1 E very wise woman buildeth her house; But the foolish plucketh it down with her own hands.

2 H e that walketh in his uprightness feareth Jehovah; But he that is perverse in his ways despiseth him.

Който ходи в правотата си, бои се от Господа: Но опакият в пътищата си Го презира.

3 I n the mouth of the foolish is a rod for his pride; But the lips of the wise shall preserve them.

В устата на безумния има пръчка за гордостта му, А устните на мъдрите ще ги пазят.

4 W here no oxen are, the crib is clean; But much increase is by the strength of the ox.

Дето няма волове, яслите са чисти, Но в силата на воловете е голямото изобилие.

5 A faithful witness will not lie; But a false witness uttereth lies.

Верният свидетел няма да лъже, А лъжливият свидетел издиша лъжи.

6 A scoffer seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not; But knowledge is easy unto him that hath understanding.

Присмивателят търси мъдрост и нея намира, А за разумният учението е лесно.

7 G o into the presence of a foolish man, And thou shalt not perceive in him the lips of knowledge.

Отмини безумния човек Щом си узнал, че той няма разумни устни.

8 T he wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way; But the folly of fools is deceit.

Мъдростта на благоразумния е да обмисля пътя си, А глупостта на безумните е да заблуждават.

9 A trespass-offering mocketh fools; But among the upright there is good will.

Приносът за грях се присмива на безумните, А между праведните има Божие благоволение.

10 T he heart knoweth its own bitterness; And a stranger doth not intermeddle with its joy.

Сърцето познава своята си горест И чужд не участвува в неговата радост.

11 T he house of the wicked shall be overthrown; But the tent of the upright shall flourish.

Къщата на нечестивите ще се събори, Но шатърът на праведните ще благоденствува.

12 T here is a way which seemeth right unto a man; But the end thereof are the ways of death.

Има път, който се вижда прав на човека, Но краят му е пътища към смърт.

13 E ven in laughter the heart is sorrowful; And the end of mirth is heaviness.

Даже и всред смеха сърцето си има болката, И краят на веселието е тегота.

14 T he backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways; And a good man shall be satisfied from himself.

Развратният по сърце ще се насити от своите пътища, А добрият човек ще се насити от себе си.

15 T he simple believeth every word; But the prudent man looketh well to his going.

Простият вярва всяка дума, А благоразумният внимава добре в стъпките си.

16 A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil; But the fool beareth himself insolently, and is confident.

Мъдрият се бои и се отклонява от злото, А безумният самонадеяно се хвърля напред.

17 H e that is soon angry will deal foolishly; And a man of wicked devices is hated.

Ядовитият човек постъпва несмислено, И зломисленикът е мразен.

18 T he simple inherit folly; But the prudent are crowned with knowledge.

Безумниите наследяват глупост, А благоразумните се увенчават със знание.

19 T he evil bow down before the good; And the wicked, at the gates of the righteous.

Злите се кланят пред добрите, И нечестивите при портите на праведния,

20 T he poor is hated even of his own neighbor; But the rich hath many friends.

Сиромахът е мразен даже от ближния си, А на богатия приятелите са много.

21 H e that despiseth his neighbor sinneth; But he that hath pity on the poor, happy is he.

Който презира ближния си, съгрешава, А който показва милост към сиромасите е блажен.

22 D o they not err that devise evil? But mercy and truth shall be to them that devise good.

Не заблуждават ли се ония, които измислят зло? Но милост и верност ще се покажат към тия, които измислят добро

23 I n all labor there is profit; But the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.

От всеки труд има полза, А от бъбренето с устните само оскъдност.

24 T he crown of the wise is their riches; But the folly of fools is only folly.

Богатството на мъдрите е венец за тях, А глупостта на безумните е всякога глупост.

25 A true witness delivereth souls; But he that uttereth lies causeth deceit.

Верният свидетел избавя души, А който издиша лъжи е цял измама.

26 I n the fear of Jehovah is strong confidence; And his children shall have a place of refuge.

В страха от Господа има силна увереност, И Неговите чада ще имат прибежище.

27 T he fear of Jehovah is a fountain of life, That one may depart from the snares of death.

Страхът от Господа е извор на живот, За да се отдалечава човек от примките на смъртта,

28 I n the multitude of people is the king's glory; But in the want of people is the destruction of the prince.

Когато людете са многочислени, слава е за царя, А когато людете са малочислени, съсипване е за княза.

29 H e that is slow to anger is of great understanding; But he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.

Който не се гневи скоро, показва голямо благоразумие, А който лесно се гневи проявява безумие.

30 A tranquil heart is the life of the flesh; But envy is the rottenness of the bones.

Тихо сърце е живот на тялото, А разяреността е гнилост на костите.

31 H e that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker; But he that hath mercy on the needy honoreth him.

Който угнетява бедния нанася укор на Създателя му, А който е милостив към сиромаха показва почит Нему.

32 T he wicked is thrust down in his evil-doing; But the righteous hath a refuge in his death.

Нечестивият е смазан във време на бедствитето си, А праведният и в смъртта си име упование.

33 W isdom resteth in the heart of him that hath understanding; But that which is in the inward part of fools is made known.

В сърцето на разумния мъдростта почива, А между безумните тя се явява.

34 R ighteousness exalteth a nation; But sin is a reproach to any people.

Правдата възвишава народ, А грехът е позор за племената.

35 T he king's favor is toward a servant that dealeth wisely; But his wrath will be against him that causeth shame.

Благоволението на царя е към разумния слуга, А яростта му против онзи, който докарва срам.
