1 P ablo, prisionero de Jesucristo, y el hermano Timoteo, a Filemón, el amado hermano y colaborador nuestro,

Paul, a prisoner of Jesus Christ, and Timothy our brother, unto Philemon our dearly beloved, and fellowlabourer,

2 y a la amada hermana Apia, y a Arquipo nuestro compañero de milicia, y a la iglesia que está en tu casa:

And to our beloved Apphia, and Archippus our fellowsoldier, and to the church in thy house:

3 G racia y paz a vosotros, de parte de Dios nuestro Padre y del Señor Jesucristo. Reconocimiento del amor y la fe de Filemón

Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

4 D oy gracias a mi Dios siempre, haciendo memoria de ti en mis oraciones,

I thank my God, making mention of thee always in my prayers,

5 p orque oigo del amor y de la fe que tienes hacia el Señor Jesús, y para con todos los santos;

Hearing of thy love and faith, which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all saints;

6 p ara que la participación de tu fe sea eficaz en el pleno conocimiento de todo el bien que hay en vosotros en orden a Cristo Jesús.

That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.

7 P ues tenemos gran gozo y consolación en tu amor, porque por medio de ti, oh hermano, han sido confortados los corazones de los santos. Intercesión a favor de Onésimo

For we have great joy and consolation in thy love, because the bowels of the saints are refreshed by thee, brother.

8 P or lo cual, aunque tengo mucha libertad en Cristo para mandarte lo que conviene,

Wherefore, though I might be much bold in Christ to enjoin thee that which is convenient,

9 m ás bien te ruego por amor, siendo como soy, Pablo ya anciano, y ahora, además, prisionero de Jesucristo;

Yet for love's sake I rather beseech thee, being such an one as Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ.

10 t e ruego en favor de mi hijo Onésimo, a quien engendré en mis prisiones,

I beseech thee for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten in my bonds:

11 e l cual en otro tiempo te fue inútil, pero ahora a ti y a mí nos es útil,

Which in time past was to thee unprofitable, but now profitable to thee and to me:

12 e l cual vuelvo a enviarte; tú, pues, recíbele como si fuera mi propio corazón.

Whom I have sent again: thou therefore receive him, that is, mine own bowels:

13 Y o querría retenerle a mi lado, para que en lugar tuyo me sirviese en mis prisiones por el evangelio;

Whom I would have retained with me, that in thy stead he might have ministered unto me in the bonds of the gospel:

14 p ero nada quise hacer sin tu consentimiento, para que tu buena acción no fuese como por obligación, sino por libre voluntad.

But without thy mind would I do nothing; that thy benefit should not be as it were of necessity, but willingly.

15 P orque quizá para esto se apartó de ti por algún tiempo, para que le recibieses para siempre;

For perhaps he therefore departed for a season, that thou shouldest receive him for ever;

16 n o ya como esclavo, sino como más que esclavo, como hermano amado, especialmente para mí, pero cuánto más para ti, tanto en la carne como en el Señor.

Not now as a servant, but above a servant, a brother beloved, specially to me, but how much more unto thee, both in the flesh, and in the Lord?

17 A sí que, si me tienes por compañero, recíbele como a mí mismo.

If thou count me therefore a partner, receive him as myself.

18 Y si en algo te perjudicó, o te debe, ponlo a mi cuenta.

If he hath wronged thee, or oweth thee ought, put that on mine account;

19 Y o, Pablo, lo escribo de mi mano, yo lo pagaré; por no decirte que aun tú mismo te me debes a mí.

I Paul have written it with mine own hand, I will repay it: albeit I do not say to thee how thou owest unto me even thine own self besides.

20 S í, hermano, hazme este favor en el Señor; conforta mi corazón en el Señor.

Yea, brother, let me have joy of thee in the Lord: refresh my bowels in the Lord.

21 T e he escrito confiado en tu obediencia, sabiendo que harás aun más de lo que te digo. Recomendaciones y saludos

Having confidence in thy obedience I wrote unto thee, knowing that thou wilt also do more than I say.

22 Y al mismo tiempo, prepárame alojamiento; porque espero que por medio de vuestras oraciones os seré concedido.

But withal prepare me also a lodging: for I trust that through your prayers I shall be given unto you.

23 T e saludan Epafras, mi compañero de prisiones en Cristo Jesús,

There salute thee Epaphras, my fellowprisoner in Christ Jesus;

24 M arcos, Aristarco, Demas y Lucas, mis colaboradores.

Marcus, Aristarchus, Demas, Lucas, my fellowlabourers.

25 L a gracia de nuestro Señor Jesucristo sea con vuestro espíritu. Amén.
