1 A nd he looked up, and saw the rich men that were casting their gifts into the treasury.

Levantando Jesús la vista, vio a los ricos que echaban sus ofrendas en el arca del tesoro.

2 A nd he saw a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites.

Y vio también a una viuda pobre que echaba allí dos pequeñas monedas de cobre;

3 A nd he said, Of a truth I say unto you, This poor widow cast in more than they all:

y dijo: En verdad os digo, que esta viuda tan pobre echó más que todos ellos;

4 f or all these did of their superfluity cast in unto the gifts; but she of her want did cast in all the living that she had.

porque todos ellos echaron en la ofrenda de lo que les sobraba, pero ella, de su pobreza, echó todo lo que tenía para vivir. Profecía sobre la destrucción del templo

5 A nd as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and offerings, he said,

Y mientras algunos estaban hablando del templo, de cómo estaba adornado con hermosas piedras y ofrendas votivas, Jesús dijo:

6 A s for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in which there shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

En cuanto a estas cosas que estáis mirando, vendrán días en que no quedará piedra sobre piedra que no sea derribada.

7 A nd they asked him, saying, Teacher, when therefore shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when these things are about to come to pass?

Y le preguntaron, diciendo: Maestro, ¿cuándo sucederá esto, y qué señal habrá cuando estas cosas vayan a suceder?

8 A nd he said, Take heed that ye be not led astray: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am he; and, The time is at hand: go ye not after them.

Y El dijo: Mirad que no seáis engañados; porque muchos vendrán en mi nombre, diciendo: “Yo soy el Cristo ”, y: “El tiempo está cerca”. No los sigáis.

9 A nd when ye shall hear of wars and tumults, be not terrified: for these things must needs come to pass first; but the end is not immediately.

Y cuando oigáis de guerras y disturbios, no os aterroricéis; porque estas cosas tienen que suceder primero, pero el fin no sucederá inmediatamente. Señales y persecuciones

10 T hen said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom;

Entonces les dijo: Se levantará nación contra nación y reino contra reino;

11 a nd there shall be great earthquakes, and in divers places famines and pestilences; and there shall be terrors and great signs from heaven.

habrá grandes terremotos, y plagas y hambres en diversos lugares; y habrá terrores y grandes señales del cielo.

12 B ut before all these things, they shall lay their hands on you, and shall persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons, bringing you before kings and governors for my name's sake.

Pero antes de todas estas cosas os echarán mano, y os perseguirán, entregándoos a las sinagogas y cárceles, llevándoos ante reyes y gobernadores por causa de mi nombre.

13 I t shall turn out unto you for a testimony.

Esto os dará oportunidad de testificar.

14 S ettle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate beforehand how to answer:

Por tanto, proponed en vuestros corazones no preparar de antemano vuestra defensa;

15 f or I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to withstand or to gainsay.

porque yo os daré palabras y sabiduría que ninguno de vuestros adversarios podrá resistir ni refutar.

16 B ut ye shall be delivered up even by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolk, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.

Pero seréis entregados aun por padres, hermanos, parientes y amigos; y matarán a algunos de vosotros,

17 A nd ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.

y seréis odiados de todos por causa de mi nombre.

18 A nd not a hair of your head shall perish.

Sin embargo, ni un cabello de vuestra cabeza perecerá.

19 I n your patience ye shall win your souls.

Con vuestra perseverancia ganaréis vuestras almas.

20 B ut when ye see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that her desolation is at hand.

Pero cuando veáis a Jerusalén rodeada de ejércitos, sabed entonces que su desolación está cerca.

21 T hen let them that are in Judaea flee unto the mountains; and let them that are in the midst of her depart out; and let not them that are in the country enter therein.

Entonces los que estén en Judea, huyan a los montes, y los que estén en medio de la ciudad, aléjense; y los que estén en los campos, no entren en ella;

22 F or these are days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

porque estos son días de venganza, para que se cumplan todas las cosas que están escritas.

23 W oe unto them that are with child and to them that give suck in those days! for there shall be great distress upon the land, and wrath unto this people.

¡Ay de las que estén encinta y de las que estén criando en aquellos días! Porque habrá una gran calamidad sobre la tierra, e ira para este pueblo;

24 A nd they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led captive into all the nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

y caerán a filo de espada, y serán llevados cautivos a todas las naciones; y Jerusalén será hollada por los gentiles, hasta que los tiempos de los gentiles se cumplan. La venida del Hijo del Hombre

25 A nd there shall be signs in sun and moon and stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, in perplexity for the roaring of the sea and the billows;

Y habrá señales en el sol, en la luna y en las estrellas, y sobre la tierra, angustia entre las naciones, perplejas a causa del rugido del mar y de las olas,

26 m en fainting for fear, and for expectation of the things which are coming on the world: for the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.

desfalleciendo los hombres por el temor y la expectación de las cosas que vendrán sobre el mundo; porque las potencias de los cielos serán sacudidas.

27 A nd then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

Y entonces verán al Hijo del Hombre que viene en una nube con poder y gran gloria.

28 B ut when these things begin to come to pass, look up, and lift up your heads; because your redemption draweth nigh.

Cuando estas cosas empiecen a suceder, erguíos y levantad la cabeza, porque se acerca vuestra redención. Parábola de la higuera

29 A nd he spake to them a parable: Behold the fig tree, and all the trees:

Y les refirió una parábola: Mirad la higuera y todos los árboles.

30 w hen they now shoot forth, ye see it and know of your own selves that the summer is now nigh.

Cuando ya brotan las hojas, al verlo, sabéis por vosotros mismos que el verano ya está cerca.

31 E ven so ye also, when ye see these things coming to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh.

Así también vosotros, cuando veáis que suceden estas cosas, sabed que el reino de Dios está cerca.

32 V erily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all things be accomplished.

En verdad os digo que no pasará esta generación hasta que todo esto suceda.

33 H eaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

El cielo y la tierra pasarán, mas mis palabras no pasarán. Exhortación a velar

34 B ut take heed to yourselves, lest haply your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that day come on you suddenly as a snare:

Estad alerta, no sea que vuestro corazón se cargue con disipación y embriaguez y con las preocupaciones de la vida, y aquel día venga súbitamente sobre vosotros como un lazo;

35 f or so shall it come upon all them that dwell on the face of all the earth.

porque vendrá sobre todos los que habitan sobre la faz de toda la tierra.

36 B ut watch ye at every season, making supplication, that ye may prevail to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

Mas velad en todo tiempo, orando para que tengáis fuerza para escapar de todas estas cosas que están por suceder, y podáis estar en pie delante del Hijo del Hombre.

37 A nd every day he was teaching in the temple; and every night he went out, and lodged in the mount that is called Olivet.

Durante el día enseñaba en el templo, pero al oscurecer salía y pasaba la noche en el monte llamado de los Olivos.

38 A nd all the people came early in the morning to him in the temple, to hear him.

Y todo el pueblo madrugaba para ir al templo a escucharle.
