.

6 S imon Peter therefore also cometh, following him, and entered into the tomb; and he beholdeth the linen cloths lying,

Entonces llegó también Simón Pedro tras él, entró al sepulcro, y vio las envolturas de lino puestas allí,

7 a nd the napkin, that was upon his head, not lying with the linen cloths, but rolled up in a place by itself.

y el sudario que había estado sobre la cabeza de Jesús, no puesto con las envolturas de lino, sino enrollado en un lugar aparte.

8 T hen entered in therefore the other disciple also, who came first to the tomb, and he saw, and believed.

Entonces entró también el otro discípulo, el que había llegado primero al sepulcro, y vio y creyó.

9 F or as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise from the dead.

Porque todavía no habían entendido la Escritura, que Jesús debía resucitar de entre los muertos.

10 S o the disciples went away again unto their own home.

Los discípulos entonces se fueron de nuevo a sus casas. Aparición de Jesús a María Magdalena

11 B ut Mary was standing without at the tomb weeping: so, as she wept, she stooped and looked into the tomb;

Pero María estaba fuera, llorando junto al sepulcro; y mientras lloraba, se inclinó y miró dentro del sepulcro;

12 a nd she beholdeth two angels in white sitting, one at the head, and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain.

y vio dos ángeles vestidos de blanco, sentados donde había estado el cuerpo de Jesús, uno a la cabecera y otro a los pies.

13 A nd they say unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? She saith unto them, Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid him.

Y ellos le dijeron: Mujer, ¿por qué lloras ? Ella les dijo: Porque se han llevado a mi Señor, y no sé dónde le han puesto.

14 W hen she had thus said, she turned herself back, and beholdeth Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus.

Al decir esto, se volvió y vio a Jesús que estaba allí, pero no sabía que era Jesús.

15 J esus saith unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She, supposing him to be the gardener, saith unto him, Sir, if thou hast borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away.

Jesús le dijo: Mujer, ¿por qué lloras ? ¿A quién buscas? Ella, pensando que era el hortelano, le dijo: Señor, si tú le has llevado, dime dónde le has puesto, y yo me lo llevaré.

16 J esus saith unto her, Mary. She turneth herself, and saith unto him in Hebrew, Rabboni; which is to say, Teacher.

Jesús le dijo: ¡María! Ella, volviéndose, le dijo en hebreo: ¡Raboní! (que quiere decir, Maestro).

17 J esus saith to her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended unto the Father: but go unto my brethren, and say to them, I ascend unto my Father and your Father, and my God and your God.

Jesús le dijo: Suéltame porque todavía no he subido al Padre; pero ve a mis hermanos, y diles: “Subo a mi Padre y a vuestro Padre, a mi Dios y a vuestro Dios.”

18 M ary Magdalene cometh and telleth the disciples, I have seen the Lord; and that he had said these things unto her.

Fue María Magdalena y anunció a los discípulos: ¡He visto al Señor!, y que El le había dicho estas cosas. Aparición a los discípulos

19 W hen therefore it was evening, on that day, the first day of the week, and when the doors were shut where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.

Entonces, al atardecer de aquel día, el primero de la semana, y estando cerradas las puertas del lugar donde los discípulos se encontraban por miedo a los judíos, Jesús vino y se puso en medio de ellos, y les dijo: Paz a vosotros.

20 A nd when he had said this, he showed unto them his hands and his side. The disciples therefore were glad, when they saw the Lord.

Y diciendo esto, les mostró las manos y el costado. Entonces los discípulos se regocijaron al ver al Señor.

21 J esus therefore said to them again, Peace be unto you: as the Father hath sent me, even so send I you.

Jesús entonces les dijo otra vez: Paz a vosotros; como el Padre me ha enviado, así también yo os envío.

22 A nd when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Spirit:

Después de decir esto, sopló sobre ellos y les dijo: Recibid el Espíritu Santo.

23 w hose soever sins ye forgive, they are forgiven unto them; whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.

A quienes perdonéis los pecados, éstos les son perdonados; a quienes retengáis los pecados, éstos les son retenidos. Incredulidad de Tomás

24 B ut Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came.

Tomás, uno de los doce, llamado el Dídimo, no estaba con ellos cuando Jesús vino.

25 T he other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.

Entonces los otros discípulos le decían: ¡Hemos visto al Señor! Pero él les dijo: Si no veo en sus manos la señal de los clavos, y meto el dedo en el lugar de los clavos, y pongo la mano en su costado, no creeré.

26 A nd after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them. Jesus cometh, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.

Ocho días después, sus discípulos estaban otra vez dentro, y Tomás con ellos. Y estando las puertas cerradas, Jesús vino y se puso en medio de ellos, y dijo: Paz a vosotros.

27 T hen saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and see my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and put it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.

Luego dijo a Tomás: Acerca aquí tu dedo, y mira mis manos; extiende aquí tu mano y métela en mi costado; y no seas incrédulo, sino creyente.

28 T homas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.

Respondió Tomás y le dijo: ¡Señor mío y Dios mío!

29 J esus saith unto him, Because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

Jesús le dijo: ¿Porque me has visto has creído? Dichosos los que no vieron, y sin embargo creyeron. El propósito de este evangelio según Juan

30 M any other signs therefore did Jesus in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book:

Y muchas otras señales hizo también Jesús en presencia de sus discípulos, que no están escritas en este libro;

31 b ut these are written, that ye may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye may have life in his name.

pero éstas se han escrito para que creáis que Jesús es el Cristo, el Hijo de Dios; y para que al creer, tengáis vida en su nombre.
