1 W e give thanks unto thee, O God; We give thanks, for thy name is near: Men tell of thy wondrous works.

2 W hen I shall find the set time, I will judge uprightly.

Cuando yo escoja el tiempo oportuno, seré yo quien juzgará con equidad.

3 T he earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved: I have set up the pillars of it. Selah

Tiemblan la tierra y todos sus moradores, mas yo sostengo sus columnas. (Selah )

4 I said unto the arrogant, Deal not arrogantly; And to the wicked, Lift not up the horn:

Dije a los orgullosos: No os jactéis; y a los impíos: No alcéis la frente;

5 L ift not up your horn on high; Speak not with a stiff neck.

no levantéis en alto vuestra frente; no habléis con orgullo insolente.

6 F or neither from the east, nor from the west, Nor yet from the south, cometh lifting up.

Porque ni del oriente ni del occidente, ni del desierto viene el enaltecimiento;

7 B ut God is the judge: He putteth down one, and lifteth up another.

sino que Dios es el juez; a uno humilla y a otro ensalza.

8 F or in the hand of Jehovah there is a cup, and the wine foameth; It is full of mixture, and he poureth out of the same: Surely the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall drain them, and drink them.

Porque hay un cáliz en la mano del Señor, y el vino fermenta, lleno de mixtura, y de éste El sirve; ciertamente lo sorberán hasta las heces y lo beberán todos los impíos de la tierra.

9 B ut I will declare for ever, I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.

Pero yo lo anunciaré para siempre; cantaré alabanzas al Dios de Jacob.

10 A ll the horns of the wicked also will I cut off; But the horns of the righteous shall be lifted up.

Quebraré todo el poderío de los impíos, pero el poderío del justo será ensalzado.
