In my trouble I called unto Jehovah, and he answered me.

2 L ibra mi alma, oh Jehová, de labio mentiroso, De la lengua fraudulenta.

Jehovah, deliver my soul from the lying lip, from the deceitful tongue.

3 ¿ Qué te dará, ó qué te aprovechará, Oh lengua engañosa?

What shall be given unto thee, what shall be added unto thee, thou deceitful tongue?

4 A gudas saetas de valiente, Con brasas de enebro.

Sharp arrows of a mighty one, with burning coals of broom-wood.

5 A y de mí, que peregrino en Mesech, Y habito entre las tiendas de Kedar!

Woe is me, that I sojourn in Meshech, that I dwell among the tents of Kedar!

6 M ucho se detiene mi alma Con los que aborrecen la paz.

My soul hath long dwelt with them that hate peace.

7 Y o soy pacífico: Mas ellos, así que hablo, me hacen guerra.

I peace; but when I speak, they for war.
