1 O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

Kremtoni Zotin, sepse ai është i mirë, sepse mirësia e tij vazhdon përjetë.

2 L et the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;

Kështu thonë të shpenguarit prej Zotit që ai i ka çliruar nga dora e kundërshtarit,

3 A nd gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south.

dhe që ka mbledhur nga vende të ndryshme, nga lindja dhe perëndimi, nga veriu dhe nga jugu.

4 T hey wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in.

Ata endeshin nëpër shkretëtirë, në vënde të shkretuara, dhe nuk gjenin asnjë qytet ku të banonin.

5 H ungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.

Të uritur e të etur, jeta e tyre po ligështohej.

6 T hen they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses.

Por në fatkeqësitë e tyre ata i thirrën Zotit dhe ai i çliroi nga ankthet e tyre;

7 A nd he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.

dhe i çoi në rrugën e drejtë, me qëllim që të arrinin në një qytet ku të banonin.

8 O h that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

Le të kremtojmë Zotin për mirësinë e tij dhe për mrekullitë e tij në dobi të bijve të njerëzve.

9 F or he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.

Sepse ai ka ngopur shpirtin e etur dhe e ka mbushur me të mira shpirtin e uritur.

10 S uch as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron;

Të tjerë rrinin në terr dhe në hijen e vdekjes, robër të pikëlluar dhe në zinxhira,

11 B ecause they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High:

sepse ishin rebeluar kundër fjalëve të Perëndisë dhe i kishin përçmuar këshillat e Shumë të Lartit;

12 T herefore he brought down their heart with labour; they fell down, and there was none to help.

prandaj ai rrëzoi zemrën e tyre me shqetësime; ata ranë poshtë dhe asnjeri nuk u vajti në ndihmë.

13 T hen they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses.

Por në fatkeqësinë e tyre ata i thirrën Zotit, dhe ai i shpëtoi nga ankthet e tyre,

14 H e brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder.

i nxori nga terri dhe nga hija e vdekjes dhe i këputi lidhjet e tyre.

15 O h that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

Le të kremtojmë Zotin për mirësinë e tij dhe për mrekullitë e tij në dobi të bijve të njerëzve,

16 F or he hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder.

sepse ai ka shembur portat prej bronzi dhe ka këputur shufrat prej hekuri.

17 F ools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted.

Disa njerëz pa mend vuanin për sjelljen e tyre rebele dhe për mëkatet e tyre;

18 T heir soul abhorreth all manner of meat; and they draw near unto the gates of death.

ata urrenin çdo ushqim dhe kishin arritur në prag të vdekjes,

19 T hen they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses.

por në fatkeqësinë e tyre i thirrën Zotit, dhe ai i shpëtoi nga ankthet e tyre.

20 H e sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

Ai dërgoi fjalën e tij dhe i shëroi, i shpëtoi nga gropa.

21 O h that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

Le ta kremtojmë Zotin për mirësinë e tij dhe për mrekullitë e tij në dobi të bijve të njerëzve;

22 A nd let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing.

le të ofrojnë flijime lëvdimi dhe le të tregojnë veprat e tij me këngë gëzimi.

23 T hey that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters;

Ata që zbresin në det me anije dhe që bëjnë tregëti mbi ujërat e mëdha,

24 T hese see the works of the Lord, and his wonders in the deep.

shohin veprat e Zotit dhe mrekullitë e tij në humnerat e detit.

25 F or he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof.

Sepse ai urdhëron dhe shkakton një erë furtune, që i ngre përpjetë valët e detit.

26 T hey mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble.

Ata ngjiten deri në qiell dhe bien në humnera; shpirti i tyre ligështohet nga ankthi.

27 T hey reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wit's end.

Atyre u merren këmbët dhe lëkunden si të dehur, dhe nuk dinë më ç’të bëjnë.

28 T hen they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses.

Por në fatkeqësitë e tyre i këlthasin Zotit, dhe ai i shpëton nga ankthet e tyre.

29 H e maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.

Ai e fashit furtunën në një murmurim dhe valët e saj pushojnë.

30 T hen are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven.

Kur ato qetësohen, ata gëzohen, dhe ai i çon në portin e dëshiruar prej tyre.

31 O h that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

Le të kremtojmë Zotin për mirësinë e tij dhe për mrekullitë që bën në dobi të bijve të njerëzve;

32 L et them exalt him also in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders.

le ta lëvdojnë në kuvendin e popullit dhe le ta lavdojnë në këshillin e pleqve.

33 H e turneth rivers into a wilderness, and the watersprings into dry ground;

Ai i shndërroni lumenjtë në shkretëtirë dhe burimet e ujit në vende të thata;

34 A fruitful land into barrenness, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein.

tokën pjellore në vend të thatë për shkak të sjelljes së keqe të banorëve të saj.

35 H e turneth the wilderness into a standing water, and dry ground into watersprings.

Ai e shndërron shkretëtirën në liqen dhe tokën e thatë në burime uji.

36 A nd there he maketh the hungry to dwell, that they may prepare a city for habitation;

Atje ai strehon të uriturit, dhe këta ndërtojnë një qytet për të banuar,

37 A nd sow the fields, and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase.

mbjellin arat dhe kultivojnë vreshta që prodhojnë një korrje të bollshme.

38 H e blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly; and suffereth not their cattle to decrease.

Ai i bekon dhe ata shumëzohen fort, dhe ai nuk e pakëson bagëtinë e tyre.

39 A gain, they are minished and brought low through oppression, affliction, and sorrow.

Por pastaj pakësohen në një numër të vogël dhe dobësohen për shkak të shtypjes, të fatkeqësisë dhe të ankthit.

40 H e poureth contempt upon princes, and causeth them to wander in the wilderness, where there is no way.

Ai hedh përbuzjen mbi princat dhe i bën që të enden nëpër vende të shkreta, ku nuk ekziston asnjë rrugë.

41 Y et setteth he the poor on high from affliction, and maketh him families like a flock.

Por e ngre nevojtarin nga varfëria dhe i shton familjet e tyre si një kope.

42 T he righteous shall see it, and rejoice: and all iniquity shall stop her mouth.

Njerëzit e drejtë e shohin këtë dhe kënaqen, por tërë njerëzit e këqij e mbajnë gojën të mbyllur.

43 W hoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the Lord.

Ai që është i urtë le t’i këqyrë këto gjëra dhe le të çmojë mirësinë e Zotit.
