1 ¶ And the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the second time, saying,
Haddana mar labaad ayaa eraygii Rabbigu u yimid Yoonis oo ku yidhi,
2 A rise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee.
Kac, oo waxaad tagtaa magaaladaas weyn oo Nineweh, oo waxaad iyada ku wacdidaa wacdiska aan kuu sheegayo,
3 S o Jonah arose and went unto Nineveh, according to the word of the LORD. Now Nineveh was an exceeding great city of three days’ journey.
Sidaas daraaddeed Yoonis wuu kacay oo wuxuu tegey Nineweh siduu eraygii Rabbigu ku amray. Haddaba Nineweh waxay ahayd magaalo aad iyo aad u weyn, oo waxay isu jirtay intii saddex maalmood loo socdo.
4 A nd Jonah began to enter into the city a day’s journey, and he cried and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be destroyed.
Markaasaa Yoonis wuxuu bilaabay inuu magaaladii dhex galo in maalin socod ah, oo intuu qayliyey ayuu yidhi, Weli waxaa u hadhay afartan maalmood, dabadeedna Nineweh waa la afgembiyi doonaa.
5 ¶ So the people of Nineveh believed God and proclaimed a fast and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.
Markaasaa dadkii Nineweh Ilaah rumaysteen, oo waxay ku dhawaaqeen in la soomo, oo kii ugu wada weynaa ilaa kii ugu yaraa inta ka dhex leh waxay wada xidheen dhar joonyad ah.
6 F or word came unto the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he threw his robe from him and covered himself with sackcloth and sat in ashes.
Oo warkiina wuxuu gaadhay boqorkii Nineweh, oo isna intuu carshigiisii ka kacay ayuu dharkiisii quruxdasanaa iska bixiyey, oo wuxuu huwaday dhar joonyad ah, dambasna wuu ku fadhiistay.
7 A nd he caused it to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing; let them not feed, nor drink water:
Oo wuxuu sameeyey naado, oo Nineweh gudaheeda ayaa lagu faafiyey amarkii boqorka iyo saraakiishiisa oo leh, Dad iyo duunyo, lo' iyo ido toona, yaan midna wax dhadhamin, oo yaanay wax cunin, biyona cabbin.
8 b ut let man and beast be covered with sackcloth and cry mightily unto God; and let each one turn from his evil way and from the violence that is in his hands.
Laakiinse dad iyo duunyoba dhar joonyad ah ha la wada huwado, oo Ilaah xaggiisa aad ha loogu qayliyo; oo mid kastaaba ha ka leexdo jidkiisii xumaa iyo dulmiga gacmihiisa ku jira.
9 W ho can tell if God will turn and repent and turn away from his fierce anger, that we not perish?
Bal yaa og in Ilaah ka noqon doono oo cadhadiisa kulul ka jeesan doono iyo in kale, si aynaan u halligmin?
10 A nd God saw their works, because they turned from their evil way, and he repented of the evil that he had said that he would do unto them, and he did not do it.
Oo markaasaa Ilaah wuxuu arkay shuqulkoodii iyo inay iyagu ka noqdeen jidkoodii xumaa, kolkaasaa Ilaah wuxuu ka noqday sharkii uu sheegay inuu iyaga ku samaynayo; oo taasna ma uu samayn.
